  1. No one? I'll leave this here a little longer...then its off to Gun broker!
  2. Boy is this horse dead...lol Ok, here is a question...if we stop the doe reduction and let the numbers increase...how does one expect a mature buck to breed all the doe? If the doe numbers are lower in certain areas...wouldn't a mature buck have a better chance of breeding and passing his genes? I guess my point would be...if a mature buck is the only mature buck within' 200 acres and he is with a hot doe...he ain't leaving her. Now if there are at least 20-30 does in that same 200 acre plot...I'm sure there will be at least a few more does in heat at the same time...whats going to breed them? I don't have the answers either...but I know of a buck taken off the Strut10 farm this past season that just about any of us would take!
  3. This is a new (never mounted) rifle stock (walnut) for a T/C Contender. It will not fit a G2!!! I ordered it for a guy for a G2 and ordered the wrong one. I since got him the one for the G2 but now need to dump this one. My mistake is someone elses gain. I'm looking to sell this for what I have in it and cut my losses...$95 plus shipping. All you'd need is the forend and you can turn your Contender into a rifle.
  4. Ahhhhhhh good times! Didn't watch the video (stinkin' dial up)...but I'll try again later.
  5. Thats because some maroon shot the chain off the plate at 300 yards...lol
  6. LOL Bob...I have a few folks already asking about it...but I'll let you know if I decide to upgrade to a vari. scope. I got the gun/scope for $675...btw, its not me who is tight with the money...that would be my wife. I never thought I'd get it under $800 seeing how a few guns sold for around that and more...and they were Savage 99's. They were in nice shape, but none had good scopes and those 99's weren't worth what folks were paying for them. Prob. wait to get some ammo and fire it after deer season/winter.
  7. I'm ready...gonna take a shower in the morning...get dressed and walk out the door! Got to make about a 200 yard walk behind the house...lol. Nice having some land...don't have to get up as early and drive somewhere.
  8. $550....lol You do realize this gun costs well over $1,000 new?
  9. I have a hand muff as well...usally just a thin pair of gloves with the muff on cold days or just my waterproof Rocky gloves (a little thicker than I prefer, but work well). For the really really cold rifle hunting days...I usally wear the Rocky's with the muff. I have poor circulation in my hands and they get cold easy...but with the muff, my hands are still usable (they still get cold sometimes...but not bitter, freezing cold).
  10. I brought home a new (used) gun the other day from an auction. Picked up a Weatherby Mark V Deluxe .300 Wby mag with a straight 4x Leupold scope. Got the high gloss finished stock with cheek piece, rosewood pistol grip and forend and nice checkering. The gun has some small dents/scratches in the wood and a few minor marks in the bluing but I'd still rate this gun at or around 95%. Any guesses what I paid for it?
  11. Hope that works for ya! My uncle bought a Simmons scope for a Howa .223 and couldn't get it sighted in. Ran out of adjustment in elvation. He returned the scope to the factory...they sent a new scope. The new scope ran out of adjustment left and right...height was ok...but couldn't get it on left and right. I finally talked him into a Nikon buckmasters and has had a problem since.
  12. Congrats Carmen...real nice buck! Too bad Gary Alt is still haunting us.....LOL
  13. snapper

    Otpg !!

    Nice bull buddy.....congrats!
  14. He crossed the line....don't matter if the race was green or yellow! Under yellow, the field is frozen...so why would the others pass him? Any rate, it doesn't matter to me one bit...us complaining about it won't change anything. The biggest thing I find funny about this race is...NO ONE is tring to "hang" Jr. for running over the #5 car. How come when Stewart, Gordo, JJ do it...there is to be a hanging? And how come Jr. did get a penilty for agressive driving? What was it...30 laps into the race and Jr. runs over a chase contender....lol Wheres the lynch mob at?
  15. I know they passed him before he crossed....but it wasn't like it was in turn 4...heck they were just about to the line. Your aloud to win with no gas in the car...Stewart did it last year at the same track (and Hamlin pushed him). The field was frozen...you can't gain positions...if he would have ran out of gas on the back strech and never made it to the line...then I'd agree with you...but he made it acrossed the line, end of story.
  16. So your getting paid to advertise their scents...but you don't want to pay Realtree to advertise on their site. That is why the names you refer to gets deleted and you don't see them!
  17. I didn't hear Tony's Fbomb...so can't comment on that. If he said it and there is proof...then he should be fined like Jr. was for saying S%. Second, I wasn't at the track so I can't say how dark it was...the cameras can pick up light and make it look brighter than it really is. How safe is too safe to keep these drivers from crashing because they couldn't see? Third, the way I see the finish...Biffle crossed the line....everyone started passing him to congratulate him on the win. It was under caution and their position was frozen...what difference does it make if he didn't keep up to the pace car and/or crossed the line first? Now if he ran out of gas and didn't cross the line...then I'd give the win to 2nd car. Biffle won the race because of darkness.
  18. But didn't the car pass inspection before the race? Really, what could they have done on a pit stop that the offical standing there wouldn't have seen...all in 14 seconds none the less? I have no probs. with rules and keeping things fair....but these type of rules are just plain silly to me! He won the race...if lowering the car would have made him faster...then throw the book at him and take away the win. If infact lowering the car makes it slower...then what the heck is the prob.? He still won, and would have won with less cars on the lead lap if it was higher.
  19. And how many people on here defending him when he got caught with the water bottle? LOL What a piece of garbage! So many good people in this world who can't catch a break...and this clown (best word I could type without getting myself in trouble) throws it all down the crapper! And to think, there are folks who still thinks he didn't do anything wrong and is just being made an example of.
  20. Ok...if making the right rear lower hurts the car...then why does Nascar have a min. lower spec.? Why not a "too" high spec. Make the car as low as you want as long as it fits under the template? My guess there has to be some sort of advantage or they wouldn't have a rule on it. If it infact makes the car worse...then they better really go over that car with a fine tooth comb! His car was too fast and good...I can't even guess how much better it would have been? Any rate...rules are rules...25 points and a fine is strict enough IMO!
  21. Heard they've reached a tenitive agreement?
  22. Folks...I can see where that above comment seems rude and maybe shouldn't have even been posted...however, the thread was titled "rough hunt with rage 3 blade". So I can sorta see how someone may think that the poster is blaming the head. Let it go.
  23. Sounds to me...just from reading your post...that you may have just missed the liver and got some of the guts. My next guess (if thats true) is you prob. bumped her when you went back looking for her. I didn't make a great shot on my buck last season (not proud of it...but it happened). Hit a little far back (using Rage 2 blades)...after seeing some white hair...little blood and smelling the arrow, my gut told me that I hit too far back and I needed to get out of there. After arguing with my brother and buddy about leaving it and coming back the next morning...I went home and didn't sleep well. The next morning my brother and buddy were there to help. We started tracking and found some good colored blood (not alot) and chunks of matter here and there. Long story short, we found my buck about 150 to 200 yards away and he wasn't real stiff. He hadn't been dead long! I think most people don't wait near enough time and want to try and recover too soon. Anyone that has hunted long enough been in your shoes before...stinks I know!
  24. I prefer the 2 blade...never shot the 3 blades to be fair...just like the larger cutting dia. on the 2 blade heads. I've taken several deer with the 2 blades without any probs. so far.
  25. There is no padlock, chain, or cable that I'm aware of that a pair of bolt cutters can't snip right off. There is no way a stand is safe is someone really wants it. Sorry, but its the truth!
