I hunted in SE Ohio and I was amazed at how deer became used human traffic on small farms with 4 wheelers, tractors etc. They seemed to be aware; but did not spook until people got off the vehicles. I saw a large doe through a patch of woods. She thought I could not see her and remained still even when I came within 20 yards(I was on a 4 wheeler). She was absolutely fine until I got off the 4 wheeler; then she bolted. She never would have spooked if I would have kept going. A 130 class buck did a similar thing. I rode by him in a thicket 3 times and did not know he was there. Not until I stopped did he get up and bolt. He was fine as long as he kept moving. I learned a lot in my first year hunting on small farms.

I shoot a one pin that I easily move depending on the distance. It also shoots as a pendulum. Does anybody know where I can get a preprinted yardage indicators with an adhesive back? Thanks.

I don't have one on my Switchback. Will one fit it? For those of you that have string stoppers; do they make a difference? Thanks

Is it worth tying on a cat whiskers with serving or would you just tie them in an overhand knot on the string? I used to put them on with serving back in the day, but the pro shop is just telling me to tie them on. Anybody have a preference? Thanks

I own Scentlock. Works great. Its a big part of my strategy when I hit the woods!

I bought a blind 4 years ago and wasn't particularly happy with the quality. I will leave the brand out so not to color your opinion and also realizing I may have just gotten a dud. What blinds do you guys like when the terrain pushes you to use one? Why do you like it so much? I'm planning on getting a new one this fall. Thanks

Thanks guys. I generally like to shoot longer distances first and then the shorter distances seem that much easier.

How do you guys go about practicing (not how many times a week.etc), ex. farther shots first and work your way in. From elevations? Do you have a certain system that you like to use and why? I know my first shots are usually my best. I'm guessing that most other people will be similar. Thanks in advance for your input!

I use a single pin and have for many years. I like the unobstructed sight picture much better. I have a movable sight so I have markings for up to 60; If its over 30 I want to range it anyway. It's worked great for me. I like to keep my pin on 20 and practice at varying distances.

Been looking at the Epek broadheads on line. Doesn't seem to be carried by a lot of the majors; Cabelas,BPS, etc. Where can you get them? Any problems? Usually broadheads are easy to find.

I agree. Set the pins in 10 yard increments. Start at 20. 5 yard increments should be too close and take away to much of the sight picture. Make sure you hold your bow level or your windage will creep the further out you go. Good Luck

Thanks for all the input so quickly. I'm definitely leaning toward the cat whiskers. Sting leeches don't seem to last and it doesn't sound like the bowjax does either. All ideas are welcome! Thanks.

I'm gonna go with string silencers this year. I haven't used them in the last couple years. I used to use your regular cat whiskers and leeches as well. The leeches tended to only last about a 100 shots in the past. I saw the Bow Jax in one of my sales catologs. I like the idea of not splitting the string. Anybody have any experience with the Bow Jax. What kind of silencers would you suggest. Looking to see if there is any new ones out there. Thanks

Swithcback is my second Matthewezens?s. It's great. No problems at all. What seems to be the specific problems with the Reezens?

I've got a buddy that swears by them. He took 3 deer with them last year. I have no personal experience. Let us know what you think;flight and durability.

For what its worth I'm a big guy to. I have had many climbers. The Titan is the best I have used. Very Comfortable. Allows you to be still long periods of time. Don't go to sleep!

Personally I shoot a Mathews Switchback and love it; it is my second Matthews Bow. My good friend bought a Bowtech second hand; the bow had just been purchased and the guy had to sell it quick. My friends Bowtech if a fine Bow. I was with him when he bought it and I helped him set it up the way he wanted. He is very happy with it and took several deer and hogs last year. Honestly, I think there are so many good Bows out there now. My preferences would be Matthews, Hoyt and Bowtech. I'm sure some others guys will swear by there brands too. Great choice in stands. I have one and love it. One thing I may add is to practice shooting out of your climber. When you shoot downward your Bow limbs can hit the stands rail. This cost my friend a 140 Buck in Ohio a couple years ago. Good Luck!
