  1. Realtree Hardwoods 20-200 pattern. It has secret messages hidden in it:D. It really does!
  2. I agree with William. Cat Crap is the best stuff I have used to prevent fogging. I wear glasses and heat up pretty good getting to my stand(s), nothing keeps my glasses clear like cat crap. Listen..it is not actually Cat crap. Just the name of the product Silly Gary. I have read that dishwashing soap does the same thing. Rub some on the surface and buff it with a soft lintless rag, and it should provide fog protection til it gets wet.
  3. Rugers are tough as nails Jeramie. You will be happy with this gun. Good Luck with it.
  4. My sons showed me a rifle in a magazine that they wanted and I looked into it. A very cool .22 rimfire. Looks exactly like a HK MP5. It is a fake suppressor on the barrel that allows it to have the 16 1/4" needed by law to be a rifle. The only thing is...in Commie NY, you can ONLY have 10 rd mags . But this is what I will get my sons for Christmas. I cannot wait to trick it all out with a red dot, laser and light. As a .22 you can shoot it all day with minimal cost. Pretty bad azz looking plinker/squirrel gun. Don't cha say?
  5. I love my ole lever gun. Marlin 30-30 AS. I think it was the least expensive of the Marlin lever guns(all I could afford at the time). It was my 1st deer rifle and I have taken many deer with it. Scratches...who cares...dings...who cares...It is light and short. Perfect for my thick woods. I have taken varmints with it using 55gr accelerators also. The collection has gotten larger since, but this is the rifle I grab when I hunt our NY woods.
  6. Time does fly over here. Congrats on your anniversary. Thanks for being part of it all. The members make this place, the GREAT place it is. Of course it took Mr. Jordan to bring us all together:D
  7. Yup... I 'd have to agree about the amount of smiles Luke has put on others faces with that tasty syrup of his:clap:. WTG Luke.

    Yard Sign....

This is the one I got a few months ago. A great sign that says it all.
  9. What appeals to you most about where you live? What do you like the least about where you live?
  10. My wife and I discussed getting engaged and she told me what she wanted. A Marquis center stone. With that in mind off to the jewelers I went. I bought the setting in one place and bought the stone in the Diamond district in NYC. I spent $3K on her ring back in 87. She don't have that ring anymore...It was stolen by a kid(8 years old at the time) on our block. We never got it back . Police were involved, but that is another story. The second ring I had to buy her to replace the stolen one cost me almost 2x what I paid for the 1st one. Get ring insurance...take my word for it. Spend what you can afford. The meaning behind it means soo much more than the price of the ring. Good Luck.
  11. Congrats to you! Raising 'em right . The best of times are ahead of you.
  12. That was an interesting read Heavy... I have two Marlins. One a 70's manufacture and another 80's manufacture. Both have the micro groove barrel. I shoot 150gr jacketed bullets with 1 1/2 groups at 100 yards. I cannot ask for more than that with that type action out of a factory gun. My buddy got possession of a Marlin made in 1964 in .35 Rem. The "Marauder". That also had the Micro groove bbl. He put the lever revolution through the gun and the gun loved it. The 8 ring on the 1st shot after bore sighting it at 100 yards. Full lead bullets should not be used in rifles with Micro groove rifling. Ballard rifling is for cast bullets. Cowboy action stuff. Marlin is making leverguns today with both types of rifling, since the Cowboy action shooting sports have took off. Gator...Marlin recommends the Lever revolution ammo.
  13. Good buck. I think it has Lil Struts name on it:D. That Cuddeback takes some nice pics. Real thick woods too there Don. Our woods look the same with all those maple leaves on the forest floor. Deer suck 'em up like candy.
  14. Ken, The .223 Wylde chamber was designed as a match chambering for semi-automatic rifles. It will accommodate both .223 Rem and 5.56mm NATO ammunition. It is relieved in the case body to aid in extraction and features a shorter throat for improved accuracy.
  15. I'd say he is 3 1/2. Why? His legs look like they fit him and his body is somewhat proportionate. Muscular. Maybe in the 140's. Good luck getting him.
  16. That is one BIG molly for sure. Congrats Tim!
  17. Cool Jeramie...I wish you guys the best of luck in getting it going . Will you sell in a co-op type market or have your own stand somewhere? 1st thing that came to mind when you mentioned a 6' tiller was...food plots!
  18. Mike...give Tink a call. I'll PM you his # I think he is there now. You can get a live update:D. BTW...go wack a BIG one ! Have a blast.
  19. Since the gun is as good as bought Ken, I would like to be the 1st to welcome you to the Evil Black Rifle Club:toot:. I have 3 AR's. A Colt H Bar, Bushmaster lower with a Colt Upper and a Stag Arms lower with a Rock River M4 upper. I am happy with the performance of all 3. The Colt is a paper puncher , the Bushy, a yote gun and the Stag M4 a plinker/ home defense gun. If you start with a name brand lower, you'd be good to go. The upper has most of the moving parts. There are 2 different trigger types for factory guns. Single and 2 stage triggers for target shooters. Most AR's run on the gas impingement Stoner system. Which in comparison to the the newer designed AR's (Ruger,Sig and FN) are piston operated guns( like the AK) which are cleaner operating with far less maintenance. As other have said you can build one, have your armorer assit you at your Dept. Purchase the lower, either complete or stripped and you can do the same with the upper. As Hoosierbuck has said, the lower is "the gun" as far as ATFE is concerned. Everything else you can mail order. As a complete gun purchase, I'd give a good hard look at a Rock River. Colts are over priced. Whatever upper you get, consider a flat top. It will allow you to install whatever optics you choose or good steel battle sights. Oh yeah...chambers come in .223 and 5.56 NATO. While the calibers are the same, the cases are a bit different. You can shoot .223 out of a 5.56 rifle, but you cannot shoot 5.56 out of a .223 rifle. The bottle neck on the case has a bit of a different angle. Meant for positive extraction during battle conditions. Many more bullet weights are available for the .223 config than the 5.56 platform. Good Luck and enjoy the black gun .
  20. With the new ammo for the 30/30(lever revolution) and the heavier bullet weights available, shots under 100 yards. The 30-30 has the .243 beat IMO in this criteria. They even make a 55gr accelerator round for varminting with the ole lever gun. A handy and versatile little rifle. I think the 30-30 will do her well.
  21. Who was your outdoor mentor? Who are your Outdoor heros? How long have you been hunting /trapping?( I think you trap).
  22. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I have 3 sons of my own who too are hunters and outdoorsmen. When we are afield, I stay back with the camera and marvel as they do their thing, and things I have taught. Brings tears to my eyes. My best times ever afield, have been with my sons. I know what your feeling .
