  1. The 2008 season, I made what I thought was about as perfect as you could get...A doe I shot was broadside about 20 yards away, maybe slight quartering away, and the arrow went right behidn the shoulder, halfway up...Great blood trail, went about 45 yards. Then same season, my archery buck, he was 25 yards away, stopped him broadside, right shoulder forward and I watched the arrow fly straight through, behind the shoulder, right through the heart....Just beautiful. This past season I had 2 arrow broken d/t quartering away and the arrow getting lodged in the opposite shoulder.
  2. We want to put some type of wildlife forage-grass/clover/etc...around the pond and I plan to put some under the apple trees in our woods, as I'm going to try and make a little food plot thing for the deer and have a ground blind set-up for archery season. Anyway looking for something perennial obviously and sprinkle/rake it in type of thing. The pond bank will probably be mowed every now and then... Any suggested brands and forage types to look at? Thanks!
  3. Well good luck but don't be suprised if it gets you in more trouble than good...lol
  4. Anyone have one? What works well or what is good out there on the market? I want to get a fully enclosed blind to set up in our woods, near the apple trees where the deer were coming in last fall, and was getting photos of all those bucks...I want to make myself a nice little hunting spot in there and a ground blind would probably work best. Any recommendations/suggestions? Something under $200.
  5. Congrats on a couple of dandy birds!!! I can't wait to trick a bird with my A + J call as well:)
  6. Greed/selfishness is at the heart of everything...at least most it seems. Hope your bird comes back. Make sure you let the landowner know what happened.
  7. So great to hear from you Kathleen!! And the rest of ya!
  8. Thanks Muggs...caught on one of those leaders you told me how to tie...Of course after a couple broke off at various knot joints, I figured out why my knots weren't holding...Tried a different knot to join the various leader pieces - I think it was a uni to uni knot...either way worked well!
  9. Life/work/family keeping you all busy? I keep getting called in/asked to work...Makes for a nice paycheck...just getting tired. FYI I do get in here when I get the chance, so I'm still watching to make sure you are behaving:disolve: (and that includes a Mr. Tim 'Cookie' Andrus)
  10. Well amazingly today, day 3, it's about 5 times better. Did not need to take any ibuprofen yet...still a little sore but so so much better, thank the Lord. Next week is another long appointment...not sure what I'm in for then...I don't care as long as I don't feel it!
  11. Congrats, that's a beauty!
  12. Good luck KT! Keep after him....there will come the time he'll slip up and it will all fall into place....with the bird flopping on the ground! I chased a wary gobbler that I had missed like the first day last year....hunted him 8 days straight and finally caught him in a field...his bearded lady friend left and he was left for me take home over my shoulder:)
  13. Did you have any pain afterwards? How long? Mine isn't too bad but it's day 2 and while it's feeling a little better, yesterday I was taking Ibuprofen or tylenol every 4-6 hours....just really sore and throbby...Doesn't seem as bad today but gets kind of throbby there under the tooth. Was wondering if anyone experienced similar? Anything that helped?
  14. Some impressive finds wooly! Congrats! Especially when you started off with that nice non-typical set!
  15. Been doing my part...;-D

    Bad night

    How horrible.....
  21. Wow...that is darn amazing!! Will it see any blood on it or more for display?
  22. Do any of you have co-workers that, let's say, are "slackers" or you feel they take advantage of you? I worked a 7p-11p the other night and I already knew, from what I'd heard, the night shift staff were kind of on the lazy side. Well no duh, when I came on, the other RN and aid took their time, asked me to do vitals, and more often than not I caught them gossiping to each other, to other staff, chatting it up with patients. I have no problem helping out, but when I have patients to assess and chart on...well patients first I'm on again tomorrow at 7p-11p...same staff most likely. Any tips? Being that I'm new, I'm looking at keeping my mouth shut and just doing my job but at the same time I don't like feeling like someone is taking advantage...Just wondering if anyone has dealt with workers as such?
