  1. Congrats on the buck! Ryan
  2. Congrats on the buck! Take care, Ryan
  3. Mule-I understand completely what you're saying. Everyone knows that stuff happens. Last year or the year before, Brad Farris of Primos missed 3 turkeys in a row with his bow, the closest of which was about 10 yards. Then Troy Ruiz, on the deer video, missed two or three deer. It's refreshing to see those guys do that sometimes, but only if they're humble about it. I think that's the point. Have some humility and admit you've made a bad shot. I can't say that I think this is a huge problem (and I don't think you are either), but I can definitely understand where you're coming from. Take care, Ryan
  4. Sounds about right..haha. Been seeing much more in the afternoons here too. Weather has been fairly consistent, so it's hard to tell if the weather is affecting it. Good luck! Ryan
  5. Holy tines! Great deer! Does the arrow look like it's going UP into the body? That's cool... Anyway, that's awesome for them! Thanks for sharing! Take care, Ryan
  6. You weren't kidding when you said graphic pics were included! Congrats on the deer, and great shot! Take care, Ryan
  7. I asked this same question on here a few years ago when it was becoming popular, and someone gave me great advice that I haven't forgotten. Very simple too... Their slogan is "Forget the wind, just hunt." This person said, "Use it if you want, but never forget the wind ;-)" I don't have the whole suit, but I have facemasks, hats, and three pairs of gloves. I use them, but I also use Earth Scent Wafers by HS, Scent Killer or Scent-A-Way, wash my clothes in Scent Killer detergent, and take showers with Scent Killer soap. Something else to consider is Rocky's new Scent IQ clothing. I have and love the baselayers (long johns). Extremely comfortable, and I haven't been sniffed out since I got it. Good luck! Ryan
  8. Just got my first one this year, and it is very nifty. Really like it, but it is tough to screw into some trees. May have to take the paint off like was mentioned. Take care, Ryan
  9. That's awesome..hahaha! Great story..thanks for sharing! I laughed out loud at work when I read the part about the piano being more fun and that she had already waited a minute! Haha! Nice :-) Take care, Ryan
  10. Sent the link to my mom, girlfriend, and sister for Christmas ideas ;-) Hopefully it works out! Thanks for letting us know! Ryan
  11. Dang!!! He's a hog! Nice work, Man! Talk about starting the season off with a bang! I hope I can SEE one like that this season, let alone have him at 15 yards! What's he score? Congrats, Man! Ryan I was out on Saturday...saw 3 decent 2 1/2s, but no shooters. You folks will definitely hear about it when I do!
  12. I'll take the over and say 151 3/8. I'm an official internet picture scorer, so you can assume that's exactly right ;-) Haha...nice buck Randy! Whatever it scores, I hope it's going on the wall! Take care, Ryan
  13. I guess I should probably clarify...I already "hunt the wind," but I'm not sure if my definition of hunting the wind is exactly right or not. I just want to make sure I'm taking the right things into account. Thanks! Ryan
  14. Great job! Congrats on your harvest!
  15. Haha..apologies. I didn't even think about which "first" it was..I just wanted to wish you good luck:D Congrats on already harvesting some nice animals! Take care, Ryan
  16. I don't know any surefire tactics, but I shoot does every year, a lot of times around natural funnels. Just figure out places they like to frequent, whether it be by looking for tracks, bedding areas, droppings, or whatever else you figure out to let you know where they're comfortable being. The fence idea is a good one too... Just think about the idea of what you're actually doing. You're giving them an easier way to get somewhere. If you can figure out any way to give deer and easy route that doesn't totally open everything up and still provides cover, you can find some nice success. Good luck, Ryan
  17. The guy in my shop has told me that I should probably change mine after this year, which will be the third year I've had my current bow. It depends a little on how much you shoot and how well you take care of your bow, but if you've had your string for 6 years, I'd probably say it wouldn't be a bad time to get a new one. Good luck! Ryan
  18. Good luck on your first hunt! I guess you might be in the stand right now!! Hope everything is going well :-) Ryan
  19. You definitely put some brown on the ground, Matt! Two on the first day :D That's too bad...it happens to everyone at some point. Hopefully next time will be better;)

    Rate this buck?

I'll give the antlers an 8 and the keister a 10! Definitely a healthy looking deer, but young. I'd let him go at least another year, preferably 2, then give him the double forearm shiver!
  21. Have a good time! Maybe Mr. Big will wake up today!
  22. Sweet shot, Man! Congrats! Ryan
  23. Nice work, Matt. Looking forward to hearing about your dad's hunt! Take care, Bud. Ryan
