Those clothes Rodney and Tim are wearing are high quality/high end outdoor gear called Raven Wear. Tim knows the woman who owns the company. Maybe a little product placement . You would want to wear them too if it were the temps they are sitting in. Very heavy fleece type clothing. Tim swears by it. Come on 200"er...here deer deer deer.

Ahhh... time well spent between a father and son:). Congrats on a good day!

I would imagine the loads are stout enough to cycle the bolt, but it might be a o ring on the piston in the gas chamber that is letting gas blow by without using that recoil/gas to eject the shell. I have never heard a TriStar shotgun, but most semi autos have a piston to cycle the gases and that piston has rings to stop the gas and push the bolt back, eject and load another. Check those rings and lube with Break Free CLP. It has teflon in it and it don't freeze. Good Luck.

I have 2 Rossi long guns. One a .20 that shoots fine, but no choke tube(mod bbl) and a .22mag that is a tack driver with Remington V-Max loads. For the dough I do not think you could go wrong. Good Luck with it.

I have had good luck using Tinks 69. This year I had a forkhorn bed right down on the spot where I squirted some #69. Dang thing kept getting up smelling it and laying back down. I was SURE it was the scent that kept him around til dark and I had to scare him when I got down out of my stand. The time has to be right to use scents or you can scare deer away. If none of the doe are in estrus, and that scent is put out. I think the bucks know it is not natural because he has not smelled any itself in the wild. They know when the stank has begun and they respond to it when the time is right. I say shoot Tink and e mail or PM and see if he can help you out.

Congrats Ruth. I had the same thing happen to me when I shot a doe with my smokepole at 20 yards on a drive. The bullet didn't exit and we found no blood. We found the dead doe about 40 yards away. The bullet does not have adequate time to pick up velocity in that short of a distance, but it has enough energy to put a good hole in them and stop 'em. She will be some good eatin' .

Yup...I'd say your hooked:yes:. Congrats on a good buck.
-
Yup with the rack and body I do not see how anyone could mistake that for a deer. I thought all farm/game animals had to be tagged on the ear in case of escape? Especially Ungulates. Hmmm...

Sorry you didn't connect Mike. BUT.... you are welcome to come hunt our land and stay at my country house/deer camp in the foot of NY's Catskill Mtns. We still have 5 days of rifle season left and one week of muzzleloading coming. I have 2 of 'em you could borrow one. I have a doe tag for ya if you want/need it . I'll put you here in my TOP spot next to the cemetary! It has a heater! You can meet me at my house 1/2hr north from GWB and ride up with me so the driving don't get to ya.

Yup...That would get me excited for sure:yes:. Do you know if the good buck you shot was the one making those?

Awwww...He is adorable Kyle:). As others have said...be ready to smell him on the other side of the house when he poops:yes:.

In his 10,000sqft home that consumes more electricity in one month than any of us do in 2 years.( do what I say, not what I do). Waa waaa..its all Bush's fault...waaa waaa. He stole my presidency...waaa waaa. The problem is...the current administration is buying into it all and pushing it on the American people/world. Since they control the media...it keeps getting pounded in your head and eventually folks start believing it all. Good read Steve...thanks for sharing it.

Congrats New! Heck of a nice gift for sure . I think you will find as I did, the older smokepoles like loose powder. Yours might digest the pellets well, but I have an 80's era T/C that ONLY likes(will shoot accurately) loose powder.Loose Pyrodex only, it does not shoot loose 777 well or the 777 pellets. The pre lubed T/C Maxi Hunters(300gr) and Maxi Ball(350gr) are what I would recommend to put through that gun. The gun was made before the Power belts bullets and other Sabot bullets for MLer's. Find out your twist rate of the bbl. Slow twist for heavy bullets and fast twist for lighter ones. I think your bbl will have a 1:48" twist which should work out fine for the bullets I listed. T/C will also send you any paperwork they have on that gun if you call/email and ask for it. A 90gr charge will be delivering approx 1100lbs of energy at 100 yds. Over that magical 1000lb threshold at 100 yards to cleanly kill deer sized game. Clean with HOT HOT water and soap and lube well so rust does not appear. I like T/C bore butter . Good Luck with it and enjoy!

Hang 'em high...these folks should not be able to own a gun or hunt again in their lives.

Congrats on the winning the prize! Let us know how the shiny surface hold up to scratches and transport through the woods. It certainly looks invisible when the outline can be concealed.

WTG Griz...God Bless you pal.

My wife saying ... The brakes don't make that noise anymore I forgot to tell you about last week. Now they make this new grinding noise:bang:

My son and I were fans of Realtree Roadtrips and anything Waddell and during the shows, there were advertisements promoting Realtree.com I went there clicked a few clicks and it has been almost 5 years...maybe more since I am here. Made some good friends here too .

Wow Mike...I hope all is going well and your on the mend. Maybe you will be able to salvage some of the season left. Prayers headed your way bud.

Yes, those coons can reek havoc on small ponds and the fish that inhabit them. One ate over $200 worth of Koi on a friend of mine! That coon is now dead. I might make a coon skin hat Steve. I have 3 really big hides that I need to tan. So a hat is a possibility.

2009-2010 RT Forum Deer Contest - DEER PHOTO ENTRY
Adjam5 replied to texastrophies's topic in Announcements & Online Contests
Official pic of me with doe and very cool hat . Tag for doe (doe tags are transferable in NYS). -
OK back from camp. Got the pic of my doe and I for the contest . I missed a good buck on drive, as did 2 others...the same buck! I was shooting uphill about 100 yards and hit a tree . Eh...it happens. But that day produced 4 deer, one buck. Not bad. Most important...it was all done safely. The hunting pressure seems to have slowed by us. But the hard core are still at it. We have six more days of gun season left then one week of muzzleloading and thats it. I will be back up Thursday afternoon while I still am able to get up there. My Dr says I should be ready to go back to work in 3 weeks or so. That is GREAT news!

My pics are NG. I am not in them. I will be headed back up to camp this afternoon, to take a pic with the deer hanging in my shed. It might be a silly self taken cell phone pic. Like the kind you do with your girl in the car:clown:. I am going to give it a few more tries to get a buck. The weather has been VERY hot here. 55*! I had to make a call to a friend upstate and have him pack my does chest with ice so she don't spoil. I will be back on Tuesday. Good Luck team and hunt safe! Anthony BTW...I might be back to work right after Christmas! Knee is healing well .

2 years ago I paid $495 for my son Joes buck. Cash got me faster service and 50% down made him finish the buck even faster. Dropped it off in Nov got it back in March. We are happy with the work he did. Everyone around here gets about $4-500 to shoulder mount a buck with 6 months the usual turn around time.
