Re: thoughts on crossbow I'm a hunter.... it does not matter to me what I use as long as I get the chance to hunt .I feel the same about what others use. But if I choose to not hunt with something I will not deprive others the chance. In fact I will help them if I can. Crossbows and Compound Bows are both cool in my book.

Re: Yesterday A Father was lost Sorry to hear about your loss and I can really understand what you are feeling. Today we buried my aunt and it was tough. All the memories came rusing up and caused me to be a bit emotional. Prayers to your family.

Re: Why do they always run together Wife reminded me that her great Ann and her one cousin's husband have also died here since Christmas. I knew em both and sad they are gone. Aunt's funeral is Monday with a showing tomorrow.

You ought to have seen my face when I walked out of Wally World with 1/2 dozen of wood duck dekes($13 normally 34) a 1/2 dozen Flambeau Gadwall dekes (the same deal) and then the Ameristep Hayhouse blind ((at Cabela's for over 100) and 3 Fieldhouse blinds ($90 normally) for $17 each.

Re: Ohmipain Roundup Here is how it looks at the island today. I went by the campgrounds and one of them looks like there will be no camping this spring. The whole property is up for sale by blocks. The Buttonwood campsites are $10 a night and I think it is 1st come 1st get.

Deaths of friends and family and serious illnesses seem to be all around us lately. My wife's cousin died and today was his funeral. Then if you remember my friend just passed away last month. Now my Mom called me this morning with good news and bad news. She is doing fine and is at home finally but then came a heartbreaker. My Aunt Delores died yesterday morning. Doesnt always seem that these things run together?

Re: 20 gauge choke tube quest. We use Hastings chokes for our same shotguns and get a excellant pattern. I will have to find them to see what the size of constriction is.

My mom has been in the hospital since Thursday for heart problems. She is going to have a heart cath tomorrow to see what is going on. So please say a prayer for her.

Re: What gage I use a 12 gauge but my son's 20 gauge has the better pattern up to a certain yardage. Both have killed turkeys.

Re: What shot?? I use #5 in 3 inchers with #6 in 3 1/2 inchers as back up. The 3 inchers are Remingtin and The 3 1/2 are Winchester. However I left the 3 inchers at home and used the Winchesters to kill my turkey this past spring at 20 yards. It dropped on the spot.
