Re: Plot placement? good looking rich soil...looks like perfect placement---right on the edge of timber---they should feel very secure in that plot. good job---lets see some progress pics of the green stuff! todd

    Food plots?

Re: Food plots? that would be at a rate of 280#/acre so that sounds about right. let us know how that clover works for you. In the spring you might want to skip the nitrogen--by then the clover will be fixing it's own nitrogen and extra nitrogen will only fascilitate weed growth. good luck todd
  5. how much fertilizer did you put out with the initial planting. I usually put out about 250#/acre of triple 13 or 10-20-10--and won't refertilize again until early spring. I purchased a hand held pH/soil fertility tester---i think it cost me about 25 bucks. It will give you and instant pH level of your soil and the fertility level. I use it all the time. soil meter--click here todd
  6. sounds like perfect timing---your rye will be up and going great---clover a little slower. good job--post us some progress pics todd

  10. Re: First roll from stealth cam the little plastic piece fell out of both of mine---didn't even put it back---couldn't figure how to get it back on---still works fine though. good luck this time todd
  11. Re: First roll from stealth cam when you load the camera next time make sure it is on test when you close the back of the camera. Then look at the LCD and make sure it say "0" if is says "E" then reload again. That happened to me once also. After you load it a few time you will be able to tell by the sound if the camera picked up the film---it has a little dragging sound to it. better luck next time todd
  12. they have been having some problems the last couple of days---they are up for a while then down. Don't know what is wrong. todd

  14. Re: Lung surgery Friday morning Not trying to compare you with a dog, but last week I had this dog come in with fluid in it's chest--drained the fluid and radiographed the chest and was pretty sure this dog had a mass in one of it's right lobes. Owner elected to do surgery and it was a benign mass---removed that particular lobe and the dog just continues to improve every day!!!! Good Luck and lots of Prayers! todd
  15. Haven't seen this product at the walmarts here. They are carrying the new Biologic's GreenPatch. It is a 10# bag and cost 6 bucks. It is a mixture of wheat, oats, and annual clovers and brassica. It is a cheap way of developing a small plot. It states a 10# bag will plant 1/4 acre. I have never heard of Hunter's blend. Look at the seed content and see what is in it. todd

  22. Re: Taxidermist is in slow motion it takes my taxidermist about a year to get a deer back from him. he is a teacher and does taxidermy on his off time (school breaks). he does such a great job i don't mind waiting. todd
  23. I'm kind of thinking you might have got a lemon. Here is a pic off mine --these 2 deer were about 30 feet away from the camera. My camera is about 4 feet up with a small stick wedged behind the top. You might think about getting an exchange. I have 2 now and they both seem to be working fine. todd
