  5. Well the little girl is doing well. If you remember I rescued this pup when she was less than 2 weeks old. Her mother had bitten her tongue and split it in half. She was brought in to be put down and I asked the owner if I could have her if I saved her--well the little girl turned 15 weeks today. She is one retrieving machine. todd

    Down Time

I'm doing a lot of dog training. Planted some wildlife mix and milo on the dam of my duck pond. In another month I will be draining the pond and planting some jap millet and sorghum for future flooding.

  9. Finally got a few days without rain so headed out saturday--hooked up the tiller onto the Kubota and went to work. I ended up planting 100# of a Spring Wildlife Mix and added another 50# of IC cowpeas to the mix. Planted several long strips. Finished with about an hour of daylight left--that night received 1/4 inch of rain and last night another 2" got dumped on the plot. Thankfully it is really flat so hopefully none of the seed got washed away. The first strip is a curved plot that follows the contour of the creek that runs on my land. I tilled about 1/2 of my winter plot but left the rest to provide some good wheat/rye/oat seeds for the birds. It is only about 12 feet wide but around 150 yards long: The second plot is the same mixture--again I left some of my winter plot. con't

  21. I spray my own yard and use 2-4D for my broadleaf weeds. I just get it at Home Depot and it worked great. Killed all my clover, thistle, and dandelions from my yard. It took about a week for them to die.
