  1. Re: WOW! Prices Of Handgun Ammo!!! I am right there with everybody, it cost to much just to shoot and practice. I love my 454, but over a dollar a bullet its hard to pull the trigger to many times. Most of the time when I shot, I shot 45 cowboy rounds.
  2. Have any of you used the Imperial No Plow food plot mix, if so what are your thoughts. Also does Imperial have a wesite? Thanks!
  3. Re: HELP!!! shot a buck today high back will he die??? What where the results, did you get it?????
  4. Re:passing deer-frustration setting in(pics added) Kidd is right if its dead how can it grow anymore. That is just a risk that you have to take by letting it walk to see if it makes it through the season. I let a 6 with great potential walk on friday and the guy next to me shot at him on saturday and missed, so hopefully he will make it til next year and be much bigger. Also that 7 point in the pics has some potential, by letting him grow, he could end up being your biggest deer you have ever killed in the future. I am in the same boat with you, stay strong and your patients will pay off one day and youll be glad you waited!!!!
  5. Re: What\'s up with me and Road pics!! Thats Crazy, thats another reason why I am PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!
  6. Quick question about scouting during season. Does it spook the deer around a stand site when you go walking through the woods looking for sign? I went out today, but was very hesitant about doing to much for the fear of messing up my stand site. I had on rubber boots and sprayed them with scent away too. How many of you scout around your stand during the season and what are your thoughts on doing it?
  7. Re: Lets see your gutting knife This is normally not thought of as a sporting/skinning knife, but CutCo has a great knife for skinning. Yes they are a little bit more, but with a FOREVER warranty and you can send it back to the factory when/if it gets dull and they will sharpen it for FREE, and replace if damaged. That knife is about shape enough if you look at it wrong it will cut you. Also comes in a great leather sheeth.
  8. Can anyone tell me where I can get a breach plug wrench for a Knight Muzzleloader. I am not exactly sure what model it is, but it fires with musket caps and has the double safety on it. It has a black stock and is indented on the butt like a Ruger and says Knight on it. I wanna say that I herd someone call it an American Hunter one time, but not sure????? Anyway, I bought it from a pawn shop and it did not come with a wrench and I have looked every where it seems for one. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    code blue

Re: code blue I am a user of the stuff!!! Shot my biggest buck with the scent in the air!!! I know this is not typically how you use a scent wick, but heres how I do it and it has worked for me. Instead of hagning it on a tree out in front of the stand, I hang it in the stand with me. It puts out the scent and acts as a cover scent too. Ive had bucks come from down wind of me and they never smelled me becuase the nose was to the ground lookin for the doe.
  11. Re: What would you do??(hypothetical) Man thats terrible. I hunt private land so I never incounter that, but I know how you feel. Its like people telling where my fishing holes are on the lake, ahhhhh, all your hard work and someone else reaps the benefits...........

    the can

Re: the can Called up a good shooter with it, the only problem was he was on the hunt for her and as quick as he stepped in he stepped out. Tried callin him back but never saw him.
  13. Re: Best low light binos under $150? Ive got 10x50 Tasco's and I feel blind if I go in the woods with out them, esp. low light. Through them I can still make out whats goin on around my stand 15-20 minutes after I cant fully make it out with my eyes. Would have been in trouble last night if I did not have them. I was goin to get outta the stand, and I was gonna check to see if it was clear and I found a doe stand 10 yds from me in a brushy area. Without them I would have been BUSTED!!!!!!!
  14. Re: Wind Checker I second the lighter, works GREAT and you dont have to worry about a mess if the powder spills!
  15. I still can not get my bow as quite as I would like for it to be. It seems to be louder on release than other bows Ive herd. I have a Parker Hunter Mag, and I have put pretty much everything on it, silence wise. It has limb blocks, and string spider, limb saver on the end of the stabilizer, and a limb saver bumper on the string guide. I have gone over and made sure that everything is tight on the bow as well. Do yall have any idea as to why I still cant get it as quite as others? I have a sting loop on it. Also does a release make a difference?
  16. Re: Must have Deer Gear I feel like I am blind without my binoculars. I have a pair of 10x50 (yeah I know big, but gah do they brighten up the dark) A good pair of binoculars is a definate must!!!!!
  17. I have not hunted in the a.m. this year, but with it gettin cooler, I am soon to do so. One problem that I encountered last year was walking into my stand, atleast an hour before sun up and I would get blown at by a deer or two. I even changed my way into the stand, walk as soft as possible and I have a green light, with the wind in my face. Any tips on what to do and if it is even worth stayin at that stand after being blown at?
  18. Re: Ward Burton to make his return. Why did he leave in the first place?? Glad to see him back too!
  19. Re: trail cam Ive got the same model, so far I have not had any trouble with the battery life. I left it out for two weeks the other week and when I went to get it it had 56% left on it. The only thing I dont like about that camera is its triggering of taking pictures. The motion range seems to narrow and trigger speed could be faster. But a digital that is only 100$ and takes good pictures, I guess you cant expect perfection.
  20. I am thinking of buying a scent dropper and putting it over a mock scrape and was wondering how well they worked and which ones were the best? Thanks!
