The bow shop I bought my Elites from came through for me, they had bows down to 50lbs I could shoot and did a great job setting them up for me to try and found out I am better at 26" DL, 25.5" is just a tad short. So I thought I was really going to like Mathews. Well 1st bow I shot was a Hoyt Defiant 34. Let me tell you, love the grip on the bow, it was dead steady drawn back, smooth draw, lightweight, shot nice, just really felt good. Then I shot a Mathews HTX...harder to draw back, grip just didn't fit in my hand as well and not as steady. Then I shot a Mathews Halon. Real nice, smooth draw, but heavy and just did not balance well in my hand, grip was not comfortable. Shot the Hoyt again. I think next week I'll end up ordering a Hoyt for my new hunting bow but I may end up taking it for some 3D! The Defiant 34 is 34" ATA then the regular Defiant is 30" ATA. I don't know if the 30 will be much different from the 34 stability wise and shooting wise, anyone know? The 30 would be a little shorter for tree stand hunting and I'm only 5'5". I don't remember if there were any more Hoyts to shoot but after shooting that one, I was like wow this is nice. Guess I might be going back to Hoyt.
