  1. 40s and 50s here...got the buckets out collecting maple tree sap. Picking up shed antlers....it's a fabulous February thaw. Wish I wasn't working next 2 days, I'd hit the steelhead stream! Suppose to cool down this coming weekend.
  2. Awesome, looks and sounds like a great time!!
  3. For some fishing. About that time for steelhead. Ordered some stuff for my fly rod, started tying up some flies. Getting ready to hit the stream once the fish get into the creek which should be pretty soon. Anyone else getting ready for spring time fishing?
  4. Yeah they arent marked pro-staff. Vortex looks like a decent scope to. Wondering if anyone has tried Centerpoint? I know it's a cheaper scope.

    Bucket List

Hunt Elk out west Out of state whitetail hunt - dream hunt would be for a big thick chocolate antlered canadian whitetail) Salmon fishing in Alaska
  6. has been made. Have a Hoyt Pro-Defiant on order. It was a toss up between that and the Bowtech Reign but the Hoyt had a bit smoother draw, felt better built and balanced well. Also more color options, lol. I'll hopefully hear next week what the time will be on it. It will be 26" DL, 40-50lb (will max out), with black riser, purple limbs. Too bad it doesn't come in a 45-55 option because the one I shot I was pulling 54 lbs, it wasn't bad at all.
  7. Good to check different Walmarts. I know in my area...they all carry some different stuff and some carry more hunting stuff than others.
  8. Yesterday stopped at Walmart. Got a package of the ScentKiller spray - a full spray bottle plus a large refill bottle, together for $3!
  9. So I'm keeping my eye out for a good deal on a decent scope for my Muzzleloader. Someone lent me there Simmons which did the job but fogged up and poor light transmission through it. What are you guys using and what might be a decent scope that won't break the bank but is decent?
  10. hammerforged...wow I looked at TruTimber's website...they have some nice patterns!
  11. Is Mothwing Camo out of business? I have a t-shirt in there camo. Use to have a headnet/facemask in there camo, loved it then lost it in the woods turkey hunting.
  12. Great point Ranger....I also can admit I have some came that is not Realtree....but it's darker. Realtree needs to do something new...they've fizzled out a little bit
  13. Congrats!! The draw is smooth. The Pro-Defiant I tried, I was pulling 54 lbs I'll probably settle with a 40-50 lb maxed out. The Avail is a good looking bow. I have the Halon but just didn't like the grip or weight, hence why I haven't tried the Avail.
  14. Was just going to say there are tons of commercials the Mossy Oak Obsession as the camo of the NWTF.
  15. 30.5" Bow. I did try a Carbon Defiant 34...did shoot or feel as nice as the 30.5". What I found out was when hunting with the Mathews, for me it didnt work in the deer stand, and just a little bit heavy for my liking. Sometimes you don't know till you really start using something.

    Night shift

Not working night shift but I am doing a 15-16 hour day tomorrow ...8 hrs at one facility, another 7-8 hrs at another facility.
  17. Picked up this matched set on state land on January 16th. Few still holding on my trail cams at home.
  18. Well I think I'm going back to Hoyt. Sell my Mathews and think I'll order a Pro-Defiant. Shot one this past week and really liked it. Toss up between that and the Bowtech Reign. Hoyt held nice, drew nice, shot nice. Going to be my new 3D rig and probably hunting with it also.
  19. Last week picked up a Buck Commander target for $20. This week they have the Morrell Bionic Buck and Deer targets, which were around $250 down to $150, so I picked up a bear for my collection. Also picked up a Realtree AP snow camo shirt for $4. They have alot of their mineral/attractants marked down. There was also NAP Thunderhead 100 grain broadheads for $9
  20. Wow, 7s? Is that what you hunt with? I've always used 5s or 6s.....do 7s have a benefit over those shot sizes?
  21. Thanks guys for the input. I'm headed up to my pro-staff shop today for 5-spot league and they have a pro-defiant I'm hoping to try out tonight. Tomorrow going to go up to where I shoot 3D indoor league and they have the Bowtech.
  22. How awesome, what a great buck! Great job and congrats!
  23. One day Tim...I'll meet you at a show...with cookies, lol
  24. Sounds like a blessing in disguise...awesome dog!
