They are one of my faves. I can't get "Cowgirls don't cry" out of my head lately:D. Hillbilly Deluxe is a good one too;). Have a great time and take some pics!

Lori, here is the difference in meat. Axis on the left and whitetail on the right. The Axis almost has a veal color...tender....mmmmmm:D
-
Now Lori, you have to schedule a hunt with Tim down in the Texas Hill country for Axis:D. You can hunt exotics all year without limit in Texas! $45 license fee...thats it! Kerrville,TX has the largest population of free ranging Axis in the country. They are also found in many places like Florida also. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axis_axis

Found a good bow for a kid I'm mentoring

I applaud you for what you are doing. Positive influences are what today's kids need. Bless you;) -
I started my sons out with a peep and a release on the Micro Midas 3. I'm thinking peepless would be good with finger shooting and instinctive aiming , while a peep would be better shooting with a release. The anchor points are different for each style releasing the string. Trying to shoot both styles got my form mixed up, and I was snap shooting my Matthews like my recurve. T Bone has some advice on the peep or no peep. http://www.realtree.com/tbone/

See Ruth... Steve was kind with the photo chop:D. Congrats again on your hard work.

I have to thank Luke for putting the bug you know where. He let us all know about the BIG sale the Realtree store was having and I had to look and I got hooked:D. I ordered enough to qualify for free shipping and boy did the stuff come fast! Got Joe a forum shirt and a few stickers, got that straw cowboy hat to ride the mower with, some Realtree marinade and Best of season 1 Road trips. Oh and that white Realtree hat...you can't get that anywhere...not even the Realtree store. I'll never say where I got that one, but the smart ones will figure it out;) There is still a load of bargains to be gotten folks...many items under $10!
-
Are you 3 on each side or a 4 and a fork? With the way you grew, I'd say non typical:p:D. Congrats on the head gear.
-
That is a shame for sure, and for what? Just to kill? Poachers are just some really rotten people:mad:. Now your season in PA is closed correct? Was she legal to harvest during deer season? In NYS there are no regs against taking piebald or albino, when in season.

Real nice pic Ruth. Be proud of your achievements, I know we are here at Realtree. You will be one heck of a nurse;).

:D:p:D Congrats Chris...You had my vote;). There were also some very good deer entered into the contest and a BIG congrats to all who harvested a deer this year. Thank you Jeff for also running the contest:)

OK...there have been a lot of threads on this subject. Do a search and see what you can come up with. I am a Life member there and regret it. When it was a small family owned club( The Burke family), is when I got on board, the Mid 1980's. It was purchased by a European investment firm and they turned it into a full scale, money generating operation. What it has become is a company that is FOR profit and makes no bones about it. You will get inundated with solicitations from all over. The "Club" basically is a organization that you pay to join, so they can sell you products with their logo on it. They sell your info to other companies to market you items, and even send items without you asking for them. Then it becomes your job to ship it back at a cost to you. I also used to be a frequent visitor to their website, until I noticed PETA and save the seals ads on it. When I complained about those ads, I was told that it was the google bots that take certain words off of the site and advertise according to those words that are acquired from the site. They also placed pages and pages in their magazine of "male enhancement ads" "tobacco ads" and "alcohol promotion ads", regardless of mine and others objections that were posted on their forum. They ads continued, I posted about them also and was silenced by having my posting privileges suspended. That was the last I ever went on their website and I notified them about how I wanted to be taken off of all their mailing lists and contacts. The ONLY good thing I liked about the NAHC was, the field testers program. They would send you free items for you to test and write a review about. After the review, you got to keep whatever they sent. I have only gotten small items like bug spray and a cleaning jag for muzzleoaders. But others have gotten firearms, boots binocs ect. Your mailbox will be flooded with offers and they also run the NA fishing club, NA gardening club, NA handymans club...all merchandising companies. I have no issues with any company that is for profit...Hey thats the American way, but they seem to care more about selling your name and their bottom line than actually REALLY being about hunting. They sent me the Life member leather jacket, which I will never wear. That is how strongly I feel about the NAHC. Atleast I get a lifetime magazine subscription. Do a search here on Realtree and read other opinions...obviously, I am biased:p Here a few links I found on a quick Google search. http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/323/RipOff0323038.htm http://forums.basspro.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=003554 http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/north-american-hunting-club-c110931.html

You practically stole this rifle! Sweet deal for sure Is a a Husquarvarna action or a Mauser? Good luck with it!

I has a great weekend with no complaints at all. Weather was great, got to shoot my bow with my son Joe, had Tim Andrus over for dinner, got to the Outdoor Expo Tim was speaking at, also went to a gun show early Sunday morning. No, I didn't buy anything, prices were over inflated on everything. Supply and demand at work. Looking forward to the upcoming week of warmer weather.
