I've shot just about every shell out there. In my gun the Fed Flight control #5 patterns the best for me. Winchester HV#5 is a close second. The only Rem shell to pattern well for me is the old Rem Hevi-shot it shoots great just not much shot. My #1 shell is the NITRO(its not even in the same category) yea a little pricey but what is a bird worth to you and the pattern is unreal. I do use the Federal in some situation. It shoots the same as the nitro so I don't have to move my sight. Just my $.02 The main thing is; you HAVE to be comfortable with what you shoot.
