After calling in over 30 birds for family, friends and everyone else and their brothers on the east coast for the past 7 years, I figured it was my time to actually hunt for myself. I set out to hammer a monster Tom but these west coast birds are a lot different than the ones I am used too. They do not like calls, will not respond to them and will ignore them, so it was time for a spot and stalk. I crawled within 30 yards of this bird. Nice fan, 5" beard beat to heck, half or more was gone, what was there was broken to bits and he had no spurs. I finally found some big Toms after I killed this guy, so hopefully next weekend one of them will fall. No more youngins for me.
