William did you see Lou Dobb's report tonight? Part of it was about the Tennessee newspapers making the list of who has pistol permits public record and very accessible to whomever wants that info. Names and address' of everyone who has a pistol license in Tennessee! Insane stuff is happening everywhere. This has already happened in our neck of the woods. Our local paper has kept up on its website, on the Crime page; the data base of all the pistol licensees in ours and surrounding counties. They said it is public record and the public should know who has guns. This is just an anti 2nd amendment stance that is led by a very liberal newspaper looking to OUT gun owners. So much for privacy huh? I say this...

All I can say is WOW! Not a gas tax, but a carbon emissions tax. Not a gun ban, but a bullet tax. No new taxes, but wealth redistribution. What is next a breathing tax? Oh man this country is in a nose dive:(.

Incredible that no one helped. Maybe the Redsox took the last pair of cojones with them on the road that week. So many people that just did not care. Boston is lucky to have LEO's that put their money where their mouth is, in the form of protecting the public. Police have a tough job for sure. Is this what society has become?

I was also surprised William. But Lou Dobbs' report has always been a conservative point of view promoting America and family values. You have to like that Wyoming Senator Barasso, and where he stands on Obamtism and the 2nd amendment;). I need to visit Wyoming like I have seen Texas.

Yeah Steve, we are expecting a rough winter for our deer herds also. The snow is very deep, which makes it treacherous for the deer, but perfect for the yotes:rolleyes:. I have been out a lot in our suburban hunting area, and our rural hunting areas, and have not found any winter kill...yet. I have spent a lot of time hinge cutting saplings for the deer on our upstate land and from weekend to weekend, those twig tips have been devoured. We can't feed in NY so , this is the best we can do to help the herd. In suburbia, there is a lot of landscaping for the deer to eat, so there rarely starve like their upstate counterparts. Doc I hunt not far from where that little girl was killed in Sullivan county last deer season. This was the buzz all over town. Not one of the hunters I hunt with there( except my son Joe) uses a slug gun. That so called hunter, who killed that little girl was breaking all kinds of rules when that tragedy happened. He was hunting over bait, shot an illegal buck(less than 3pts on one side) and was less than 500' from the trailer when the incident occurred. BTW, he was using a .300 win mag. His actions are lawlessness to the umteenth degree. Since then there was an effort to restrict rifles in Sullivan. Hunting there has been very attractive for NYC city hunter because of the close proximity to the city. The city hunters have all but taken the blame for that tragedy( the man who killed that baby was from NYC). The Sullivan legislature has voted NOT to restrict the use of rifles in the county and surrounding areas. We would like to think that everyone going afield with a firearm has the common sense to know rule #2 Know your target and what is beyond it. In the dense woods I hunt. My 23 years afield has never presented me with a shot beyond 78 yards in NYS. My 30/30 is an ideal weapon for that. This is a good thread and a lot of important issues are being raised and discussed. My son Joe uses a Mossberg shotgun because it is the 1st gun he ever paid for on his own, and I bought him for Christmas, when he turned 16; a .20ga slug barrel/scope for it. I have a battery of centerfires he could choose and use, but he wants to use his own gun.

OK, it looks like poor taxidermy. No question. But can it be just a genetic defect and the buck had ears that were not normal? I mean even some people have ears that look like they don't belong. Do we know for sure it is just bad work? Just look at all them splits in the tines, it was not normal/typical to begin with.
