    AC/DC concert

Realtrees own Michael Waddell does a little tribute to AC/DC while walking up to a brute he stuck on the new MB video volume 1.
  2. Must not be many Cub fans around here? Perhaps they have all converted to Red bird followers? Albert now leads the National League with 36 HR! The video of his grand slam last night::gunsmilie: http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=5922319&c_id=stl&topic_id=

    $6000.00 Deer Mount

No, Like the others if it goes on my wall I'd have to harvest it. I'd never sell my deer heads unless the price meant I'd be able to send all my kids to any college they wanted to go to.
  4. Big time Cardinal fan here, but just haven't had the time to follow them this year. Can't afford to take the family to games any more either. Most people I've spoke with have had positive things to say about the move. When you're used to a great team like the Cardinals one sort of expects a playoff run every season (not like with that Chi town team that goes into early hibernation as soon as the weather starts getting cool).:saber::flex::poke:
  5. I use Remington sabot copper solids (walmart~15.00 for a box of 5)! Also have some winchester 20 guage rifled lead slugs for a smooth bore that cost a lot less.
  6. Try to take a total of 4 deer each year for meat. In IL there is no doe limit while 2 bucks can be harvested. I try for at least 2 does in a season. Last season I got my does fairly early and was holding out for 2 mature bucks but only managed one.
  7. Yes, very nice indeed... But can you do that when Mr. nasty horns is looking you in the eye while at full draw?:pop:
  8. http://www.fortcampbellmwr.com/Recreation/HuntingFishing/ Maps, stats, pictures, most everything you need to get a game plan going. Ask around the post and I'll be you find some other soldiers that will be glad to help. Nice place, my old unit used to travel there each year for weapons qualification (awesome range)! Welcome to the RT forums!
  9. When I was figuring out the cost last spring a good deal for a rug was about 100 bucks per foot. So a 6 foot bear would be 600 dollars. A full size mount ran a lot more and was not in my price range. Close to 2 grand.
  10. Well Bob, I think the other contestants have underbid. Looks like he has a few more inches to put on so I'd say he'll go over the 170 mark (Gross) and should be scored in the non-typical category for a net score in the high 150's.

    Signing Off.....

Hope all goes well for you. Remember not to play your rock-n-roll music too loud.
  12. The 2 Franks are in agreement.
  13. Just got finished shooting today and found the bolts that attatch my cable guard were really loose.:jaw: Anyone ever forget to tighten up all your bolts and have something come loose while hunting? Has happened to me in the past and it stinks! Anyway, just a friendly reminder to everyone (especially those of you new to the sport) make sure all of the attachments on your bow are tightened up.
  14. Was about to post the same thing. I have one and use the heck out of it. I used to use the straps that come with the summit stands, but the treestalker is much easier to deal with and more comfortable. Personally I can't see paying over a hundred for any vest when the treestalker is available for 60.
  15. I was watching a Monsterbucks video and was wondering about the scores that show up. My initial post on these forums titled Scoring on MonsterBucks videos: Some years ago Monsterbucks videos (VIII, Vol. 1 and 2) indicated the Gross score for the deer harvested. Recent videos only indicate the score P&Y, or B&C. Does anyone know if the Gross score is being presented or the Net score? I also think it would be AWESOME! for the Monsterbuck videos to include the official score sheets for each deer (as an extra like they do with behind the scenes). Would anyone else like to see the score sheets added to the videos? What I found out is that the score on the videos is the Gross score and that the forums are very addicting.

    My new 09 Ford 4x4

Looks great Kirk! I've got a 01 extended cab F-150 4X4 and it has about 150 K miles on it. Had a few minor issues over the years but overall it has performed better than I ever expected. In 2011 I'll be getting trading it in for a new Supercrew 4X4. My kids are getting bigger and things are getting tight in the extended cab. Looking forward to seeing that big buck in the back this fall!
  17. I agree. You got a picture of a buck there. And what a buck he is!

    Big Buck

Agrred, he'd have to really put on some last minute inches to top 130. I'd say inside spread would be about 18 inches.
  19. Hey William sounds like we got lost in similar ways. My post wasn't meant to poke fun at you getting lost. More that your daughter is telling stories on you. Can't wait to see what stories mine tells on me when she'd old enough.
  20. Same thing happened to me after a my first 2 years of pre-med at SIU Carbondale. My family always told me to be a physician so I just always figured I'd go that route. After 2 years of college I didn't know what I wanted to do but didn't want to be a physician and also wasn't to crazy about another 6 years (min) of school and associated costs that I was paying for. I spoke with an advisor and she recommended that I complete a computer program that is designed to help you figure out what you want to do with your life. As I recall it took about 6 hours to complete and at the time thought it was a waste of time. Anyway, I completed it by answering a ton of questions. At the end it gave me a print-out of ranked careers that matched my profile. Number one was a teacher. I looked at the printed national salary and that amount was too low so I said forget that one. I believe number 2 was a fireman and somewhere around number 10 was a registered nurse. The salary was better than that of a teacher, my pre-med courses would fit the program, and I'd be out of school in just 2 more years. Anyway, I went with it. After graduation I worked as a nurse. I remember my manager doing my evaluation and reading several letters that mentioned my name that patients had sent her about their stay. The thing that kept coming up was how much they appriciated my ability to teach them how to take their medications, or how to change their wound dressing, or whatever. It was then that I remembered that computer program and my number one career. I appplied to graduate school right after that evaluation and have never looked back. I've been teaching nursing for 10 years now and can honestly say I love my job. Wish I could remember the name of that computer program, but I'm sure the advisors at your college would have something like it.
  21. Good Lord that cat is not right! No offense intended, but that cat looks like it belongs in a Stephen King movie.:bat:
  22. "Oklahoma Red" Looks a lot like a Red Stag from New Zealand! I'd say he will go 150 inches.
  23. I just found the pdf for the new IL hunting rule booklet. It was hard to find so I thought I'd post it here. As you scroll through, the changes are highlighted in blue. http://www.dnr.state.il.us/publications/pdf/00000714.pdf
  24. No kidding! William you got yourself lost! I don't remember you telling us that one.:clown: I've never been in a survival situation. However, we are always just one mistake away from one. I'd say my worst experience (several years ago) came after shooting a deer at dusk with my bow. I was hunting a large area I wasn't very familiar with. I was so worried about the blood trail I followed it to the point of not knowing where I was and I'm pretty sure I was in an area I didn't have permission to be on. I decided to give up the trail and follow the blood trail back. Then my light battery started to fail. It didn't take long and I was in heavy timber in complete darkness and didn't know where I was at. People in IL don't take kindly to people trespassing at night. My concern was not to find a house, but to avoid them and the possibility of getting shot. After stumbling around in the dark for a while I finally found a road and the way back to my truck. The following morning I was back out looking and sure enough the blood trail did go into an adjacent property. I went to the house to ask permission but no one was there.
  25. Well Dog, I'm going to have to go at it with you now and start our own episode. I don't remember Tominator killing a deer with a knife? You must be getting him confused with me? :argue: Gary, great art work as usual! Hutchies I have a similar problem at my wally world. A secretary that I knew very well used to work at my place of employment. She did some really bizzare and illegal stuff and got fired. Now she's a checker at Wally World. It's really awkward knowing what she did and making small talk with her at check out. I try to avoid her line, but her line is usually the shortest. Maybe everyone knows.
