  1. Nice pic Mike:) Well tonight I went up to roost some birds and instead heard some idiot neighbor down the road shoot a rifle probably woodchuck hunting in a field adjacent to whee I was...scared me and kinda ruined the peaceful evening....ah well....
  2. Hope os, pretty sore today, lucky if I can hold the bow back when drawn....way over did it...
  3. So last night I decide I better get up to my gravel top roosting spot and listen for birds. Big rain/thunderstorm just passed through. Start up across the field and I see it way on the other side on the wood's edge...couple dark spots feeding then another spot that inflated like a ballon. I look through my binocs and sure enough it's a gobbler and I see a beard hanging down and a 'perfect' tail fan. I believe this is the gobbler I hunted hard last spring then missed at the end of the season. I just have this feeling because last year, he never roosted until after 7:30pm and he would hang out in the field and strut for his hens. He also had this absolutely beautiful tail, all the more I think "it's him". I don't even remember what I named him last year...any of you? Otherwise I think the "After Seven Gobbler" fits him well because like I said, last year he wouldn't roost till after 7 and several times wouldn't come off the roost until 7 or after.... I did get a pic, not great, but will post it. I have to work this weekend but Monday AM I'll be out there. I'm going to give the lady a call today who let me hunt her ridge last year and see if it'll be ok again this year, because it was her ridge or the ridge near me he always was on.
  4. Picked her up today...shot her till my arm wore out. got some kinks to work out with form...got into some bad habits with too long a DL. This bow's a keeper though:2guns: 2011 Elite Hunter 50 lbs 25" DL Easton Flatline arrows Extreme RT 900 .019 pin sight Whisker Biscuit rest Waiting for the quiver to come in. Also looking for a new release. Tried a TruBall Beast release today...hook is a bit different but I kinda like it.

  10. WTG, job well done, congrats!
  11. Change happens...and for some, family and work comes first, an internet forum comes second...People make choices and have priorities. Change can't be changed...
  12. I saw it once...What times is it on and what days? I keep missing it....
  13. A very blessed Easter! Don't forget inbetween all the sweets and such the real meaning of Easter - the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And don't forget to brush your teeth either after all the junk food:p
  14. curious as to how many of the RT ladies fish? If so, what species? I'm more of a trout girl myself, lol. Went out today in search of some brookies...fought my way through brush and beaver dams, caught 4 brookies, all released - two of them were about 2-3" and 2 of them were 4-5" but they are not stocked. Anything you haven't fished for but would like to? Myself it would be salmon...I've done steelhead but I'm talking about REAL salmon, lol
  15. FYI the shop called today and it's in! Going up Wednesday to put my hands on her and shoot her then bring her home where it's warm and safe:-p
  16. Got word my Elite Hunter is on it's way, should be at the shop next week....so you may get some photos next week:angel1: Dropped off my Whisker Biscuit and 3/16" G5 peep the other day. Also had them order an Elite quiver, had an Elite stabilizer set aside, and ordered some arrows to be done. Easton Flatlines were recommended so going with a dozen of those (2 white, 1 purple Blazers). Quiver, stabilizer, and bow are all in my fav. camo pattern...RT AP. Also got my Extreme RT900 .019 pin sighti n the mail yesterday, also in RT AP. Guy on Ebay selling them for $25. Just need to find a new release now... I'll keep ya all in suspense:poke:
  17. I myself haven't gotten out too much, when I have been empty handed. Anyone else still looking? Team 4 holds quite the lead currently in the contest:boxing:
  18. Scores updated 4/22/2011! Nice finds everyone!
  19. The spring turkey instinct is starting to waken up in my blood now...Got some nice weather coming up this weekend. Hoping Friday AM to get up early and take post on the old gravel pit ridge behind my house. Picked up one of the inflatable hen decoys with the realistic head at Walmart...quite impressed with the realism. then getting ready to turn into our driveway, there's something black in the road..."Hey mom, turkeys!" 3 hen turkeys had crossed the road from a corn field and down into the swamp and brush beside out house....rainy and cold so I'd bet heading up to the thick pines. Nice young hens:D Probably put a couple loads through my mossberg this weekend, make sure all is ok. Who else has the spring fever starting to increase?
  20. Kinda dead here...lol:( Been busy at work then when I'm not working, seem to be busy catching up on what I didn't do while I was working. No deer sheds for me this year yet....Gotta get some turkey scouting done this weekend hopefully. And in the meantime waitinf or my new bow to arrive:D Spring is coming in slow this year! What about the rest of you!?
  21. Happy birthday a day late Kathleen!
  22. Through the spine Ross, below the dorsal/back fin with a treble hook...that way the minnows can keep swimming...look lively:)
  23. Got a 2011 Elite Hunter 50-60 ln, 25" DL on order as of today! Held a Mathews, held the hunter, went back and held the Mathews, then the Hunter...Shot the Hunter, said "This is the one." I couldn't quite get comfy with the Mathews grip...maybe it's my small hands but the Elite just felt great in my hand, bow sat there, no tipping, shot it, felt great...Can't complaint, one great bow! I felt like I was torn between the two because it seems "Everyone shoots Mathews so they must be good." Well all bow companies are out there but Elite is going to be quite the contender...I decided to go Elite, be a little different than the rest...Guess I fell in love at first sight 3 weeks ago with it. Now to figure out quiver/sight/arrows/possible stabilizer....don't want to get too high in $$$ but I have a feeling I'll be close to $1000 when all is said and done. Bow was $789...came to $858 after tax...already put $500 cash down for it.Guy said 2-3 weeks. I will also say he was very helpful and I felt very comfortable there.
