Yes, still not getting good news. Regarding my family, we did receive the great news that my cousin was slightly injured and trapped for a short while, but he was able to walk out of the mine. He's not taking it very well as 25 are confirmed dead and 4 more are missing. Alisha, you are right, everyone is dreading seeing the list. Hang in there.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/04/05/explosion-underground-west-virginia-coal/ Prayers go out for the miners, the families, the friends, and all rescue members helping in this ordeal. Everyone in the area is very close, and I think everyone knows someone or has a family member in the area. I turned on the Today show this morning and my second cousin was being interviewed about his father (My first cousin) who is missing. We have had unconfirmed reports that he was actually only injured, but not hearing anything definite yet.

Work had me up in Toronto, Canada for the last week and I got to say I am glad to be home! Toronto is way too much city for me. I worked and stayed in the financial district, my rental car was pretty much useless to me up there...oh well, least all that good walking is getting me prepped for spring gobbler season, eh?! Oh, and while we were there the Healthcare was announced to have passed and the pub we were in roared with laughter...they thought it was just the funniest thing. Even with our troubles, glad to be back folks.

My squirrel season suffered thanks to a great archery season and then, (month of January) rough windy/cold weather. Oh well, was a great contest and I can't wait for next year.

Great looking Polaris! I am a big fan, I have a Sportsman 700 Twin that I love. My uncle still has one of the first model year Sportsman 500's that came out and we still try our best to wear it out!

Personally, I recommend a hard tail. First off, I have found them to be more durable. I've ridden for years, always chose a hard tail. My good friend returned his Specialized StumpJumper FSR (full suspension) last year because it kept breaking down...moved to hard tail and he went right back to the same style of riding and it hasn't stopped yet. I have found hard tails are lighter weight and seem to run a little less expensive. My first MTN bike was around $350 dollars from Dicks Sporting Goods. It was what I could afford at the time and was a Diamondback Response, which was a great bike for me. I road it hard for years and fell in love with the sport. This past year I upgraded to a Trek 6500 Disc and absolutely love it. Great bike for me and so far has stood up to everything I've given it. Just my $.02 though, there's a LOT of durable, good bikes out there.

> > > > > > > > > I took advantage of the upper 40's and sunshine today and took my Old Town Loon on it's maiden voyage. I started the morning by paddling and getting the feel for this boat, which I was pleased to see was very stable. I paddled upstream for a while, which wasn't bad at all. The boat really glides through easily, less drag than on kayaks I've previously been in. After quite a bit of playing in the water and getting familiar with the water, balance, and paddling, I started fishing a few of the rocky drop offs into the water and around structure. I mainly fished a white shad imitation around the structure. I wasn't finding any bait fish either, the water temps were still pretty cold. I really enjoyed finding the little pools outside of the current and maneuvering my boat around, backing onto sand bars, and fishing the structure. I changed over to a few different small jigs and even fished a rattle trap. I never hooked a fish all day, but I had a blast playing on the water and practicing in my kayak.

Bought 2 fly reels from bluelund79 - Great guy to deal with, shipped fast and even threw in a few freebies of the fishing variety. Great guy to deal with here, folks.
-
Thanks again for the great reels, I received them today spooled and also Eric was nice enough to include 2 free packs of Cortland leaders.

Pun squared. Great fly.

You do a lot of fly fishing Ruth? I used to do a lot of bass fishing with the fly rod, a lot of fun. And I've done my fair share of farm pond fishing w/ the fly tackle.

Yep, we have had a little ice this week and already woken up with the ground white twice...but it is melting by the afternoon. This Friday we are forecast between 4 and 10 inches of snow, depending on which forecast you listen to.

Used, but in excellent condition. Apple iPod Shuffle 1GB Silver MP3 Player & Dock. When I bought it new, it came with the ear phones, but you don’t want them! Pick up a pair of headphones and plug them in and you’ll be listening to music. Dock charges the battery and also allows you to transfer music to the iPod Shuffle. This works perfect, no problems at all. I have an iPhone that I now use as a MP3 and didn’t even use this in the last few months, decided to sell to someone else. Good deal @ $45 TYD. From iPod Website: The world's smallest digital music player, the 1GB iPod shuffle lets you wear up to 240 songs on your sleeve. Or your lapel. Or your belt. Clip on iPod shuffle and wear it as a badge of musical devotion. You know what they say about good things and small packages. But when something 1.62 inches long and about half an ounce holds up to 240 songs, "good" and "small" don't quite cut it. Especially when you can listen to your music for up to 12 continuous hours. In fact, iPod shuffle just may be the biggest thing in small.Clip it to your coin pocket. Clip it to your bag. No matter where you clip your skip-free iPod shuffle, you'll have instant access to music. And iPod shuffle's anodized aluminum enclosure goes with absolutely everything. Put it on, turn it up, and turn some heads.Got more than 240 songs in your iTunes library? No problem. Let iTunes autofill your iPod shuffle and get a new musical experience every time. Pop follows jazz. Rock follows rap. iPod shuffle loves to improvise. Take the Shuffle switch, for instance. Even if you've synchronized a particular playlist, you can shuffle songs with a flick. Includes: Ipod Shuffle and Dock!

Call it cabin fever, but I was up and hiking this morning to the river. I wouldn't call it a real hike, not too far at all, but because of the snow and ice it definitely didn't feel like a walk. I have fished here from the bank in the past with pretty good results, lots of catfish, few drums, bass, etc. I was greeted with ice and could hear it popping and cracking as the melt has started. I normally cast right in below this inlet, seems to hold a few fish where it meets the Ohio. Oh well, won't be long and I'll be casting out a line. I normally am rigged for catfish here, but am anxious to try a few different options this year.
