  1. Work...trying to decide on a new bow...waiting for spring, that's about what's up, lol;) Welcome back!
  2. finally more condusive to spring time, maybe , lol. This is going to be the first nice weekend in a while and the nice weather is finally going to coincide with my weekend off!:toot: Gotta catch up on fishing and shed hunting and horseback riding and food plot preparation and...and...and...:shifty: What about the rest of ya?
  3. Caught them on small minnows Ross.
  4. Worst bow season for me...very few deer seen...I partly blame it on a bad corn crop...Had 2 shots - 1 in early archery, 1 in late archery after shotgun, unable to recover either deer. Needless to say if 2010 was bad, 2011 should be better;)
  5. I don't think the grip on the Mathews is that bad...I'm feeling slightly swayed towards Mathews now...I was thinking back to when I shot the Mathews Passion and when I shot, no vibration...the bow didn't even budge in my hand and I thought "Am I gripping to hard?" But I wasn't. The Elite shot great but noticed slight vibration and maybe a little jump at the shot. If I don't go today, probably Friday go shoot some bows again.
  6. Finally got my dream shot on the trail camera:) Few other pics from this set:
  7. Need to get back and shoot the elite and hopefully a Mathews in the same place...still in a dilemma between Passion and Hunter....

    New Bow

    Congrats! Show her off!
  9. Not really but the way this year has been...lol. One May season I was hunting, had a freak snow squall. Put enough down to coat the ground. Stopped and the sun came out and birds started gobbling. Snuck up to a field edge and called in a jake....BOOM. End of story:)
  10. Snacks....lol. Take a camera along, always fun to document the adventure. Make sure to let her make some decisions like "Do you want to move or stay in thisarea?" Etc...most of all have fun:)
  11. Stopped at a shop yesterday, shot a Hoyt Vicxen and Mathews Passion. Shot the Passion first - smooth, quiet, little top heavy, unsure if I liek the grip or not. Shot the Vicxen next - also smooth, quiet, noticed a little more hand vibration. Shot the Passion again, lol. I'd say the Passion took the edge over the Vicxen. So I'm down to the Mathews Passion or Elite Hunter, but I'm leaning towards the Elite. I think partly because of the thinner grip, extremely smooth draw, etc. I thought I'd like the Mathews grip, which I did, but it's thicker and I felt like I just couldn't get it settled into my palm compared to the Elite grip which just found it's way there. So narrowed down to those 2, might try and go shoot the Elite again next week and try and make a decision.:48::turned::angel1:
  12. Wow, too bad but a nice buck!
  13. I think so to RB ,lol. Going to go to a shop today to try some Mathews...this is myl ast stop...if a Mathews doesn't wow me, then next week hope to stop at the other shop and tell them to order me an Elite.
  14. Listen Tim...I'll send you cookies...I'll make sure they are nice and fresh and still warm...Let me go to talk to my horse first...:-p lol
  15. Yeah, someone mentioned that about their speeds in the past in my research of these bows but mentioned that it's no longer an "issue".
  16. Happy birthday Darla! Hope you had a blessed day and family treated you special!
  17. Andy and I went ice fishing today on a local small lake on the state land. Usually get brookies but scored big today on the biggest browns we've ever gotten out of this lake, unreal! All 20" or over. The catch: Top 2 are mine, bottom 2 are Andy's:
  18. Happy Birthday buckee! Have super day!
  19. Anyone shoot or own an Elite bow? Ummm....I shot one today and all I can say is wowzers. Super super smooth, lightweight, fast...Then I shot a Hoyt CRX and it was a completely different world. to me the Elite was way smoother than the Hoyt. Hope to shoot some Mathews tomorrow.
