Well I pulled thefactory ones off and installed the new ones...had to put on the little pieces of rubber underneath, they didn't tighten enough without them but then they really fit snug! I put them in about the same place as the factory ones, don't know if there is any science behind placement or not. Will post a pic.

I picked up a Truglo Pro Series Magnum Gobble Dot sight for my mossberg yesterday....tired of the flimsy ones that came on my mossberg fro mthe factory. Any tips on removal of the old and installing of the new? I'd like to do this myself, guy at the shop told me to install them where the old sights were. Of course he said if any problems, just bring it in and they'll do it, but looks simple enough to me to do, only thing I'm wanting to make sure about is installing them in the correct spot and getting the old ones off.

Wondering if you guys have or know of any nifty cases for cell phones...hunting related something...My new phone is a Verizon Enlighten and I want a case for it and thought something hunting related would be neat:clown:

Well I finally ended up with a Verizon LG 3G for$0.97 with a 2 year contract....Now just trying to figure this thing out!

We actually don't get too much deer activity until the fall...so the pines are actually growing well. The latest update is I've mowed twice around the pines, got a few briars mowed and today I took the tiller up...which was a long slow walk, lol, I tilled 3 strips for planting. Next step will be raking, I bought a soil test to use, then probably fertilizer and such then plant. Do you guys think driving a rider mower over it after planting would be too heavy to compact the soil down or will it be ok?

Anyone use the collapsible/cloth Montana turkey decoys? Found them on sale pretty cheap, thought about picking up a couple.... Anyone with experience with them? Do they work or no?

I took a hike this AM way up into state land where I took a friend last spring and we got on a gobbler deep in the woods. Well I found an old logging trail that got me up into the area, then did a little bushwacking but found the ridge we had the bird on, still scratchings all over the ridge this year and I saw 2 birds go running off over a hill. Set up a trail cam in there, hope to get some pics but looks like it's a spot birds like to hang out and hopefully no one else:clown:

Went to retrieve my trail cam off my old hunting grounds that are being sold, got this picture...got some hooks...for all I know it's the gobbler I've missed the last 2 springs...good news is I got permission again to hunt a piece of land up the road that I've hunted the last 2 seasons as well...

I think I'm going to try to find a Verizon, seems to have the best coverage area, some decent phones, does have $50 unlimited prepaid vs 2 year contracts and plans...

Did some phone calling, thinking, and praying. Decided I am going to work with Home Care and Hospice...down deep in my heart I believe this is where I need to go, it was just getting the courage to make the decision and take a step.... this is what I need to do. Will call tomorrow after sleeping on it and give them the official 'yes'. Going to have to research cellphones, GPS, and a new vehicle, so any suggestions, do post! It will be a M-F 8:30-4:30 job with weekends off and then rotating on call. I think it will be a nice change, I will away from hospital politics, and I will be serving the Lord in a different capacity. Good news is I have vacation 1st week of May and thn possibly a week off before I start my new job end of May...turkeys here I come, lol

LOL Steve Well last night I received a phone call - a job offer from Home Care.... Going to be making a phone call tomorrow for some more details on the job offer....I am hoping to make a decision this week....it's time.

On the corner of our property we planted some pines there last year...it was grassy and open....deer had a scrape there this past fall. I just spent some time mowing around the pines the other day and going to do a little more then till it up and plant it with this that I won in a raffle last night: Double Trouble - Food Plots - Products Hope it grows well. May be spending more time this fall hunting our 14 acres behind the house.

I was passenger while we were driving up to do some shopping yesterday prior to the 3D league party. It was misty/rainy yesterday, I looked out across this field and against the back edge I saw a big old black blob with a fanned tail showing off for a little blob next to it. Turkey season is almost here!

I placed first in the women's division of the 3D league!, woohoo!! I'm still kind of like "wow....." I also won a bag of foodplot seed in the raffle. The men and women also had a shoot-out for a 1/2 dozen arrows...rotated through the DART and 3D courses then at the end they had a pop up target...had to hit the 10 ring second shot, I hit the 8 so was out but I didn't care, it was fun and I didn't break any arrows. And when the women took to the 3D course, I was the only one to not break any arrow on the target with the metal hole...you'll see it in a picture. I had some guys and women come up to me afetrwards saying how well I shot. All I know is they seemed to think I'm a better archer than I think I am, lol:angel1: Here's some pics: Awards at the beginning, this is one of the guys at the shop who sold me my Elite and a great guy to deal with: On the 3D course with the other female shooters, the first pic here is me taking aim at the buck with the metal: Group shot of everyone shooting the pop-up target: I credit my mother with the photo taking, lol:turned:

It's not biased...personal experience this farmer has polluted - he killed off brook trout in a local stream a few years ago from manure going into a creek...He was fined a few years for manure polluting a local lake...Probable is he "knows people"....

The Indoor 3D Leage 'end of league' party/awards. I don't know where I stand but I'm thinking if they divide into male and female categories, I'd be somewhere near the top of the females. Also anybody who completed the league is eligible for the raffle for a new bow, rifle, muzzleloader, etc... I never win anything, lol, but maybe tonight will be different. I think there's some archery games to so taking the bow along, wish me luck. I dunno what to expect, I'm not usually a big 'gathering' goer. I think my mother is coming along to watch, lol.

Well looks like in the near near future...hopefully in the next month or so, I'll be leaving the current department I work in...there is going to be a full time 3pm-11pm position opening up in the Urgent Care Center and I'm up for first dibs:1eye: Althought 7am-3pm would be my ideal, I'm thinking 3pm-11pm might not be too bad...no more 5:30am mornings, lol. I'll get to see and do more, the staff there work well together, pay should be about the same though I'm hoping a payraise is in the works somewhere. The HomeCare interview went well but it's more of a desk job and there's a paycut and the mileage comp. for gas is probably not worth it considering the current prices...It'd be a 40 minute drive vs. my current 20 minute drive.

It was bound to happen....the farmer that let us hunt his land...the land I got my 9 pointer on this past season...the land I grew up on and have hunted on since I started hunting in 1998....well it was sold...the bank had put it up for sale and the one big farm that literally owns 1/2 the property I swear in my county has bought it....It's sad...this big time farmer pollutes creeks, damages habitats...and not too mention apparently he barely let's anyone hunt his land We got the news today, the farmer we know stopped and told andy...I happened to be on a walk with my mom and sister up in those woods. I guess he said he'd tell this guy we've always hunted there but I'm expecting the worse. There goes turkey, deer, and goose hunting. Guess I'll be turning to state land for turkey this May....I'm keeping hope we'll luck out and the guy will let us keep hunting but who knows... I'm keeping my eye out though on land for sale....goal is to get my own piece of hunting heaven.

Not huge but plenty happy!:toot: Up to 6 now for the year, I think it's my third best shed season now, believe it or not:shifty: First find a matched set side by side: I would not have found this shed if I hadn't of stopped to take a picture of a violet.... Plenty of more areas to hit around here....hope to pocket a few more..
