  1. Not much difference at that weight. Step up a hundred pounds and that hogs hide and head will weigh about 25% or more of live weight. Shoulder and rib areas are heavily armored.
  2. The latter. Bad wind boys my confidence away with it lol
  3. I would check Walmart for both. They had a good online price on the two man ladder the other day. Good luck with it!
  4. man he's a brute! Congratulations!
  5. Sounds like my luck! Hope you fare better this time man.
  6. It's usually pretty close, but we hit the mid 70's Saturday and I wanted to watch the game like an idiot lol. I always say take every advantage to hunt you can even in crappy weather, but it's hard to be motivated in high temps.
  7. We can shoot a half hour after sunset which is 4:50 now, so I can shoot to 5:20
  8. Who knows, but if it's true, it will be a little pricey lol.
  9. Hope all is well Scott, long time no post! Have a good one buddy.

Welcome aboard! Got several Texas members on here, stick around!
  11. Happy birthday Shaun! Hope it's a great one and thank you for all the great advice you give us!
  12. Would have liked to have been there for supper, then excuse myself before breakfast! Deer liver is good if you know how to prepare it and you like beef liver of course. I like it once in a while, not something I save myself.
  13. Get a chafing dish. You can prob even rent one from a wedding place if you want a large one and don't want to spend the money. They'll run on candles
  14. Congratulations! I cannot imagine that. Deer are everywhere down here, though out may not be what you wasn't to shoot. Kudos for sticking it out!
  15. Does that say 3 32" rails included? Not going to get very high with that? Also, I did get a cheap Ameristep lockon a couple years ago (the $50 one). I will say that is the most awful, uncomfortable stand I have ever owned. I almost am afraid to draw in the seated position, it's so flimsy I feel like I'm about to fall constantly. Hope this one is a lot better or it's not worth having.
  16. Going to check this out right now.
  17. I had signed up in the first thead, I suppose I assumed I would be included in Kat's list. No biggie either way with me.
  18. We generally shoot for to $20 or so value. Unique gifts are the best, homemade goodies, and things you only find in your area.
  19. Nice. Lots of cats down here, see them on the stand about every year last few years.
  20. Thanks everybody, I'm concerned with safety of course, but beyond that I'm hoping her little 35-40lb setup will get the job done. She's shooting pretty good, told her to be sure to stay behind the shoulder. Hope she has success but if she don't that's fine too. Her first hunt she didn't see a thing and I told her "good". Lol Might as well learn some patience while she's out there
  21. Here's another look Tracey. Actually killed across the river in AR I understand. Just some eye candy, I'll never lay eyes on anything close to that.
  22. Wow. That's a great story and a monster of a buck. Sounds like you earned him in the end. Thanks for sharing and I wish the best for your dad too.
  23. One of my 13 y/o girls is ready to smack one with a bow now. The 3 of us have always hunted together in a box, but she's dying to stick something so she'll be in a ladder this weekend with her Parker buckshot and 85gr wasp heads. Would love to see her have some success before Jan 31st.
