  1. I think whoever said Holy Smokes had it right! That's huge! Nice work, Man! Take care, Ryan
  2. Nice! Thanks for the info Bearclaw!
  3. Just trying them for the first time this year...heard good things about them though. It never hurts to try! Take care, Ryan
  4. Another vote for green...very nice!
  5. My buddies and I play HORSE. Just like basketball, pick the shot, and you have to hit the dot (or a specified area). If you hit it, the next person has to hit it or they get a letter...and so on. Spell HORSE and you're out! Last one standing wins! Get creative with your shots, too! Good luck, Ryan
  6. They look really cool, and they make it easier to see the arrows in flight, especially on camera! Take care, Ryan
  7. All right, Kat...take care, Man! Let us know :-) Ryan
  8. You've gotten many great tips here...one more I'll add that has to do with how far forward or back on a quartering away deer is to shoot at the opposite leg. Everyone wants complete passthrough, but if you shoot a deer that's quartering away and lodge the arrow in the opposite shoulder, you'll have a dead deer. Good luck! Ryan
  9. Nice...you'll think of that whenever you climb that stick!
  10. Awesome! Push some over to Rushville or Macomb! (Schuyler or McDonough Co.). Hope to see some pictures when you have one belly up! Take care, Ryan
  11. Team Full Draw? Team Itchy Trigger Finger? I'm a little bored... I want to hear about this monster mulie that one of you guys was on a few days ago! Has anybody else started their season yet? Oct. 1 here... Take care, Ryan
  12. Out the upstairs window into the back yard :-) My dad is also building a practice platform next to the cabin about 15 feet up for us to practice from. Good luck! Ryan
  13. Definitely leave the dates. Something that hasn't been mentioned yet is hunting pressure. If you're in an area where there's pressure, you'll probably beat most out of town people there. You'll also have first crack at all the big boys!!! Shot my biggest bow buck on November 4th...don't sleep on the pre-rut!! Good luck, and I hope to see pictures! Take care, Ryan
  14. No need to worry about me I'm all over it! I just had a ton of stuff going on at work the last few weeks, and that's where I usually log on. Just got done moving too, so the computer at home isn't hooked up. I've been on quite a bit over the last few months though...hope to keep it up! Had a couple team names I thought of...just suggestions. I like Death from Above, too, if that's what gets decided. Here's a couple to think about: Team Bambi's Grandpa, Team Daddy Rabbit (a little Michael Waddell term for monster buck), Team Backstrap. How about Team White Belly Up(or just Belly Up)!? Team Killer Instinct? Haha..I got in the zone and thought of more than a couple I guess. Let me know what you think! I'll keep brainstorming... Take care everyone, Ryan
  15. I bought a bunch of bottles of Scent-A-Way about 3 years ago because they got clearanced out at Wally World. They've been out in the garage...do you think I should still use what's left, or should I just buy some more? Also, anybody used the new Primos Silver XP? Thanks! Ryan
  16. Hello all...checking in from Illinois. Season starts Oct. 1. Everything looks really good down at the farm this year. Only 1 buck shot on about 1000 acres last year, and I saw some dandies that just weren't big enough. Should be a good year! Any luck from the team members whose seasons started today? Good luck everyone! Ryan
  17. Put in my order on basspro.com yesterday. Tried it on at the actual store (didn't have my size), but it seems very comfortable and warm! Hopefully the scent control works well! I'll try to remember to do a small review on it after I get out there a few times. Take care, Ryan

    Cows!

I wouldn't say that cows have no effect on deer at all. I've noticed very reliably that when the neighbor's cows get out and are feeding in our fields, there are noticably less deer seen. There's not much to do about it other than call the neighbor after I leave and tell him his cows are out. Even then, he has to drive his truck around and chase them back to their property. I actually got chased by a couple cows during turkey season once, just as a side note...not very fun! Good luck, Ryan

  20. Bought a couple small ones.."Buck Lickers." One's Wild Berry and one's Sweet Acorn. I don't know much about mineral licks... Which ones do you guys and girls like to use, and why? Are there any to stay away from? Thanks in advance for the info! Take care, Ryan
  21. Tru Ball Tornado or Cyclone are great dependable releases! Good luck, Ryan
