Re: Another new step in muzzleloading? Personally Im not for it or against it but here in indiana its muzzloader season not traditional firearms season. if it loads from the muzzle i say its a muzzleloader.

Re: Kicks Choke Tubes?? thats 5 different brands of shells not 5 shots. sorry

Re: Kicks Choke Tubes?? i have A KICKS 665 FOR REM 870 TRIED 5 DIFFERENT SHELLS AND WASNT VERY PLEASED. CURRENTLY SHOOT A STARDOT FROM AN 835 SHOT 1 TARGET AT 50 YDS LAST YEAR AND HAD 19 PELLETS IN THE KILL ZONE. I DONT THINK BRAND IS AS IMPORTANT AS CONSTRICTION AND LOAD.

Re: red dot or scope If you decide to go for the red dot i suggest looking into buying a reflex sight. in my opinion they are the best sight for a turkey gun. i have a 2.5x32 scope on my 835 but if i had it to do over id have bought a bushnell holosight instead. they are xpensive but there are other brands well within your price range

Re: Oening day in IN. It was 45 deg.in the A.M. here in harrison county which i thought was about normal for opening day. i sat my stand in a ridge full of beech trees since they are the only thing dropping nuts right now. every white oak on our property is bare. seen 4 slick heads and a 4-6 pt. all over 100 yards away. so i wasnt too excited about it.

Re: When is too much enough? I agree with you but just want to point out 1 thing. a faster bow has a flatter trajectory which means less margin for error when judging distance(i dont care how good you are even the best get a little ruffled and mis judge distance when ol mossy horns walks by.) which means more successful shots and less wounded deer. so you see the speed hype isnt about killing things deader its about a better trajectory and less margin for error. that being said keep in mind the last time i chronographed my bow i was shooting 259FPS. so im not on the speed bandwagon just trying to give a bit of its point of view.

Re: 777 primers AJ the primers im talking about are on winchesters ammunition site i dont know if that is the same as olins website or not but i just looked at them on winchesters today.
-
Re: 777 primers I have read many articles that claim 209 primers are so hot the can acually shift or unseat a load b4 the powder is ignited causeing inconsistent shot groups. that is what i believe i have experienced in the past. i have bought a few differnt bullets and primers and am planing on doing some more experementing b4 this fall.
-
Re: 777 primers ishoot 120 grains of loose 777. and a 195 grain bullet.
-
Re: Kinda Funny I have the same shot gun 870 sps deer. it is an extremly accurate gunat 75 yards mine will put 3 winchester partiton golds in 1 hole. you should give it a try.
-
I picked up some primers the other day that are supposed to be cleaner burning. they are made by winchester and are supposed to be designed for 777 and pyrodex does any one know how hot they are in reference to regular 209 primers? im hoping they are alot cooler bcause i think some of my groups suffer because 209 primers are so hot

Re: newbie to ML questions my omega is .45 There are plenty of choices on bullets the only place you have trouble finding .45cal stuff is at wally world!
-
Re: Bullet help I just ordered some dead center 195's for my .45 omega a couple of days ago have never tried them b4 but a friend of mine shoots them and has had awsome results. I would recommend everyone go to thier website www.prbullet.com and check it out there are some very interesting articles and charts there. including a rate of twist/bullet weight selection chart.

Re: which scope I also have a weaver 6-24x42AO its on my savage 12bvss in .243 got in refurbished from natchez shooters supply for $199 looked like brand new out of the box and has performed flawlessly. you wont find a better quality/value than that. call them or write them an email and ask about thier refurbished scopes.

Re: reloading personally i clean my ML after every shot. If you want the most accuracy out of your gun you will do the same.

Re: ar-15 questions thanks for the info
-
I am considering buying an AR and have been looking at them online but really have no clue as for which ones are better than others. I mean theres armalite, fulton, bushmaster, colt, clark, lesbaur, RRA, dpms and the list goes on and on. well to get to my question does anyone have experience with different brands of ar's and is there much of a quality difference between these brands, anyway thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

Which youth model 7mm-08 should I buy?
Slugger replied to whitetailtrax's topic in Rifles & Accessories
Re: Which youth model 7mm-08 should I buy? I really dont think it makes a difference if you go for a bolt gun or a single shot. but i dont like the handi rifles because of the trigger I have shot a couple of them and all had the worst trigger i have ever felt on a rifle very heavy and lots of creep. inexperienced shooters already have a tendancy to flinch and it affects shots a heck of a lot more on a 9-12 lb trigger than a 3-5 lb trigger.not to mention even if your lucky and your kids dont go through the jerk the trigger stage. its alot easier to sqeeze off a good shot on a nice trigger. just my opinion but if a single shot was being considered encore hands down. btw i dont even own an encore but if they are the best in my opinion -
Re: slug guns same gun as need2hunt xeptfor 12 ga with simmons whitetail exp. 1.5-6X these things shoot like rifles out to 150 yards with the right sabot slug
