Your girlfriend could all so fit into a XXL sweatshirt with no problem. That doesn't mean it is the best size for her to wear. :gun2:

I would contact ER Shaw. They can help you out with the Barrel. They have several different contours available and can be ordered in any length you want. Boyds should be able to provide you with a replacement stock. Otherwise if you look on the auction sites Gunbroker.com or AuctionArms.com you will be able to find used stocks. for the rifle. :gun2:

In my humble opinion the only AR's better than Bushmaster are Armalite and Colt. :gun2:

Why the F*@# do you want to know. Who the H@*#* cares. This is B#@** S#*@. Nobody even gives a S@*#&. So to answer your question no I never swear LOL :clown:

I have. The only hard part is if you buy the barrel and the upper as seperate components. If you buy the barrel already attached to the upper, the rest is like assembling a model airplane kit. It is also much easier if you get the trigger group installed in the lower. It can be kind of tricky getting all the small parts of the tigger to fit if you build that from scratch. :gun2:

Scopes with target turrets will usually come with a chart that helps you determine how many clicks to move how far at a certain distance. However it usually comes down to practice practice practice, till you know what the scope rifle combination will do under different conditions. Since it is a 223 you are using I wouldn't go any bigger than 4 x 12. If you get a scope 16x or higher you will be able to see the cross hairs move everytime your heart beats. :gun2:

The most important consideration is how big is your girl friend. If she is small. less than 5' 4" tall, weighs less than 120 lbs. Then absoultly the ONLY way to go is the Remington Model 7 youth model, chambered in 260 Remington. If she is bigger than that you can pretty much go with any rifle in a low recoiling cailber. Such as 260 25-06, 7MM 08, 270. These would be my first four choices. Even though the 243 has received numerous votes it is actually only maginally effective on deer. Shot placement with a 243 has to be almost perfect or lots of bad things can happen. Asking a beginner to make a perfect shot is putting a lot of pressure on them. Remington Model 7 in 260 is a caliber rifle combination made in heaven for women. If I'm wrong I'll come down and do your house work for a month. :gun2:

I have to work.

I would like to start out by saying that the 7MM Mag is definatly a better choice in all situations. Second, I can't believe how many people on here are talking about taking 500 yards shots at deer. I think you should all be working on your stalking skills and stop worrying about which rifle you can shoot the farthest with. Third I would epoxy the bases but not the rings. You never know when you might want to switch scopes. Applying epoxy to the rings makes them pretty much a permanent atachment. :gun2:

Congrats on the first buck. :gun2:

I do the same thing. When I'm feeling grumpy I go to the rifle range and shoot holes in as many things as I can lay my hands, or should I say my cross hairs, On. I think the act of concentrating on getting off that perfect shot just brings me out of my funk. Plus when stuff explodes that helps too. :gun2:

You know of course we will all be called racisits because we see things for what they are and aren't afraid to say something. :gun2:

Have your friend Check with E.R. Shaw Company. I'm pretty sure they can put a new barrel on his rifle.

One point I would like to add is that all Brownings are overpriced. You are paying extra for the name and prestige of owning one. That being said the BLR is an excellent rifle if you don't mind paying for it. I would go with the 7mm 08. Only because I like it better than the 308. No reason for the choice either one will do what you want it to do. :gun2:

That is a horrible ugly gun, you got took. I feel so sorry for you I'll take it off your hands. I would hate it if you had to be reminded of your mistake everytime you shoot it. :gun2:

It depends on the rifle. On my varmit rifles I don't have hinged floor plates cause I never load more than one at a time anyway. On other hunting rifles I prefer hinged floor plates. It is much quicker and safer to unload than a blind magazine. I hate rifles with detachable magazines. They almost always rattle. I Don't want any extra noise spooking game. Plus most of them add extra width to or stick out the bottom of the stock so they are not as comfortable to carry. :gun2:

When I was a kid we used to always say sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me. When and why did that change. Guess I am officailly an old Fart :gun2:

I am actually one of those low level goverment employees. You should see the situation from our side. I can't tell you the numbers of times I have gotten instuctions on a new policy only to be told a short time later that the instructions where incorrect. I have compared our department to a ship without a rudder. It just goes where ever the current takes it. I don't know what it is about government jobs but it just seems the dumber you are the higher you go. The only reason I stay is the job schedule is so flexable that I can hunt almost anytime I want to. :gun2:

I almost fell out of my chair laughing with this one. This might be the funniest thing I've read in months. :gun2:

What should Santa put in President Obama's Christmas stocking?

I would like to see him get a little common sense. :gun2: -
Just goes to show you, most things depend on your personal point of view. :gun2:

Wow I feel so inadequate now. Looks like "hunt or be hunted" and me are the only two guys in the world that won't shoot farther than 30 yards. 80 yards in the wind. Not sure I could make that shot with a rifle. :gun2:

I think I might be the only one on here that gets the point. I didn't read all the posts but it seems like you have touched a nerve that some people didn't want touched. However, I have never lied on here. When I have done something unethical I have posted it for the world to see. As mentioned before there was only one perfect person on this world. I believe a person should always be responsible for their actions. If it is some thing you are too ashamed to admit to in public then don't do it and certanly don't pretend that you didn't do it. :gun2:

I find it most interesting that everything was fine until money entered the picture. :gun2:
