  1. Extremely painful to watch. You're absolutely right Joe, life is very short, sometimestoo short. Very sorry to hear of your tragedy bug, very sorry indeed, I can't imagine.
  2. Nothing wrong with any of the above mentioned, I would personally go with a bolt gun, but if he is dead set on a lever, then I would go with Lynn's suggestion of the 308 Marlin Express. Hard to argue with 308 proven performance in a rimmed cartridge. I just never got onto the 35 bandwagon.
  3. I just hope he don't kill over. He's eating corn soaked in off road diesel. Will get him regular again, that's for sure. :eat:
  4. Have not tried video mode yet Matt, in fact I really haven't figured out how to set it (without finding and reading the instructions). I'm with you on the stealth, exactly what I was wanting. I was sick and tired of having deer spook at my IR cams. I can put up with a dab of blur on nighttime stills, for a $170 cam this thing is great. Does yours feel like the plastic buckle that keeps the door closed is going to break? Mine works fine, but I swear you have to mash like heck to get it to snap shut, keep thinking one day it's just going to break off.
  5. Matt I got pics of the boar every night, gonna say he's about 160 or so which is past my limit for eating. Clean that thing and you'll be smelling that stink for a while and stink up the house even if you make sausage with it. Still a fun bow hunt if he will come out earlier. The blackout is a good cam for the money. Good battery life, excellent daylight pics, excellent stealth (rare to have anything even glance at it at night). Only drawback is nighttime motion is blurred. Animal has to be pretty still to get a clean shot. Still I'm happy considering the price. I was sick of deer looking at my IR flash. Hopefully I'll keep feeding another week or so and get some sows and little ones coming in during daylight. Otherwise I'll have to drag that big heavy trap down there which will be a PITA.
  6. Don't know if most of mine can be posted here lol
  7. Looks great bud. Had fried backstraps, rice, gravy, peas, okra and biscuits last night. Wasn't bad, I managed to stomach it.
  8. He just needs to come out a little earlier so I can re-open bow season. Nice looking young deer. Maybe he'll stick around, figured the diesel fuel would help keep them away, he must be hungry.
  9. Didn't get in from double header till after midnight, gonna spare them this morning lol Good luck Rhine
  10. Great truths spoken there, but those words are not from Bill Cosby, they are from a MA state senator and have been going around on the net as being from Bill ever since for some reason.
  11. Ken when I grow up I wanna be just like you. Looks absolutely delicious!
  12. Good stuff. I like it with spinach too! Very low fat and pretty tasty.
  13. Self explanatory. Cept for the fact that I think there was already a forum redneck that hadnt posted in forever, so I added an extra "k".
  14. Haha! Slow cooked a roast for several hours then added carrots, onions, potatoes, green beans, and corn bread of course. I'm lazy, I love a good one-dish meal- easy to make, easy to clean up. :eat:
  15. Sounds like a good time. Bet you could have mopped up with a good beagle or two. I love a good rabbit hunt with some good dogs.
  16. Which is good. But it still looks like there's a lot of folks joining and posting questions in the blogs section rather than the forums. Not sure if they could be nudged this way from the main page. Hate to see folks post a question and not get a response, always aggravated me when posting a question in another forum.
  17. Have a good one man! :happybday:
  18. Well, the iOS is probably better. The G2 though does have a super nice 4.5 inch screen, and a 4G speed. Also ready for ice cream sandwich, lol. What stupid names they have for the droid os. Don't know, leaning more to keep with droid platform.
  19. So for planning purposes, we have to be there the 19th or sooner to purchase a tag?
  20. Good to practice drawing from many positions, but never your butt! No way can anyone have good form sitting on your rear end. Sitting is one thing in a stand/chair, but flat ground, no. Just my 2 cents.
  21. Still early in the planning stages, but there's a possibility we could carpool. I'm just south of 20 in east MS. Not sure who will come with me as of yet. One thing about it, 40 hrs in a truck with a guy and you'll either love him or hate him lol.
  22. Most are still in the pen, but a couple are up for parole.
  23. Spring started here back in november.
