  1. Ummm, had it been me, would have been inclined to drop it a bit lower, like from the ground. lol. See that upper trunk falling to the right. Wires above your head? Glad it all worked out ok Frank, seen trees do funny stuff even with professionals. Little guatemalan feller cutting trees next to us last year ran on more than one occasion.
  2. Not much going on here, gonna be a soggy weekend. Wife and our youngest daughter will be off to the riding academy/horse barn to volunteer half the day tomorrow then wife is working Sunday. Will be home with my 6 year old, may spend some time in the pool.
  3. Pretty crazy factors to figure to try to compensate for with 2 miles. Be interested in hearing more details on whether it was flat wide open terrain and bullet weight etc, etc.....
  4. Welcome back Sean. Unfortunately the pics that were on the old photopost were not able to be moved to the new forums when they changed them over and so they were basically all lost unless users saved them.
  5. Welcome to the forums. Don't own either of those but I have an accura and been happy with it. If it were my choice, of those 2 would go with the optima. With regards to loads, really the best advice I can give is to use loose powder and work up a load that gives you your best accuracy. No need in loading three 50 grain pellets in a gun if accuracy suffers as a result. Sweet spot for accuracy in my accura with the bullets I am using is around 115 grains of triple 7. Ballistics on bdc type reticle scopes can be matched up to different loads, you need to shoot your gun with your bullet and powder charge to see where it hits at corresponding ranges with your scope.
  6. Happy Fathers day to all the dad's. No idea yet what I am doing this weekend, nothing planned. Our 6 year old son had a bout with e coli he is finally getting over, he swallowed water in the wave pools at Ky Kingdom last Monday and started coming down with symptoms on Thursday, guessing it was the kids wave pool. Was supposed to rain starting Wednesday and through the weekend. Got my beans planted earlier this week ahead of the forecasted ran. We have had no real rain yet, not been enough to even settle the dust. May try and sit out tomorrow morning a little and bust some crows in our back field where I planted nearly an acre.

    Would you?

    No bedazzled here, no sir.
  8. Martin, try to contact Scott. Give him your email address, phone number, street address, as well as what you ordered.
  9. Watched most of the last game and not even a hockey fan, but was not much else on. Thought the keepers played great on both sides.
  10. Little over 3 months to go now until the 4th Saturday of September archery opener. Our new reg handbook comes out in July, gonna have to see if there are any changes for this year. Have not checked the twra site yet to see what was proposed, a bit behind.
  11. I cleared the code last weekend and then drove it to town to get gas and it popped back up less than a mile from home, so cleared it again when I got back home. I wanted to get it in to a dealer before we took this last trip, but couldn't(they would not commit to an appointment) so I took my scanner with me on this trip to erase the code if it popped up again in hopes that the mds would work right and it would go to fuel saver mode on the highway like it is supposed to. We drove to Kentucky over 300 miles one way in the thing Monday and the fuel saver mode worked flawlessly there and back, never missed a lick and even had fuel efficiency average go up from around 15.3 to 18.6 mpg, not too bad for an all wheel drive 4 door suv cruising around 73 most of the way loaded up with all of us and our stuff. Really think had we not hit heavy rain most the way there the mpg's would have climbed even more. I had considered using a "high mileage" synthetic oil, don't know if it might make any difference in a possible sticky lifter if that was the culprit. I will get it in sometime soon, may try another dealer though, will be sure to report back what they find.
  12. Man that thing sure went through some slop.
  13. Next game is in Nashville? If so, maybe the preds will squeak it out to force a game 7. Watched a few minutes the other night and it was Pittsburgh by 2 and looked like they were in control.
  14. Again, good luck with the tournament and have safe travels Tim. We took off early this past Monday morning and took the kids to Kentucky kingdom for 2 days, got back late Tuesday night, got caught up on lawn stuff and some garden stuff yesterday. Have a bbq for my wife's work to go to tomorrow, big family day deal with laser tag and some other games. I still have not gotten my beans planted and not sure I even will at this point. Had a bit of an issue last weekend, got in a bit of a rush after my wife and youngest daughter got back late from their volunteer work at the riding academy. I hit a spot with the tiller that had some thorny vines that I was trying to turn under and I did not realize had bailing twine in it, spent the next 2+ hours untangling a mess.
  15. Only this one time Ruth The issue is a non issue if you stay aware of it. I did not know before hand, was kind of my fault, however I never saw a thing about this in the owners manual prior to my issue. The spring and firing pin need removed and that area well cleaned after doing much shooting, I was of the impression that it was a sealed area and that blowback would not form any crud there, but it does just enough to potentially cause an issue if you do not clean it from time to time. I had done some shooting leading up to the 14 season and there was some blowback that caused the firing pin to be a little sticky which in the cold weather was worse. I do not know about the TC design, but would assume that it would also need cleaned.
  16. Kind of preference thing really Ruth, don't think you would go wrong with a tc or a cva. I really like my accura. Think the bergara stainless barrels are about as good as you will find in production muzzleloaders. Far as optics go, I probably would not opt for a package deal unless it comes with a decent scope. These guns are very capable of being 200 yard or longer range guns with the right scopes and loads. I went on the lower end with a nikon prostaff 3-9x40 on my accura with the bdc reticle. One thing I would look at closely is the action and how easy it is to get to areas to clean.
  17. Actually watched a minute or two last night, pens were up by one and figured it would a 3-0 series so changed it. Maybe Nashville might just keep it a little interesting.
  18. Get back in touch with Scott. Be sure to save your order information.
  19. Our 08 durango came with a lifetime powertrain warranty. That was part of why we settled on the dodge over chevy. Now I am getting a more and more often code p3441, deactivation issue on cylinder 6. I called the dealer and talked with the service dept and the guy could not tell me if it would be covered just to get it checked out, told me I would have to pay the deductible just for them to diagnose it. I said what deductible, there is no deductible, to which he said he did not know what it would be until he ran the vin. From what I can get the issue is probably with an mds solenoid. I changed the oil after reading that oil can cause this code and that has made no difference. Plugs were changed less than ten thousand miles ago. It runs fine, just sometimes will not go to fuel saver where it drops to the 4 cylinder mode, other times it will. I can clear the code and it might go a week or more without popping back up, but then it might pop back up and I clear it and it pop back up the next day. Pretty erratic and no apparent pattern. Anyone have any experience dealing with these mds systems and deactivation issues? Fed up with that dealer, gonna check with another dodge dealer to see if I can find one that knows what customer service is.
  20. Doughnut day huh. Had a couple entenmanns "softees" chocolate donuts with my coffee early this morning. Good luck with the tournament and have safe travels. Broke down and bought a new 6 ft king kutter professional tiller from rural king back in mid April and finally came in got to pick it up middle of last week. Been working ground for some food plots here, hope to til them again and maybe get them planted here this weekend. Putting in some gly resistant soybeans and they are gonna be late, but hopefully will do ok. One of the plots the goal is to buildup the soil back and cut down weeds for a future clover plot anyway. Bought a wired security camera system over a year ago after crap with my sister in law and some of her poor choice in "friends" had been here. I have a couple cameras I have not attached to it YET, one I mounted on our driveway that I need to pull wire to the garage where it is pre-wired to with another camera I already have hooked up. Got my yardwork done yesterday afternoon. Might try to shoot some of this Israeli 9 mm stuff if we get time and it is not too warm, have several boxes and not tried it out yet. Have a lot of cans that need the aerosol removed. lol. If we have enough time need to also do some fine tuning on a few rifles. If it is too hot, will probably load up some 308 and 270 eld-x hunting rounds for next season and spend more time in the pool with the kids.
  21. Man that sure is nice Don. Cannot say as though I have seen wood quite that pretty on any rifle, let alone a muzzleloader.
  22. Not a hockey fan, but hey Nashville is just a couple hours up the road. Not likely I am gonna watch any of the games, but hope they are at least a little competition and don't embarrass TN too bad. lol
  23. Nice looking rifle Jeff. Should be able to reach on out there with it.
  24. Time flying by for sure. Our kids ended their school year on Wednesday. Just me and my 6 year old here today and most of the day tomorrow, pool water is too cold for him especially with the wind, was hoping the water would warm up more. My wife and the girls took off this morning early headed to Greenville Texas to see my wife's cousin graduate high school, they got there a little after two this afternoon. They are coming back tomorrow, hopefully they can get ahead of and stay ahead of the weather driving back. Smoking a pork shoulder tomorrow. Maybe the pool water will be warm enough to get in Monday. Had a real busy day yesterday trying to get some things done before it rains again and before the girls took off, supposed to be potential to get nasty here Saturday late and into Sunday. Have 16 cows that are overdue to be wormed that I will probably have to put off until Monday when there is no chance for rain, seem to never catch a break when I have them caught or the weather just does not want to cooperate. Crazy winds here today, but the sun is out. Have 8 or 9 trees in the yard I need to stake down, may try to get my son to help me with that tomorrow morning if the weather holds out.
