  1. I'm well into the "More than 12 inches" zone. 18 days until I leave for Florida for 3 weeks.
  2. Ranger - My favorite Foghorn Leghorn joke: (In his voice of course) "She's a nice girl, but reminds me of the highway between Dallas and Ft. Worth ........ NO CURVES!!!"
  3. ...Despite a cold and snowy forecast for the next week. Leaving for Florida the last week of March and working OT in the meantime. Doesn't take much this time of year to turn it really sloppy on the surface. Yesterday the air temp was 28°F as a high, and the sun felt so warm! ..... So we took advantage of the great conditions and pulled it off. Here's a few more pics of our season. IIRC, this was New Years Day I used a gas auger this year, it was absolutely nessecary, as the ice thickness reached 30" by Feb. Also the smaller 6" holes cut with the hand auger froze back up very quickly. Fishing has been slow past 10 days or so, caught these 2 Pike last week. One was 30" and the other was 31.5" Both just over 6lbs.
  4. The city of Burlington passed several city "gun control" charters, I believe they consisted of locking weapons at home and some other essentially unenforceable law, State legislation is "extremely unlikely" (according to the news) to approve these charters. In extreme contrast to our NY neighbors, VT has been a Constitutional Carry State for a long time.
  5. OH YEA!!! With the massive amount of OT I've been putting in for the last several months, I was able to negotiate the entire month of April off. And with the killer Winter we're having, we are packing up the van and heading to Florida for 3 weeks. Rented a vacation pool house in Orlando for a week, gonna see the sights, visit a park or 2, then we'll spend 2 weeks at my Mom's on the east coast. My stepfather is an avid saltwater sportsfisherman, and has a couple boats. We'll be fishing and crabbing quite a bit! We just told the older 2 kids, and they are beyond excited. Staying with family outside Philly on the way up and down, planning on taking the kids to see the Liberty Bell during our stay.
  6. That Northern was 37" and 12lbs 7oz. Martin ..... you can see I wear my RT pants for good luck!!
  7. Heck yea we Ice Fish!!! Quite a bit! Put my shanty on the river about a month ago, very well may be cutting holes pretty late this year.
  8. Nice work martin! Looks like you had a great trip!
  9. Yup, full steam ahead here as well. Another 12"-14" today and tonight on top of the 1'-2' snowpack down already. Been a few below zero every morning for the past several days. Fri supposed to be -2 for a high and -25 forecast for Fri night!
  10. This thread caught my eye and I was going to post Hi-Point as well. I bough a JCP in the .40S&W (They make a .45ACP as well) and found it to perform flawlessly. Granted I'm no gunsmith or marksman, but I did put about 2500 reloads through it without 1 misfeed or jam or anything. It's large and heavy, but accurate.
  11. .....still not functional. This is the first time I've been on in a week, and I'm still having problems on the desktop site as well. S. M. H.
  12. doog3 sent me these awesome gadgets! I really needed the blade sharpener! Thanks doog! And thanks Turkey Girl for organizing!
  13. Hey VermontHunter .... you didn't have spend the Holiday in the dark did you?
  14. Giving me troubles as well ... "DO you want to leave page?" ... cannot send PM's .... mobile app still not working!
  15. Crippleshot, your initial post drips of self-righteousness and narcissism ... even if you did not intend it to. I'm not offended, but you seem troubled. I'd also like to say that I, under no circumstances, "made fun of your faith". I simply explained that not every member on this forum subscribes to your set of personal beliefs, if you truly believe that is "making fun" then perhaps it's your own worldview, not others', that is leading you down this path of conflict and accusatory tone. You posted that my post got "more support" than yours ..... what kind of support do you need right now? wtnhunt hit the nail on the head when he said "Everyone is different", you've got to go with what works for you. Not everyone is going to feel the same as you. . BTW - this Atheist will be working in the ICU on Christmas so one of my Christian friends/co-worker may be home with her family, and yes, I'll almost certainly be performing CPR at some point during the day!
  16. Every time I see it on the desktop screen, it makes me laugh also!
  17. I appreciate the kind sentiment. Thank you for thinking of me!
  18. Riiiiiight! Thats what I keep hearing, and then 1 by 1 the horror stories pop up and then all these different scenarios swirl through my head and then I remember I've spent my entire life protecting, at all costs, the very same area which they expect me to splay open so they can chop away........... AWW TO HECK WITH THIS!!! I'll be in the garage.
  19. Unfortunately doog3 was just a tad underpowered for Santa's sleigh and he opted for a DOHC, fuel injected, 32V, 5.4L turbo powered Roboreindeer with laser guided navigation and not only SAT-COM, but it's very own Satellite.
  20. You have no idea how relevant this is to my life right now! Despite much "persuasion" I cannot come to terms with it and so far have not gone through with it.
  21. Not every member here is a Christian either.
  22. I've been watching that LES crank away LETMGROW! Been colder here last couple days, got a few inches of snow on the ground. Supposed to be below 0 next few nights and forecast a foot + on Sat and Sun. Can't wait to get the shanty out!!
  23. I don't even want to know.
