  1. Nothing yet. Came close but we'll see what happens this weekend.
  2. heck of run that sure isn't over. congratulations! quite the accomplishment.
  3. first morning I've gone out here. one step behind them all morning. Called in 3 jakes. Setup, called in, and got busted by same long beard not 2 but 3 times. Then called two biggest longbeards of my life. they hung up twice and second time just out of range. probably trying again in the AM. quiting early though to do some striper fishing on the river. got a couple more weekends this month but action dies quick late May.
  4. Called in 3 jakes. Setup, called in, and got busted by same long beard not 2 but 3 times. Then just called two biggest longbeards of my life. they hung up twice and second time just out of range. Can only hunt until noon here so headed back toward truck.
  5. seems like a decent design. I've got more turkey ammo than I know what to do with so I haven't tried anything new in a while.
  6. the hay should be getting taller by now so hopefully I can get out again before I can't see them. those in the pictures were all secondary holes. the primary ones have some pretty big mounds. going to have to get a shovel or to fix them. can't use the tractor as it was too wet and now I'd knock down too much hay.
  7. cool video I actually took video last spring of a jake that came thundering up over the hill. I called him away from a hen that got pretty aggravated. after an hour or so she finally flew to the other end of the field. you can hear it sounds like you switched to a mouth diaphragm.
  8. Frigid Forage makes stuff called Plot Screen maybe check that out. Grows in pretty thick and quick too.
  9. yup all over the news. hope all you farther south stay safe.
  10. I did end up shooting Sunday. I shot 30 targets in the bow hunter class. First shoot of the year to "kick the rust off". First 10 targets were a little shaky but I still shot a 293. the club hasn't posted all the scores up yet to know how everyone else did.
  11. you need to stop playing so much golf and instead play the lottery! lol any recognition plaque of something back at the club house?
  12. Walnut and aluminum is a good combo that'll reach out there. Congrats Bob! Definitely sounds like all had a great time.
  13. I've yet to see a multi bearded bird where I hunt. Maybe I'll get one so e day.
  14. Way to start us off. Great Job. Congrats on a nice bird!
  15. yup definitely we all have problems with one varmint or another. how you've got that crow thing under control now.
  16. Setup is a Savage model 12 in 223 Rem, Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40mm scope with target turrets and sun shade, Caldwell XLA pivoting bipod (tall enough to use while sitting), and Slogan Outdoors Ultraflex sling. I get sub-MOA with Blackhills loaded Hornady 60gr Vmax ammo and on a good morning or evening with no breeze I can clover leaf shots at 200 yards. Factory ammo and rifle, so I got lucky with the combo.
  17. congrats! good to see you got your trophy and no snake encounters.
  18. cook any of that thing up yet? congrats!
  19. Cool yea I initially thought 7.1 was high but I see a lot of twigs would be in the way if it wasn't. I've got a pretty nice Nikon that I should use more and learn to use better. Always cool to see what pictures were taken with what settings. Thanks for sharing!
  20. That time of the year again where I rid the farm fields of hole digging woodchucks and fill in some left over holes so we don't break any equipment.Had an hour or so of time Saturday evening. Got a couple. Some what of a mile stone as it was chuck number #99 and 100 with the gun in the picture.
  21. nice pictures .... so what were the settings that you took the picture with?
  22. awesome Ruth! great job! the shoot Sunday is a little far away. Next weekend it's much closer so i'll probably be attending that one, which will be my first 3D this year.
  23. Happy Easter to you. not sure how accurate the dates are from year to year but we'll just assume today was day one of three. good enough for me.
  24. I always say it's easy to convince a bird to go where it's already headed. looks like a great plan payed off. that's a heavy bird. Congrats!
