  1. Uh yeah, what he said... Brand new out of the bag Winchester brass. hangunnr
  2. Welcome to Realtree SD!! Are you the same SDhandgunner from SP? hangunnr
  3. There's a bunch of 835 slug barrels listed over on GunBroker. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults.asp Quite a few listed under $170. hangunnr
  4. As Terry said, if you have a over bored barrel it is not recommended to shoot slugs throught it. Here's a passage from the FAQ page on the Mossberg site. "Can I fire slugs through my 935™ or 835® vent rib, Accu-Mag® choke tube barrel? No, 935™ and 835® field barrels (those with a ventilated rib) are "overbored," and the extra inside diameter may cause the projectile to "wobble" producing unreliable accuracy. A projectile may wedge inside the barrel causing an obstruction. Obstructions of any kind can cause damage to the firearm resulting in damage to the barrel and/or personal injury to you or those around you. Dedicated fully rifled slug barrels are available for the 935™ and 835® models. Other 935™ and 835® Accu-Mag® choke tube notes: Buckshot and steel-shot loads are not recommended for use with an extra full turkey tube installed." You can view the complete FAQ page here... http://www.mossberg.com/content.asp?ID=508&section=resources You ought to print a copy of this and go back to the gun store and thumb tack it to the "gunsmiths" forehead. That guy is gonna get somebody hurt. Oh, and by the way.... Welcome to the Realtree forums!! hangunnr
  5. My father just recently picked up the same piece. I haven't had a change to wring his out though. hangunnr
  6. "Thats 9.8 clicks up on the scope. " "thats 9.1 clicks" "15.9 clicks" What type of optics are you using that allow adjustments like that? Never seen a scope that allowed adjustments in those increments. Sure you don't mean MOA? hangunnr
  7. Gregg, Here's a link to a '94 on GunBroker. This one kinda sounds similar to what you have. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=107667430 I realize it's not the same as what you have but it might give you a ballpark number to work with. IMO your gun would have more value to a member of the machinist union than a regular guy. hangunnr
  8. Well go ahead and order a matching hat cause I'm bringing a .308... hangunnr
  9. I also hit the range today with a Remington 308. Been working on finding a good load for this rifle. The factory freebore restricts me from getting anywhere near the lands so I was a little frustrated with the results until today. I've settled on seating the bullet .15" further out than recommended. They won't fit the magazine but that's OK seeing as this is a range toy and not a rifle for serious use. Here's the results... Left is a 3 shot group from a prone off of bipod position. I need to work on controlling the butt of the rifle. On the right is a 5 shot group off of a front rest and a rear bag. With the McMillan stock it really sits tight off a good rest. I found it interesting how the bullet cut the target differently from the 2 different positions. hangunnr
  10. Looks like you're going in the right direction. Run a box of Federal GMM with a 175gr SMK and I'd bet your group size will be cut in half. hangunnr
  11. Don't worry Gregg, we have an outfit just for you... hangunnr
  12. I still think that's an good price for a NIB magnum action stainless Remmy. 300 Win Mag is a great caliber you won't be disappointed. hangunnr
  13. I pretty much shoot Leupold on my long guns these days. Years back I had two Simmons 44 Mag in a row that rotated the reticle after several rounds of 12ga slug. I wasn't game for another. hangunnr
  14. A decent price. What caliber is it? What kinda stock is on it? What is the barrel contour? Sights, or just drilled for a scope mount? hangunnr
  15. Small targets = small reticle. I prefer a fine cross hair or fine duplex in a scope. Haven't had any positive experience with Simmons scopes. hangunnr
  16. Looking forward to seeing the pix. hangunnr
  17. Don't worry about bringing one. I'll have a 3 or 4 that'll make that poke. hangunnr
  18. No scope needed.....Pert Near is close enough... Gotta believe that brake is factory original... No whining about the reciol pad...or lack therof... That brake does look kinda familiar..and this one has optics. I hear there's special attire for those that bring sub OPTG guns to this years event.... Guess I'll be wearing it as I intend to bring the one above and the one below. ...and maybe this one...we really need to stroke that 600yd steel with a handgun this year. hangunnr
  19. Well, the time is coming near to start making plans for the second annual fall Blastoff. I was out tooling around today and found what I'd like to bring to the shoot but aint quite sure the Strut10 artillery range is up to the task... Oh well, they most likely wouldn't let me borrow it for a week anyhoo... hangunnr
  20. Stopped by a buddies place last night and he showed me this fragment he found on his property. Had to be a pretty wild looking buck. The shot shell is a 3.5" for size reference. Would sure like to know where this guy lives... hangunnr
  21. How could they be low cal when I store them in a container like this.....LMAO.... .....and NO, they aint gonna be cream puffs..... hangunnr
  22. ...the DPMS LR308 is gonna eat good.... 500 pieces of fully prepped LC '07 brass and about 1000 150gr flat base full patch pointy thingies.... Time to warm up the Dillon... hangunnr
  23. First thing I'd do with that Ruger is find a set of hand filling rubber grips for it. It'll help make range sessions much more enjoyable. hangunnr
