  1. I don't smoke but I think it is crap that the government is telling people what they can and can't do. Smoking is a legal activity last time I checked. Plus the tobacco companies are some of the biggest corporations in the country. Considering the state of the economy do we really think it is a good idea to put a whole bunch more people out of work. I heard a news story that they are considering banning smoking in your own home if you have children under the age of 16 in the house. They have been after our guns for years and we have been pretty successfull at keeping the government out of our buisness. However, everytime we allow the government to regulate one group it makes it that much easier to regulate the next one. So whats next. Will they outlaw cheese burgers, cause there is too much fat and it is unhealty and plugs our arteries. Come on people, we need to get the government out of our buisness. I'm fine with no smoking sections in resturants and bars. Let the smokers have their rights. If you like to smoke I'm pretty sure there is a document that says this country was founder with the intention to allow all free men to persue happiness. Please no extreme resposes saying "does that mean we have to allow pedafiles to persue their happiness" and similar statements. Lets have common sense rule the day for once.
  2. That might well be the hardest question I've ever had to answer. I guess I would have to go for the Elk since I have only been able to hunt Elk once so far. The problem is I have no idea where I would mount a head that big. Then there is the problem of having to buy a new freezer for all the meat. Good luck on your hunt.I hope you score big. :gun2:
  3. I don't think it was stupid. The only reason I watch hunting shows anymore is to work on my trigger control. I start getting the itch to deer hunt about a week after the season ends. I guess thats what they call Obssesive compulsive. :gun2:
  4. Ok maybe this is too obvious and you might consider it part of the rifle. I think the most important piece of equipment is the scope sitting on top of the rifle. It might be more important than the rifle it's self. :gun2:
  5. I'm with you Camo but we both know they will never schedule it in Green Bay. The superbowl is more about keeping the fans entertained than it is about the game. I am surprised they scheduled it anywhere cold again. I guess even in Febuary though there is still a lot to do in New York.
  6. Yea he was robbed but he is handling it like a man. He hasn't been complaining about the bad call. This guy has class and we need more professional athletis like him.
  7. Way to go I'm closing in on Eight pointer myself.
  8. nice knife. I still think my name was better. LOL. Congrats on a beutifull prize.

    MPG's

I drive a Brilliant Blue (I thought the color fit me perfectly) 2010 Dodge Dakota. 4X4 extended cab. With a matching fiberglass Cap. (I sleep in the back of it a lot. I have a bed set up in there that is more comfortable than my bed at home.) It has a 3.7 V6. I get about 22 miles to the gallon. Plus the satillete radio is always set to the Blue Colar Comedy Channel.

My son goes to that race every year.
  11. Where do you get 500 lbs of Crawfish.
  12. There is so much public land in those states you can't swing a dead cat with out hitting some. I would contact the fish and game department in those states. They all have lots of info on public lands. You might check the websites of the states Fish and Game departments also. They have tons of info on them. :gun2:
  13. I don't have a problem with drives. However, as others have stated they are just to dangerous.
  14. It is hard to say for sure but it sounds like the deer are feeling to much pressure on your land. The way you approach your stand is more important than the number of times you go there. If you have given the deer a major fright they have likely moved on to an area that they feel safer in. I would consider if you activity in the woods has made them seak shelter somewhere else. Another possibility is that you and your neighbors have killed all the deer in the area. But Thats not likely.
  15. Great print. I bet the arrow adds a lot of good memories to the whole thing.
  16. Thanks everyone, there are some helpfull suggestions here.
  17. I was going to write, "Don't give up on old bullet yet." Some times pets just need some time to kick up there heels. I had a dog that was gone for two weeks one time. I thought for sure I had lost him. Then one morning there he was, sitting next to my truck when I came outside. He looked like he had been through ****. Dirty, muddy his coat covered with burrs and hungry enough to eat anything. I was never so happy to see anyone. I cried some major tears of joy that day. I know it sounds cold but I love my dogs more than I love most people. Congrats on getting your friend back.

    my delima

Those of you that are making the extra effort to try to preserve the wildlife should be commended. Those of you that aren't are part of the problem.
  19. I'm to old and fat to use hang ons anymore. All my stands are ladders.
  20. I just bought one at the end of the season last year. I haven't had a chance to use it yet. It will be interesting to see what others respond.
  21. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. As they say though we learn more from our mistakes than we do from success. First off never shoot unless their neck is extended. I had a similar problem with a scope I had on my shotgun. Shotguns really punish any optic. So now only the highest quality optics go on my shotgun. The scope I have on there now cost more than the shotgun did. Better luck next year.
  22. Muzzy 125. The chisel point and the sharp blades I think would shoot through three deer if you lined them up right. :tt1:
