  1. IMO...Best would be the Colt. However, they will all work for yote hunting and target shooting. Colt just has the reputation and been around forever!
  2. I really don't think its a BIG problem...just that the hinges help hold the door on and shut. If they are on the outside...they can be easily removed...that could be the first step for a theif to break in. It prob. wouldn't be easy or maybe not even posible to get it open...just one of those things that was in my head when I bought my 2 safe's. Here's an example (although a smaller scale) my wife has a little 2'X2' Sentry home safe that she used in college. Its fire proof, hinges on the outside and 4 locking bolts. She lost the combination years ago and we've been moving it with no idea whats inside (she couldn't remember). I told her that I could try and get it open...but no guarantees that I wouldn't break it and still may not be open. So I started with the hinges...popped them off...with a hammer and a pry bar...I not only got the door off...but the combination was inside. I unlocked the door (lying beside the safe) and put the hinges back together and still works fine. Like I said...a big gun safe would prob. be harder to do that to...dunno, never tried.
  3. They both would work to keep guns locked and secure...personally I wouldn't look at a safe that has the hinges on the outside...but thats just me. Browning is a better name (IMO) than Stack-on....I think you'll be happy with it.
  4. It doesn't matter what non-points race you win...it doesn't even matter where you start in a restrictor plate race! All that matters is being in the right place with 1-2 laps to go and having help. Last year, Harvick started 34 (I believe) and won the 500...and didn't win the championship. BTW, I kinda hope a Toyota wins...passing a Hendrick car on the final lap....lol.
  5. The 500 is on tom. (Sunday)...the Busch (I mean Nationwide) race is on today at Daytona.
  6. And you think Hillary is a good canidate with these qualities? LMAO!
  7. Don't think a muzzle break is needed on a .204 Ruger...lol I went ahead and ordered the Millett scope (6-25X56mm), only thing is...I ordered the high rings and I'm not sure if that will be high enough for a 56mm bell? Wait and see I guess...I'm thinking it won't be, but if is...it will be tight.
  8. I would bet that won't happen in the 500...JJ or Gordon will hang Jr. out to dry to win. That race was only 70 lap and prob. at least 15 caution laps...so to lead and win a 140 mile race is much different than 500 miles. Jr. always runs good at the restrictor plate races...I'm still holding judgement for his season. Glad he got the feeling of victory lane...shame it don't mean anything other than a selfasteem boost.
  9. 97% conservative and willing to vote for Hillary? You may think of yourself as 97% conservative...but there is absolutely no way shape or form that even someone 50% conservative would vote for Hillary. As for the assult weapons...guess its ok not to care if it don't affect you. Thats how it starts and when it does affect you...its too late to care! We can argue to we are blue in the face about politics and usally get nowhere...so you Liberals that want to vote a socialist into the Whitehouse...if you want bigger goverment and higher taxes and less freedoms...go ahead! Just don't try to get me on board with it!
  10. Hogs being released? LOL...ummm maybe, but around here, some hogs got loose from a "hunting" preserve and are living and breeding in the wild now. At first, everyone wanted them killed (including the PGC) and there were no regulations on killing them. NOW, I guess they need to be regulated...lol...prob. have to buy a tag and only to aloud to kill one a year. Guess what...no one will buy the tag and no one will be shooting them and next thing you know...they'll be over running the state.

    Gun broker

So true...I'd only buy if 1. its New in the box or 2. they have a 3 day (no shoot) inspection policy. I wouldn't think anyone who wasn't trying to pull the wool over your eyes would have a prob. with the 3 day inspection return policy.
  12. Tell me what law would make it tougher (than it is now) for a criminal to purchase a handgun? All the "laws" in the world won't stop criminals from having illegal guns...but it will drive up the cost for those who want to buy the gun legally!
  13. Define what is an "assult" rifle and why shouldn't I (in your opinion) be allowed to own one for pleasure or just to have?
  14. I'm not a McCain fan...but there is no way that "any" conservative can say they will vote for one of the other two evils over McCain! I will not vote in a "socialist" leader....McCain has my vote if he gets the nomination!
  15. Sorry to hear about your prob...Tasco took care of me a few years back (when they were Tasco). Sorta got the same thing..."don't know if we can fix it til we see it"...mail it to them and in a week or so later I got a brand new shotgun scope no questions asked!
  16. Lets not get too far off base...orginal topic was opinions on the TC. Lets face it...someone said earlier in a post...if they were bad guns...there would be no "hoopla". I don't own one and prob. never will, not because they are bad guns...just because I have no need or want. If you own something (gun) that you are happy with...so be it...don't try bashing another man's/woman's equipment because you don't "get it". I'm a little "ignorant" when it comes to muzzleloaders, but if I bought a knight muzzleloader...could I also get a shotgun barrel and unlimited rifle cal. barrel options? Some folks do fall for advertising but good products will sell and continue to sell. I don't own a Summit treestand...but I know they are good. I don't own a Matthews bow...but I know they are good. Same goes for a T/C encore! BTW Nick, a gun is only as good as the shooter behind it. I would never "GUARANTEE" a claim that you did...always someone better, no matter how good you are!
  17. Got the word from Scott that Team Realtree will be doing the Realtree Store gift cert. again this year for prizes!
  18. Couldn't pass up a deal on a new Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .204 Ruger last weekend. Now I gotta find a scope for it and see how it shoots. Not sure where I'm leaning for a scope...I want something that is variable with a higher power and target knobs, and adjustable objective. The only problem is...to get that in a good named piece of glass...I'd have alot more in the scope than in the gun. Not going there for a groundhog gun! Any thoughts on Millet scopes or any suggestions?

    Gun broker

Bought and sold on gunbroker...never (knock on wood) had any troubles!
  20. Why are the pictures dated 01/01/08?
  21. Don't really matter what they do...folks still won't be happy and complaining. If this passes (which I doubt it will) I'm sure I'll hear from some of the so called "meat hunters" (don't care about trophies because can't eat the horns) that they seen does in the first five days in their Unit but couldn't shoot them because of the stinkin' new law the PGC started...lol
  22. I'm still a Harvick fan...and wouldn't jump off his band wagon if he went to Toyota....LOL. Just curious to see how the Toyota's do this year with some good drivers and even more curious to see if Jr. can do something in a Hendrick car. DEI has good equipment (Truex proved that) and Jr. didn't do anything with that. I honestly think he'll do better just because of the switch and not have that whole DEI ownership thing on his mind. We'll see!
  23. There really should be an option for "don't really matter". Bet there would be alot of those...lol.
  24. I'll be there Sat....maybe I'll stop by early in the morning while my buddy's are going through the fishing junk!

    Gun Safe

I have two safe's...a Liberty and a Champion (which I believe are made by the same company). Love them both and have no complaints. I agree about getting the biggest one you can fit through your door...they fill up quickly! If you can bolt it down...by all means do so. They really aren't too hard for 2 guys to move around if they know what they are doing. My buddy and I moved my Liberty (Franklin series) from my old house into the back of my truck and to the new house. Rolling on its side on a few pieces of PVC pipe makes the job fairly easy. Now my Champion (its a "tad" bigger)...took me and the guy who delivered it almost 3 hours to get out of his truck and moved about 30 feet into my basement (which is ground level with 6' french doors). Once in the basement...we couldn't stand it up. Called some help and it took 4 of us to stand it up and jimmy into place. Told like a true OTPG member...bigger is always better...esp. in gun safes!
