  1. Re: how often to you guys buy new bows My 1st bow was a 1989 Bear Whitetail legend, shot that up until 2004 when I became a Mathews Outback owner So I'm averaging 15 or so years inbetween! But I'll be upgrading soon...my oldest son has his eyes on my Outback...I have 3 sons so it looks like every 3 or so years now I'll be buying a new bow! Thats a good thing!
  2. Re: NY 2005 Deer Harvest I am excited about the pilot antler restriction program set into place last year in 3C and 3J. There was a 52% decrease in the buck take in that area. That means that most if not all are following the new restrictions. Thats gonna leave a whole bunch of 2 1/2 year old bucks for that area next year. That should make the hunters happy
  3. Re: micro midas 3 Yes it can. There is a 20-30lb model and a 30-40lb model. Most can pull 20lbs. This is what makes those Browning bows so attractive.
  4. Re: Mel Brooks Marathon!! "typical man ... 8 or 9 times then off with the boys...WOOF!" "Why dag gum I wuz born ere, I wuz raised ere and dag nab it I'm gonna die here. Ain't no way, no how, no hornswagglin sidewinding cracker croaker... is gonna ruin my biscuit cutter" Now who can argue with that? Good Moring Mam'...aint it a fine day? Up yours N******! Lets say Blazing Saddles was to be re made. Who should play the parts? Definitley Dave Chappelle as the sheriff, Mels still around, so is Harvey Korman and Gene Wilder. Who could play Lilly Von Schtuup, Mongo and Mr.Taggart ect?
  5. Re: Food Plot Service (please help) Perhaps you can also offer a "How to" of food plots and have different tiers of service, like just tilling and fertilizer, spraying or just starting the plot for the customer. I think you will find your niche that many people are getting into planting for wildlife food supplements. Good Luck!
  6. Re: micro midas 3 I bought the micro midas 3 for my son 3 years ago. One of the great things about this bow is that fact the draw lenth can be adjusted without the use of a bow press. The draw lenth on that bow varies from 18-28". It also come in 20-30 and 30-40lbs. If you are a growing young man, just getting into archery, I highly reccomend this bow. My son took his 1st deer with a Browning Micro Midas3 with 75gr muzzys. It runs about $200-$240 new from what I've seen. If you can pull more than 40 lbs, and are still growing...also look at the Browning Rage 50lbs. It too is another no bow press adjustable bow with great performance. I also reccomend a whisker biscuit rest for younger archers. Browning bows are made by PSE with some bow models for Browning ONLY. It is a good bow for the money and the performance. Good Luck!
  7. Re: What have you owned 1st bow -1989 Bear Whitetail legend 2nd bow and current one Mathews Outback
  8. Re: WASP JACKHAMMERS, WHAT DO YOU THINK?? I used them once. 100grainers. They performed good for me and I recovered both my deer. Full penetration of my arrow. I still have one left over. This site here has a little write up on those heads. Broadhead tests.com

    String Loops

Re: String Loops If you go with the string loop, put a drop of super glue on the knots. It helps keep it tight.
  10. Re: Anyone do their own taxidermy??? I have done only small stuff ,Like antlers on plaques, turkey fans, skull cleaning and whitening.
  11. Re: Deer skull You can boil it until its clean, but the fat in the meat turns the skull a bit yellow. If you don't wan to get into the whole boiling thing, you can have dermestid beetles eat all the flesh away. Look here for them beetle info If you want to go the boil route, boil and scrape until all the meat is off. Use a hanger or strong wire to scramble the brains out. Beareful around the nasal cavity. Now for the whitening... DON'T USE BLEACH! it will make the bones brittle and they will fall apart. Peroxide is the way to go. I have used beauty supply peroxide40%. Others have also used regular peroxide, like found in the drug store. Covered it with cotton wrap and soaked the cotton with the peroxide. It whitens it also, but takes a bit longer. I have coated the skulls I have done with the 40% peroxide and it has come out good with no brittle bones. There is a powder that some mix with the peroxide to make a paste od some kind. I think it is magnesiuim carbonate. I don't know where to find it, so I just use plain 40% peroxide. Good Luck!

  14. Re: Some BC 06 Shedhunting Pics Thats awesome stuff. Days like that with the kids are the best ones. I put bountys on sheds, feathers, carcasses and bones for my boys. As incentives to scour my 62acres.

  16. Re: True but nasty!!! Thats a cool and nasty fact... Thanks for sharing it.
  17. Re: 100 gr or 125 gr that is the question? I don't think it makes much of a difference on whitetails. Hit 'em in the boiler room and they go down. Accuracy would dictate which heads I'd use.
  18. Re: Crossbows...good or not? If the weapon is legal in your state, then by all means use it to hunt with. Use whatever resources you have to hunt with...as long as you hunt. I am going thru this discussion now on another BB about wether crossguns are bows. Take a look at this info... crossgun comparisons I don't feel it should be in archery season either. But I will support anyones right to hunt whatever way is legal. IMO, The thrill of taking game with a compound, long or recurve is much more thrilling to me than just pulling the trigger....IMO. OK? I gun hunt too, but my passion is the BOW.
  19. Re: Cupid shoots a Mathews!!! Hey Joe...Looks like you hit that squirrel in the same spot you hit that doe, better move your pins a bit to the right a bit Tominators right ...I don't need to be chasing any more deer into the river for you , move your pins and don't torque it so much
  20. Re: Cupid shoots a Mathews!!! Tominator...I though Cupid was supposed to be cute? He needs a shave! Here is some cupid humor.... But maybe someone can do a photoshop job with Squirrelhunter91 with this cartoon... Whadda ya say?

    Home Owners

Re: Home Owners I think that Zillow.com is a little off with their prices. The house next to me is all original with gavanized plumbing and a 60amp fuse elect. service with no finished basement, and it is listed as 50k more than mine which is practically rebuilt. I also have a pool too! But the satellite photo is cool though.
  24. Re: SELLERS and BUYERS info post Sold a Black powder powder horn to PAHardwoods. Great communication and prompt payment. Thanks Cody!
