  1. Good idea about shooting another arrow in the ground. I keep a field tip on my quiver anyway. Leaves no doubt where the deer was standing.
  2. Wow. Looks like it could be the deer. Anything can happen. I think I would take her out with my .308 so her genetics aren't passed on. If you don't, you may never find a deer bow shot in that area!:clown:

    Rage 2-blades

I have shot a deer to far front and in the shoulder. Found the deer no prob just wast not a pass through. At the time I was using Thunderheads; very good head. This year I'm trying the rage. I believe that most all the broadheads out there are fine. I've also asked myself; if my shot has been off in the past (not perfect), has the shot been in the shoulder or in softer tissue. With me there is no question, when I have been off my arrow tends to go into a softer tissue as opposed to the shoulder. That said. I'm gonna give the rage 2 blade a try and see what happens.
  4. Great Buck. I hope to do that well this year! Congrats!
  5. Just got the new Bone Collector flextone. I think it will do nicely.
  6. White Oaks have always been my favorites and the most productive. Most of my life I hunted in middle GA and acorns were the number 1 food source in the fall. If storms came through and they fell a little early I would hunt them even when they were green. When the deer realize they are falling they will be vistiting every day. Although, we did not have any crops fro them to eat. That may change everything. If the white oaks just fall early without storms the trees may not be that healthy and the acorn crop may be poor.
  7. Try not to get busted; but the truth is, its gonna happen. Hopefully its mostly when going to and from the stand as opposed to on stand.
  8. I have a bone collector flextone and am please with it! Don't know if the other one has the versatility of the BC. It will do all grunts plus a snort wheez.

They don't get that big in FL. Great Job!
  10. No greed here. You made an instinctual decision to go for the grand prize. There is a difference between greed and raising the bar. Good luck!
  11. Clapp33 I don't have to much experience hunting the corn fields. I will heading to your neck of the woods on the 14th of November. When I get there the corn will be gone. Hopefully the necks will be swollen and there will be some Buck activity. I'm trying to get my first P&Y.
  12. Awesome. That is a fine Bow and makes me want to upgrade. This forum is gonna cost me a lot of money! Any problem at all with tuning the bow with that much speed? I can't imagine that kind of speed.
  13. Mine does not hunt. She does love to go in the boat though.
  14. Great job! Also a teachable moment for the kids.
  15. Good research! If you do leave him a note, kill him with kindness. You might be amazed. Many people do things thinking they won't be confronted(in a nice way). He may move the stand if you can talk with him. I'd like to think that people are easy to reason with.
  16. In the short time I've participated on this site I've found everyone to be very helpful with the heart of a teacher. Ask questions and be as specific as you can. Your confidence will build and results will come. Good Luck
  17. Sorry, only know about wraps here. Did not know they still dipped them either!
  18. Keep us posted on how you deck it out! Awesome! Also great input on squaring up your insert. I don't know exactly how that tool works but one day I will get one!
  19. Wow! I feel blessed to have read that. I am a better person because that was shared with me. I will carve out time specifically for my daughter and I to read it together. Thank you and God Bless.
  20. Great feedback! I will remember that!
