  8. Guess I'll head it up again this year unless someone else wants to. Trying to get an idea here of how many are interested in participating? For those who don't know, you get paired up with someone and exchange a gift, usually $20 or less. You are responsible when names are drawn to contact each other and exchange gifts. I can't remember if I had a post limit last year, to help ensure we had active members/participants. Anyhow post here if you are interested!
  9. Too bad hoosier! I've become a little more selective in my area, a neighbor we hunt with is also, but no one around is so it's hard to do any type of management, even on our small lease, as the deer come and go, so for surrounding people it's a free for all. I'm hoping a few good ones made it through to pass on their genes, and maybe one to give me a shot come muzzleloader!
  10. Nothing like some good venison ribs! Love em off the tender little ones
  11. Have a doe tag may go out and try for a doe with shotgun this last week then next week muzzleloader starts, looking forward to trying to get my first ML deer
  12. Wow Rhino, congrats! That is a whopper!
  13. Good info, thanks guys! Should I be concerned about condensation affecting the pellets if I bring the gun inside?
  14. too pointer, I believe my Hornady SSTs are 2 3/4" shells.
  15. Wondering how you guys care for your ML during hunting season? When I'm done hunting, I un-load in the field, when I get home take it inside but then end up having to thoroughly wipe it down due to the condensation going from cold air to warm air. I read somewhere some say leave it outside. What do you guys do? Also when you shoot for ML prior to season, how many shots do you put through it before cleaning and what's your typical cleaning routine? End of season I deep clean and put the grease inside the barrel, during season I use the pre-saturated pads to wipe it out and just a lightly coating of grease,
  16. too-pointer, I'm shooting a Mossberg Bantam 20 ga with rifled slug barrel with cantilever, shooting Hornady SSTs out of it, have a Nikon scope on it. My opening day buck this year I took at about 75 years, about as good a broadside shot you can get, clean pass through. I've shot a few other deer around that range as well....this combo is deadly. Each year before season opens I pull the gun out, put my rifle barrel on, and shoot to check it, stays dead on. I love this set-up.
  17. Beautiful buck William, congrats!! You and mrswtn are having a great year!!
  18. Geesh RTF, wish you lived closer, you do some good taxidermy work! Very nice!
  19. Awesome, congrats on 2 great deer! That buck is a nice one!
  20. Great job Team 1...quite the team score right now! Planning to hit the woods again for muzzleloader, maybe can get an upgrade;)
  21. I'm sure some of you have seen Buffalo, NY on the news with the major lake effect snow they've had. I am thankfully to not live there, they are in bade shape. Sun is out where I live, by the grace of God we were spared. Local TV stations have been broadcasting almost the whole time, people are still stranded. And they are predicting another band of lake effect to come! But warm up next week which spells possible flooding with all that snow. I am ready for spring now.
