  8. Definitely a great buck no matter what the score, and I love seeing these "home movie" deer hunts. I'm just glad the kid didn't fall out of the stand after he shot him. Why hunters continue to hunt that high, in climbers with all the safety harnesses on the market without one is beyond me.
  9. We got sleet, snow and freezing rain down here today, but I'm sure it will be 70 and sunny on Christmas like every other year. It usually doesn't get cold and stay that way until mid January here.

  12. To conclude my experience with Cabela's, this is how it went down. Yesterday I noticed another "pending" transaction from Cabela's on my checking account. I noticed however that it was a little bit less than the original order that they "lost". I checked cabelas.com and there was a new order number in my account. The Under Armour jackets I ordered were shown as "shipped" and the Cabela's Windshear jacket was shown as ordered, but "canceled". I called customer service and the lady I spoke to said that once my order reached the warehouse, the jacket was out of stock and they weren't sure when, or if they would receive any more of them. The funny thing was how my order was placed on Sunday, but just showed up on "my order history" today. I guess the one good thing is that they didn't charge me shipping for the order. But overall I'm still disappointed.

  15. Many of you guys and gals remember Finn (Craig) that use to be on the forums. He had been seeing this buck on his trail cam throughout the season and was able to double-lung him with his Mathews today.
  16. All I received was an order number, when I placed the order. I never received a confirmation email. That's what made me suspicious. So I went to the Cabela's website and clicked on "Track my Order" where I entered the order number, my name and zip...kept getting an error message that there was no order associated with the info I entered. That's when I proceeded to spend 45 minutes on the phone with customer service, and then the next day with multiple emails when the transaction disappeared from my bank account. I feel like I went above and beyond to give them the business, but they didn't do the same to make me happy. Very disappointing.
  17. They "lost" my order. I gave them my current address, and past 2 addresses, plus the order number, time and amount. It's like I didn't exist. The amount posted to my bank account as "pending" and then disappeared the next day. I didn't just order the $9.99 jacket either, but also 2 Under Armour jackets. Very frustrating. I even scanned the receipt I printed and emailed it to customer service. They said since the order didn't go through, they could do a re-order, but the jacket was mispriced and I would have to pay the current $19.99 and that it was now on backorder. I told them not to bother, I'd buy from Bass Pro. I don't think I'll be giving Cabela's any business in the near future. Customer service was abysmal!
  18. I never received an email confirming my purchase, so I logged on to cabelas and entered my order #. "We could not match the information you entered with our records" is the message I received. Then I checked my bank account and the money has been debited from Cabela's. Getting ready to call customer service. Maybe this WAS too good to be true. Stay tuned..........
  19. Dove hunting, hands down. Opening day down here it's typically in the upper 80's with lots of humidity, not a lot of birds flying, and I'm a terrible shot. On top of that, it's more of a social gathering, where a lot of yuppies show up in their Hummers with there $5000 over-and-unders without a speck of gunpowder on them, wearing L.L. Bean or Orvis head to toe. Is that enough?
