  1. Congrats to you! Good story and better shooting! Gonna mount him? The detergent you wash your camo in does a good job of killing the UV on your camo. The camo almost looks photoshopped.
  2. Ross...is this still available? I am out of work with a torn ACL currently...BUT...I did refinance and lower my mortgage by $181/month:) Sorry for taking so long to answer after I sounded so hot for the cam. If it is gone...I don't blame ya for not waiting.
  3. Ruth...I used no special wrench to change the forend of my son Joes .20ga Mossberg Bantam 500 to the adult sized stock. After twisting the end cap off the mag tube, the slide rails in the receiver should be able to fall out. When that happens the whole fore end can be pulled off and the slide rails placed back into the receiver lining up with the bolt. The slide rails are what moves the bolt back and forth. No special tools are needed. Do you have the manual? If not I have an extra one that I can send you.
  4. Looking verrry nice Wialliam. Before long you will be having some sweet tea out on that deck thinking of the mud pile your in now. Stay in touch..let me know what kind of panel you are installing. I have lots of breakers:).
  5. Call coming Matt...This one won't make ya pissed off:). Hang in there pal. Nothing lasts forever.
  6. The Ambassador of bowmanship...Mr Randy Oitker and overall great guy. Always doing the right thing Randy. WTG!

    Ten Years

Congrats Mike...may you guys have very many more in the future:). Enjoy the night away from the kids.
  8. How about a pic of the handi work? A lot more staples than I thought, 13 in all. Still very sore and therapy starts on Wednesday right after the staples are removed. Looking forward to moving on and getting this behind me. Thanks again for the well wishes.

    Just STOP!!!

One good thing about all this rain was the great antler growth on the bucks this year. That is the ONLY thing. Yup... weekend looks like it will be wet.
  10. I love that history Texas has... Thanks for sharing that.

    Thanks!

The live hunt info is very cool Tim. Thanks for taking us along! Any pics?
  12. Thanks Christina:). I hurt it at work carrying material down a ramp and I stepped on something and twisted my knee. "deerslayer2295- I hope you feel better soon, because I can sympathize with you. I had my acl replaced several years ago, but they used a section from a cadaver." Yup that was the procedure a few years ago. Using cadaver parts for repair. They have come a long way. Did ya see the link I posted on the procedure? They used a piece of my hamstring to fix it...cool. I have to see the Dr today at 2 and most likely have the bandages removed. They are talking aggressive therapy. 2-3x a week:eek:. I am hoping to be back to work by the new year. Thank you everyone for the well wishes:).
  13. Hey Team...I had surgery yesterday and all seemed to go well. I hurts, but not as bad as I thought it would. When my son Joe comes home today, we are going to fling a few sticks in the backyard. I will be shooting from a chair to see how my form is. I have never bowhunted from the ground, always from my summit climber. I think I might be able to get out there with the bow, before our gun season comes Nov 17th. Go team Vital Hits! Hunt safe y'all.

    Realtree Kid....

What a adorable little boy! Jen and you did a great job Kyle. Very cool the way you decked out his room. Gotta get him one of those suction cup/nerf rifles so he can use his crib as a ground blind to shoot that stuffed deer toy:clown:.
  15. You never learn a lesson, like the one that costs you money.
  16. Just want to let my Realtree family know all seems to have went well this morning. I was nervous about it all. Yeah big bad Anthony was scared a bit about going under the knife. I tore my ACL on Sept4th on the job. So...my Dr used some of my hamstring in the same leg to replace my ACL(anterior cruciate ligament). Pretty cool procedure. He drilled a path from my tibia to my femur diagonally, pulled the replacement ACL through the path and fastened it with a screw and a washer on both sides. http://www.sportsknee.com/education_aclhamstringkatek.htm It hurts like heck and the nerve block they gave me to numb my leg is wearing off...so it looks like I will be taking one of those pills very soon that make me so very Ga Ga. This will be me for a week or two:crutch:. BUT... It looks like I might even be able to bowhunt late this season! I need to have my son build me a blind behind the house. No climbing trees just yet. Watch out wide 8, oops I mean wide 7. He broke off his G3 on his left side. Anyway...I would like to thank all of you who have sent prayers my way and even those that did not pray and just thought about me in their busy day. I will keep y'all posted on the healing process.

    im back

Good to see ya Ryan and thanks for your service .
  18. Way cool Randy...Way cool! Looking forward to the show and the surprise.
  19. Hey Tim, you had a great time with your wife and daughter. Too bad no shooters got in your range and what luck to have a landowner who hasn't been around for 10 years start doing stuff on the days you were hunting so close by:bummed:. Get home safe and thanks for sharing this hunt with us all.
  20. You know how bears love fatty stuff. The Chinese food place I go to in Sullivan when I am up there always gets bears at its dumpster the guy tells me. As far as how much attractant you are allowed to have. I found nothing on DEC's site that says anything regarding that. You just cannot leave food or anything that is edible for the animals to eat. If you were slopping bacon fat on a tree and hunting over it..I'd say that would be a violation. Baiting It is illegal to hunt with the aid of bait, or over any baited area when hunting big game, upland game birds, turkey or waterfowl. Go get a good one, hunt safe and have fun.

    Water Softners

Chris..check out this water softener...no chemicals no maintenance. It is a bit pricey...hook it up and walk away. http://www.easywater.com/ My wife and I were considering this one. We have very hard water here and the lime build up in the bathroom bites.
  22. From what I have read Brudaman...99% of all bears will avoid human confrontations...but you do not want to run into that 1% that won't . I am sure you know about getting inbetween a sow and cubs. Don't do it. I have also heard of a bacon fat burn being used to draw in bears. I have never done it, only heard how to. Take a coffee can full of bacon fat and place it over one of those propane burners that act like a single stove sitting on top of the gas bottle. Fire it up and if there is a bear in the area it will come to the fat burning smell. That is legal, no bait, just creating a scent. Have fun and Good Luck!
  23. Nothing cool brisk air to get a hunters heart pumping . It has been in the high 40's here also in the am.
  24. Hang in there Wooly...prayers headed your way.
