Hmmm... don't anyone wear Red Wings for work boots? I have worn these boots for about 15 tears now and maybe on my 4th or 5th pair. I keep getting them resoled til the uppers give out. The uppers last about 5 years with proper care. They are still hand made here in the US, but be careful. They have imported Red Wings also.

Sorry for your loss. I know what pets can mean to people. She had a good life I am sure with you.

Yes the white stuff falling gently Christmas eve would be welcomed. We have a little snow on the ground now, but it is way too cold to snow 17* now. A balmy 7* at deer camp where I will be trekking the the late AM tomorrow.

Yes I do remember that pic Chris. You must be proud and so should her folks. Hope she does well.

PM me your addy or call me. I'll send you a few .

I have had muscle cars and recently gotten rid of my 69 bird convertible after 26 years, so I am leaning more towards the luxury truck market. Top of the line GMC/Chevy duellie or a King Ranch with a 8' bed.

That is a good idea Matt. I use Tyvek suits when hunting in the snow. I get them from work. They keep the wind out and the heat in. Maybe a bit too much though. I need to unzip the neck area for heat escape. They are a bit noisy to walk with. So I put it on when I get there over my clothes. I have had people walk right past me and never even know I was there. Good camo for sure. Picture not to hi jack...just to share on topic with snow camo.

Thanks for the heads up Matt. I have Gander stand still in the box that I never hung. I wonder if that is one of them. It is up at the country house so I don't know its model #. Rest assured I will look this weekend.

Those sound like old Henny Youngman jokes. You might be too young to remember him. You want lame... Why is 6 afraid of 7? Cause 7 ate 9 :crutch:Lame enough?

Sorry that happened to you. I feel for ya pal...I am smarting myself from a recent theft. It makes ya a bit down on people...I understand. But there are way more honest folks than crooked ones. If that is any consolation. Did ya file a report with the police? Park Rangers?

I have the Wolf and it shoots OK out to 100 yards. It prefers the 777 pellets and 295gr Powerbelt bullets. It is a economy minded smokepole. The ram rod is flimsy and the stock could use a better pattern for gripping with gloves on. But I paid $135 for it without a scope. Can't go wrong. The Optima has a nice thumbhole stock and a bit longer barrel than the Wolf. Better velocities. It is also offered in a Nickel silver finish and camo stock. The Wolf just comes in black. The Optima Elite is a bargain compared to the T/C Encore. From what I understand it is just about half the price of the T/C. You have the option also to change barrels and calibers that the Wolf does not give you. Also look here for great muzzleloading info. http://www.realtree.com/bluelk/

That is prime fur right there. Get 'em he is eating your deers apples! I don't eat them either. Yote bait for trapping.

Nice pics Mike. If you could shoot 'em with the cam you could have shot 'em period. Is that a Joy-see sunrise?

I have 3 boxes of the LR ammo I got on sale at Gander Mtn for 19.99 ea. I have not shot them yet. With the distances I hunt deer with my rifle. I will not see any improvement that the LR will bring. If I was taking shot 150 yards and beyond it would be my go to ammo. But I am still using 150gr FN Speer Nitrex ammo in my Marlin 30/30. When I run out of that I will go to the LR. Ranger Clay on this board uses LR ammo and he said he has had great results with it. With that load, it becomes a 200 yard cartridge. I have other rifles to get that distance and the energy needed to kill deer sized game cleanly out to 200 yards and better.

Yeah Baby! Go Randy Go! Congrats on being selected for that show. It is one of my favorites. Bob Munden, Jerry Michulek and Byron Ferguson are some GREAT company to be in. Your future is endless. -
The Duck is dead. A woman brought a very limp duck to a vet. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head sadly and said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away." The distressed woman wailed, "Are you sure?" "Yes, I am sure. The duck is dead," replied the vet. "How can you be so sure?" she protested... "I mean you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something." The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head. The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room. The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck." The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman. The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$250?" she cried, "$250 just to tell me my duck is dead?" The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan, it's now $250." :clown: Have you heard this one Todd?

What should Santa put in President Obama's Christmas stocking?

A copy of the Constitution and a few history books on how socialism don't work. -
Shot a few minutes early or later than legal...nope Put more shots in your shotgun tube than the state allows...nope Shot something out of season...nope Shot something and then bought the tag for it later - Or - used someone else's tag...nope I have plenty of tags. Didn't tag it at all...NEVER. Trespassed on purpose, even if it was just to look...Nope I have my own land and want the boundaries respected. So I do the same. Didn't wear orange when you should have - even after you were in a treestand...Orange not mandatory in NYS. But I wear it when I do drives with others. Illegally parked your car...Yup...always when taking Mom or Pop to the Dr. Getting them closest to the door is my priority, not parking regs. Never when hunting. Drove on public land to get a deer instead of dragging it...Nope do not hunt public land...ever. Shot a deer, then dragged it to the road and put blood on your headlights and told the police you hit it (yikes) - anything...Your kidding here right? My bow comfort zone is 35 yards...that is it. 20 with the recurve. I have 3 sons who are all Lifetime hunting and fishing licensees as am I. I raise them to follow the letter of the law every time we hunt and in life in general. I am the outcast with some of my neighbors I socialize with by our hunting camp. I report all my kills, tag all my deer and follow the letter of the law. I am without a bow kill buck since 2004. I hunt in a place where there are antler restrictions(3 on a side). I cannot tell you how bad I want to shoot another buck. But I can tell you all of the restricted bucks I have let pass in the years. I hunt private property and I know I could shoot it, butcher it and be done with no evidence...but that is not how I like to ply my sport. I really value this sport of OURS and would be way too embarrassed to face ANY charges of illegal activity regarding hunting or trapping. I still have to look in the mirror. I am not perfect, but when it comes to hunting...I toe the line. Now if you asked if I ever left work early without telling my foreman...guilty as charged:surrender:...but it was to hunt so it was OK...How'd ya like that rationale?

Thanks for the comments guys. I will be sending out a box shortly for tanning with all types of fur that I have trapped this year so far. Mostly coons, one yote, a bobcat and this fisher. I have to say any animal that seeks out a porcupine to eat has to be one bad azz critter. I think the Fisher has become my favorite weasel
-
That should work. But be careful you do not get any of the neighbors dogs or pets. Domestic animals use the same scent trails as wild animals do. Are you talking about using a 330 Conibear? That set should take anything that pokes its head into it. We cannot set conibears on the ground in NYS.
