Welcome Mike, I have an old hoyt you can have. You can even come sit in some of my stands if you can make it up to Wisconsin. I should warn you ahead of time, I don't usually do real well. Not the greatest spots in the world to hunt. I just like getting out.
  2. This is good advice. The pro-staff is Nikons entry level scope. However being a Nikon it is sure to have good glass. I have a couple of them and am happy with them all. The Bushnell Elite is one of their high end scopes so the glass on that should be good as well. Best thing to do is as suggested above, good somewhere and look at them both side by side. :gun2:
  3. I am a FFL dealer and have sold a bunch of Hi Points. They are cheap ugly and heavy, but they shoot. I have never had one returned for repairs. I can't say that about any other brand I've sold. Maybe they are just to cheap to fix I don't know. What I do know is they are better than nothing. If it was all I had, I wouldn't hesitate to carry it. There are better choices out there though. :gun2:
  4. Try Gunbroker.com or AuctionArms.com These are auction sites similar to Ebay buut for guns. You will have no trouble finding someone selling a barrel for your mosseberg. If you can't find one there, I am a FFL dealer. PM me and I'll see what I can get one for you for. :gun2:
  5. My favorite weapon is a Remington model 700 in 270 thats has had tons of custom work done on it. It wears a Nikon Buck master scope. :gun2:
  6. No your weird. For gooness sakes you have Chris Farley for you Avitar. LOL
  7. Posts less than he did :gun2:
  8. I'm glad you like your new sight. When I first saw your thread I thought it meant something else. "MEN" seems like we only have one thing on our minds. :angel2:
  9. Welcome to the forums Avery. Tell your dad that if he lets me hunt with him I'll buy you that 7mm 08. I'll even put a nice scope on it too. :gun2:
  10. Amen Someone has finally said it. I notice so many people on here don't even get the point of what the person is trying to say. They just jump in with their two cents worth. Many times their response has nothing to do with what the post is about. :gun2:
  11. Yea I hate the summer too. The temps have been in the Mid 80's with high humidity. I get uncomfartable anytime it goes over seventy. Don't know how you guys down south live with 100's day after day. I would move if I was you. I'll take the below zero days with 100" of snow we get any day over hot and humid. The only good thing about summer is that once it is over it is time to start hunting.
  12. I just want to know what caliber it is and when is his first hunt. :gun2:
  13. I use Hornady sst 20 ga. I shoot a NEF Ultra Slug Hunter. It is a single shot gun with a fully rifled barrel. I have a Bushnell Throphy Shotgun scope mounted on it and can shoot slightly more than 2" groups at 100 yards with it. I get better accuracey with my slug gun and this load than I do with my Open sighted Marlin 30-30. :gun2:
  14. Sounds comfortable and versitile. But your not going to get a lot of height out of that rig. Better than sitting on a stump though. :gun2:
  15. Basketball sucks so who cares anyways.
  16. I don't like it. Nothing has really changed, except you have to scroll over to see the whole page now everytime you change to a new screen. Whats up with all the dead space on the left side?
  17. I wear bifocals too and I had the same problem seeing the sight of the bow. I had a second pair of glasses made that are just for long vision. The sight is far enough from my eye that I don't need the up close lens. it works great. As far as being busted I assume you mean light reflecting off the lens. I had them apply a coating that they use for people that stare at computers all day long. It reduces the light reflection. Then I am careful to set up so I'm not looking into the sun. Haven't been busted yet as far as I know. :gun2:
  18. I think your either off your meds or you took too much of something.
  19. I got a couple of prostaff and buckmaster scopes. I also have a Nikon camera. I love them all. :gun2:
  20. They are terrible here too. I can't ever remember there being so many.
  21. I bought two of the Gameseeker models last year. The optics seem to be clear. They have a ballistic retical that helps in long distance shooting. I don't think one year is long enought to really judge them. So far everything is fine. The only complaint I have is the barrel for the eye piece is very long. Longer than any other scope I have ever seen. This is only a cosmetic issue but it does make the scope look a little odd. :gun2:
  22. 700 SPS in stainless steel are selling for about $550.00. The extra accesories you have there really don't add any extra value to the rifle. Now consider that you had the trigger worked to 2.5 lbs and many people will avoid it do to the fact they will be unsure of the quality of the work. Finally the .204 ruger is not a very popular caliber. In my opinion you have your work cut out for yourself trying to to sell that rifle. I would start by asking $500.00 for it and take any offer you get higher than $400.00.
