  1. Taking my 11' Elite Hunter for bow season...looking forward to fresh meat:)
  2. Deer will catch your wind before they see a blue nock....
  3. Use to sit almost all day during the gun opener weekend....Last year filled my buck tag opening morning. If I still have my bow and tags during the rut, I'll sit longer but not ALL day...there's something called work, lol
  4. Other than those who sign-up and never participate, I think the contest runs fairly well. Now if the deer cooperate for everyone, lol
  5. He shot one cause he wasn't busy texting on RT, lol!
  6. Have you shot an arrow with one on yet? Good idea to practice and see how they perform.
  7. I find Walmart clothing just doesn't fit well....Rarely buy it...if I'm going to spend money, better of elsewhere. Now Cabelas is good is stuff:)
  8. I found out what a difference shooting at targets in the sun vs shade vs. indoors is, lol.

    NAP

I shoot the NAP Thunderheads...only broadhead I've shot.
  10. To not get so excited, lol. Want to settle and focus on my shot better when a deer comes in. After my season last year, I'm not making too many goals, just fill my tags;)
  11. Congrats Db, nice shooting! SoughGa - 3D shooting I think is a lot of help, it's one thing to shoot at a target with circles but deer don't walk around with those already on them, so shooting at 3D animals is great practice - shot placement, determining distance.
  12. I takes the hunting out of hunting...takes the challenge out of hunting....there is a reason why hunting is called hunting...I don't have scent control clothing, someone gave me a jacket as a gift, sure I'll use it, but I've always hunting with regular non-scented clothing...killed 2 nice bucks last year...Play the wind right and you'll have no worries.
  13. I watched whitetail freaks the other day, was a little disappointed when they kept saying the name of each item they used, advertising the whole time. Also when you can see the high fence in the background...the bucks they don't shoot because they "aren't mature enough" but would be absolute monsters where I hunt....Also when they spine shoot a deer and immediately turn the camera away to the hunter and it's obvious they cut part out and re-film a part to put in - be honest, showed you made a mistake and what you did to correct it.
  14. 2011 Elite Hunter25" DL. 52 lb Beman ICs Hunter 500s, will have NAP Thunderhead 100 grain broadheads on again. QAD HDX rest.
  15. Oooh yeah he's a nice one! Still got some growing time as well!
  16. Happy birthday bud! Have a great day!
  17. And tell your wife to keep in mind a successful hunt doesn't mean only killing an animal...Can't go out each hunt expecting to fill your tag immediately. Takes a lot of time and patience....
  18. Is the bow draw length adjusted properly for her? Sights and rest set correctly, proper arrow spine? It takes time and practice, especially if this is her first time shooting a bow. and I suspect she needs just time and a lot of practice. Take her to a pro shop, have someone watch her shoot...get her some lessons.
  19. It's late but a very happy birthday to ya Steve!
  20. I stick to fixed blade broad heads...less moving parts to break. I don't shoot my broad heads till a couple weeks before season. Until then it's just field points.
  21. Got a Kodak Playsport with a mount for the bow I'm going to try this year...
  22. Haven't used one. Have a copper john on my one bow and for my 3D bow ordered a custom Montana black gold sight...most $ I've ever spent on a sight but I think it's a better sight than the IQ from what everyone told me.
