  1. Actually just got some myself, but yours are fancier! Nice purchase! Ryan
  2. Will it definitely say if it's variable? Thanks! Ryan
  3. I highly recommend Gold Tip XT Hunters. You shouldn't have to change anything on your bow, other than maybe the sight pins if the carbons shoot a little differently than the aluminums..at least I don't think! There are some great tech guys on here that I'm sure will or already have answered that question. The XT hunters are very affordable and extremely dependable and tough! Shoot whatever makes you confident though. Take care, Ryan
  4. My dad did the same thing for me, and my first deer looks very similar to the buck in your picture. Very cool, and something you'll treasure forever! Take care, Ryan
  5. That sounds like a great time! Hopefully we'll see more pictures in the future! Take care, Ryan
  6. The close-ups are awesome! Like my grandma says, "my ticker's kickin' up a fuss!" Thanks for sharing! Ryan
  7. Mountains hard to come by in IL, but I would say that the base of the mountain would be better than up in them, depending on how far up you're talking. If there's still thick cover, you should consider at least trying to climb a little. The best advice I could give about this would be to scout as much as possible! Good luck, and welcome to the forums! Great to have you! Ryan
  8. Awesome! Stay on him and show us those kill pictures! Take care, Ryan
  9. Hmm... The benefit of the doubt may expire soon. I'm hoping Rodger will get back to us pretty quickly here. I'd love to hear that there's a really good reason for this...
  10. So if the magnification is the same, would a wider field of view always be better?
  11. I'm looking for new binoculars. I've pretty much narrowed it down to Leupold and Nikon, but I'm not sure if I need/want 8x36, 10x50, 10x42, etc. I have an idea about what it means, but I'd like somebody to "clear" it up for me (pun intended..haha). Also, the FOV (field of view) ranges from about 230-350, and sometimes even if they're both 10x42 for example. What's the deal? Please help me out :-) Thanks! Ryan
  12. Awesome...been looking at one, but can't decide. Probably ask for it for Christmas. I've heard that the ARC feature is worthless, but I'm not so sure. I think it makes sense. Maybe I'm a sucker, but I'll be the sucker who's using the right pin at the moment of truth! Good to hear a review...thanks! Take care, Ryan
  13. I got some RedHead Expedition Fleece last year for the cold snowy days, and it's pretty awesome. Very quiet and warm. Great price too. If you're looking for something really bulky just for gun hunting, this might not be it, but it's excellent for bowhunting and it's the warmest stuff I've got. I also have a overall and coat set of Whitewater Realtree Pro Series fleece. It's really nice, and affordable. Good luck, Ryan
  14. That's very cool..My dad would love that story and to do that himself. He's a huge fan of indian artifacts and history of the old west. Let us know how it goes! Take care, Ryan
  15. Never heard bad things about the 2 blades. I do know that mechanicals, overall, are obviously less dependable than fixed blades just because you have to trust they'll work everytime, exactly the same. As with most reviews, take them for what they are..others' opinions. They're very useful, but I suggest finding out for yourself and shooting whatever's comfortable for you! Take care, Ryan
  16. When you're shooting a bow it's different than a gun. Your friend is right. With a gun, you're moving the rear sight, and with a bow, you're moving the front sight. If you hold your bow in front of you and think about which way you would aim if the sight moved different ways, it'll become more clear. Good luck! Ryan
  17. Better tell David Blanton! That's one of the bows he's shooting this year :-/ Good info! Ryan
  18. He'll be fine ;-) Don't worry about ol' Peyton and his lazer rocket arm! Ryan
  19. I wouldn't mind seeing Harrington do it. I know a European hasn't won since like 1930 or something like that, so I guess percentage is against him. I just like him. I'm a huge Tiger fan, but if it can't be him, I'll say Harrington, Baddely, or Zach. Good post, Ryan

Here come the goosebumps. I have so many friends in the service...If I think about it, I don't really feel like I deserve much of anything at all or have the right to it...but I'm sure thankful. Thanks for sharing! Take care, Ryan

  24. Hahahahahaha..that's awesome! I am curious, though...what were you trying to look for that led you to that? Hahaha :-) Have a good one, Ryan
