  1. Re: Is this the end of Thompson/Center Arms It'll be interesting. S&W doesn't spend nearly as much on advertising as T/C. So it's gonna be real tough for S&W to swallow they are going to have to continue to cough up that kind of money to keep T/C going. IMO, that's the only reason T/C has the market share they do. The marketing strategies of the two companies are completely different. S&W tried to market rifles before. Anyone remember the 1500? This was simply a HOWA action, which is a darn good rifle but S&W never marketed it to it's potential. Maybe they've learned from the mistakes of that endeavour.

    Send one up please

  3. Re: Red Stag anyone????????????? [ QUOTE ] That's my dream hunt too, but a little short on the fundage right now. Besides, I won't get on an airplane. [/ QUOTE ] Andrea, That would be a long swim! Sorry flyings a problem for you That's a handicap Honestly, if you're gonna go all the way to NZ or Argentina, don't just plan on one animal. Fallow deer, Tahr, Chamois, turkey are possible in NZ Fallow deer, Blackbuck, BIG FERAL HOGS, Capibera in Argentina Both places offer world class wingshooting. It would be a great trip. I wish you well. Check references, lots of them. If you can find references the outfitter doesn't give you, even better. Personally, I wanna go back to Africa.

  6. Re: New bow draw length and speed -- ROOKIE QUESTI IBO (350gr arrow) for a Trykon at 70lbs with a 27" draw should be close to 284fps. That's with nothing extra on the string. After you're all set up probably between 265-275.
  7. Re: Figure This Out Honestly, I wouldn't be so quick to assume the worst. If the arrow was still in the animal. May not have left that good a blood trail. I've had deer travel 80yds with the arrow still in them and not leave a drop. The shooter may have just been inexperienced. Or honestly believed they missed and lost their arrow. You really can't know how hard they looked or how far the deer actually travelled from where it was shot. We are becoming conditioned to at first, believe the worst of our fellow hunters. That's not right. It's anti-propoganda getting to us.

    Bohning Blazer

Re: Bohning Blazer You should see even better broadhead flight with the Blazers. Most folks are a little low on FOC with carbons and the Blazers really help that. You absolutely need more FOC with broadhead tipped carbon shafts than aluminums.

    When you are lost

Re: When you are lost What an incredibly tragic story Prayers for him and his family.
  15. Re: shipping guns. US postal service will ship guns. Go to them for details before you bring the weapon to ship
  16. Re: Do companies even care anymore ? Your best bet nowadays is to keep the receipt from the retail store you made the purchase and return it if something goes wrong. Retail stores have a lot more leverage with warrantee issues than individual consumers. Some stores won't accept returns of certain items. You can find that out before you buy. If they won't accept a return of that item that's a clue to be cautious (and sometimes it means don't buy)
  17. Re: I Can Feel My Mullet Regrowing... [ QUOTE ] Man I remember the very first video that came on MTV! [/ QUOTE ] The Buggles "Video killed the radio." if I remember right.

    Freezer unplugged

Re: Freezer unplugged If the freezer still works, don't throw it away. Donate it to Goodwill. There are folks who just needs freezers that work and don't care if they stink (IE. Bait shops, taxidermists...) Then you can at least write off the donation value on your taxes at the end of the year

    Freezer unplugged

Re: Freezer unplugged All hope is not lost on your trophies. The horns will be salvageable. A taxidermist may be able to get another cape to use with them. If you have good pictures of the fish and even better some measurements a fiberglass repro can be may that will look darn good.

    Gifts for the women

Re: Gifts for the women [ QUOTE ] Well I am not a guy but I work in a salon and women love facials, pedicures, and massages. Yeah Yeah I know a hunter, master stylist. What a contradiction! It is a high end salon and I work in pink cowboy boots everyday with a harvest picture in my top drawer for those who are interested! [/ QUOTE ] This is good advice here. I know my wife loves it. And all her friends are jealous

    What's up with men who

Re: What\'s up with men who [ QUOTE ] Quite a common sight this time of year. Ever notice the looks you get if you're a WOMAN and you wear your camo into a store????? Men act like they've just gotten out of prison. [/ QUOTE ] Now that's funny!!! And probably true
  23. Re: Arctic Shield clothing [ QUOTE ] Thanks for the info guys. Leo, what clothing do you wear underneath ie..long johns, different layers..etc. that makes it too hot to walk in ? [/ QUOTE ] Different people generate different amounts of heat. For me a T-shirt and a sweat shirt under the parka was enough to be plenty comfortable on a 32F duck hunting day. I could walk around some but not much before roasting. Their parkas are WARM! If I walk around with it much and I start to overheat I just unzip the front.
  24. Re: Arctic Shield clothing I have the parka and absolutely love it. Based on it's performance I'm going to get the bibs too. The parka is nicer than alot of buddies more expensive jackets. If you're going to sit a stand or a blind in the cold the stuff is awesome but if you're going to walk around a bunch expect it to roast you even on a freezing cold day.
  25. Re: I Agree With Jesse Jackson... Making the word more Taboo only empowers it and makes it MORE offensive. It wouldn't even be an issue if no one cared or got violent and emotional when they heard it.
