Well, the signed and dated letter has just been sent back to the company. They will start the background checks tomorrow and will get back with me sometime late next week. I talked with the HR lady there and came up with my start date, May 18th. The gives me 3 weeks from monday to get everything squared away here and hit the road. My mother is not taking this good at all. I am normally just a couple hours drive from her when she needs to see me and now I will be 2800 miles away and she is not too happy. Anyhow, yall please pray that everything goes through next week and I will be officially employeed again. This weekend I will be mapping out my course across country and will post on RT the plan and see if there are people I can swing by and see for a couple of minutes at the least. Anyhow, thanks for the good words, thoughts and prayers, but please dont stop them yet:)

i used my sisters camera when taking those pics. I will have to get a camera for myself so I can post pics of the new town when I get to Washington and also takes pics a long the way.

also, if you do go about doing this, let me know and I can give you the name and number of a designer that does awesome work that can draw the plans for the addition. He is in NC but if you have the existing plans for the house now, he can add on to those. Just keep that in your mind.

looks like an awsome place. I can not tell you how much an addition would cost you, but when I was designing custom homes and additions, we charged 45 an hour to draw out plans, or we would charge 9-11% of the final cost of the addition via estimating. So when you are budgeting dont forget about the plans, that is a chunk of change some people forget about. Also, look into your local codes to see what kind of additions can be done. It would suck to get it and then be told you cant do the addition you want to because of some sort of code. A lot of times when this happens, here in NC, its better to build and ask forgiveness than ask for permission and get turned down. All in all the place looks awesome and if its something you truely want and feel that you could persue then go for it. If its meant to be it will happen.

I have counted all the votes and have the order for the hot seat nominees. If there was a tie, I listed the names alphabetically to break the tie. Sounds like a plan. I will post a new thread sometime soon about my route and stopping points along the way. Its going to be a long journey but I can not wait to do it.

Thanks for all the wishes, goodlucks, thoughts and prayers. I believe what the guy was telling me was that I will have three weeks from Tomorrow to be out there and start work. Mapquest is saying that it is 2760 miles from here. I believe I am going to try and make the drive in 5 days but log about 4000 miles. I am thinking that I would like to drive like this /\/\/\/ until I reach Washington. I will hopefully be getting a new camera so I will be able to take pics of the journey and have a nice photo story on here were I can post and keep track of everything and where I am in the Country. Once he receives my signed offer letter he said the process will begin of all the background checks and adding me to the system. I do not see anyway at all that this could go bad, but some prayers for the finalization of the procedure would be really nice the next couple of days. Also once I figure out the route I will be taking I will post and see if anybody is on the way, where I could stop and chat for a second, or steal a floor for the night. wow, how ironic. I feel for you in a really close kinda of way except from the otherside of the table, since I am getting ready to go through what she could possibly be going through. (that sentence just sounds weird but hopefully you will see what I am getting at) She and the family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I have found it to be insanely hard to find a job in the Carolinas the last couple of months. What is her career field???

today. The letter was a offer to the job position!!!!!!!!! Within the letter came the salary and benefits as well as signing bonus. I believe this is the break I have been waiting on in this whole "life" thing. With the salary and bonus they have offered me there is NO way I can pass it up. I will be signing the letter tomorrow and faxing it back to them. They will give me three weeks from friday to start work, so it looks like I will be planning a trip to drive across the country and start a new "life" and career. Thank you for the prayers I have recieved and please continue to do so as I make this new chapter in my book of life. I am very nervous right now, but know this will be the best thing for me. Also please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I make this journey across the country. I am sure there will be favors I ask of some as I make the trip and I hope, if anyway possible, I can stop along the way and meet some folks from RT. Thanks again for everything and I pray for myself I am making the right decisions. I will miss the South but will be back ASAP!!!

A good rule of thumb for determining the difference between a recession and a depression is to look at the changes in GNP. Yeah, I will not turn down any job with this economy. In the past 2 months I have had about 50 meetings with companies, They all say they are on hiring freezes but I still set up the meetings to talk and get my name out and get contacts from them. I know I will not turn down any job offer that I receive. I also dont have anything holding me down anywhere. No wife or kids or anything, just friends and family, but thats why they make airplanes I guess, so i can come back and visit. I have never lived outside of the south and i am pretty nervous about it, but it will be a new chapter in my book and I love change so hopefully everything will work out.
