  1. Yup...I think "Wow, and God made this...how incredible". I see on TV once in a while a photo of earth from space and it's just one of those "awe" moments...knowing that God created the heavens and the earth and then how small we really are in size to the earth. I star gazed a few times this summer and it's just like "whoa"....
  2. Hunting season is here....so is fall which means lots of temp./weather changes. So make sure you take care of yourself and stay healthy...weather it's vitamins or eating an orange a day or whatever. Make sure to get sleep when you can. Working in urgent care lately, have been having lots of colds and flu symptoms. The weather here has been starting it's roller coaster ride. So just a reminder to keep yourself healthy!:pullup: You wouldn't want to miss your deer opener now would you:clown:

    Hens...

So I know hen turkeys can have beards...I know of one around here myself. I've heard on occasion they've also had spurs and some have seen a hen strut and gobble. Well I was just down feeding the chickens and just now discovered one of the hens has about 3/4" long spurs!:clown: Kinda cool I think...I told mom she has a bi-gender chicken, lol:clown: We have no idea if she lays or not...but def. kind of cool to see!
  4. Usually my broadheads hit slightly diff. than my field points. Not too much. I just adjust my slights. I think possibly to is with your form, broadheads accentuate any slighty problem as well....
  5. I like Team Thwack. I suppose though whatever the majority likes is fine with me.
  6. Got one this AM, 11" tails. Will get it entered. Saw 3 others, could not get a shot. Good crop of acorns and beech nuts this year!!
  7. I've seen the quick clot stuff...never tried it myself...so dunno how it'd work on major injuries...probably work on minor but anything major, would be applying pressure and a turniquet for sure. Wouldn't hurt to have it though!
  8. Looks like an awesome time!! Great way to close out the summer!
  9. What's everyone got going on? Spent a good part of today using a hedge trimmer to trim mom's shrubs out back...my poor arms. Tomorrow my sister and I are volunteering for a couple hours at our town's labor day grounds selling horse pull tickets. Our vet is in charge so we do it each year to help out, esp. since he is our neighbor and vet:) Hoping for an afternoon squirrel hunt as well:ninja::gun2::gun_bandana: What about the rest of ya?
  10. I do wooly! Sat by a field that had been round baled recently...watching for deer, waondering if there were any sheds I missed rolled up in those bales, lol!
  11. lol wooly:-p Know Chris, eye don't C any kid in tha corner
  12. Yeah, I'm planning on sending a card to her and in time go up...just not now...give things some time. Thanks for the input.
  13. My mom flew out of Toronto to England and back in to there..She didn't have any problems but then she wasn't carrying any guns or anything. Hopefully all goes well for ya Tim!
  14. Good deal ya going there wooly! Very nice... I carry a small one with my, few bandaids, gauze, tape, whatever I might need if I cut myself. My first aid kit I walk around with at summer camp...it's intense, lets ;eave it at that, lol. I'd also recommend an emergency blanket, they are compact and they work as a blanket as well as a shelter. Doesn't hurt either to throw a couple aspirin in as well or Tylenol...aspirin if you or someone your with is having chest pain...good precautionary...Tylenol or ibuprofen for headaches, sprains,etc...
  15. So I haven't talked about it yet but here's what happened...still not sure what I want to do or feel about it. Remember when I got permission to hunt this neighboring property back in the spring where that big gobbler I chases was hanging out? I think I mentioned the landowner came in for rehab and I talked to him and he told me to hunt whenever and I could hunt squirrel, deer, turkey, etc...He was very nice about it. Well after finishing camp, my first day back at the hospital, he was there as a patient again but not for rehab. Essentially his poor drinking habits in the past caught up and he went into liver and kidney failure. The following morning he passed away:angel2: His wife is nice and she probably would not mind me hunting but right now, to me, it seems out of place to even go back and check to make sure it's still ok to squirrel and turkey hunt. It's one of those things that's hard to explain. I was even in shock when I came in to work...he was a completely diff. person than the first time there. I have other places to hunt so it's not a huge issue but it is where the turkeys hang out:ninja: Anyone else been in a similar predicament?
  16. After getting trail pics right about now of bucks, do you ever wonder where their sheds were when you were looking all spring and couldn't find them? I'm wondering that myself right now with all the bucks I've seen here....
  17. Post up a photo of what you'll be hunting fall turkeys with - calls, gun or bow, etc... I've got to go get a pic of mine but I'll be toting my Mossberg 500 Super Bantam, no Red Dot, just the sights it came with because the Red Dot went:hammer1: And I'll have one of my custom slate calls by Andy (bowhunter56). Did not get a fall bird last year so hoping to this year!
  18. Nice buck and nice flint knapping!!
  19. Chris...I can't imagine going through all you've been through but keep your head up. I say anything you can do to get out and spend as much time hunting, do it!
  20. We've had it happen a couple times at Walmart. We are extra careful now to make sure we've got all out bags...it's a pain to leave something...
  21. ttt...$40 TYD...good deal on a basically brand new release...
  22. Nice bucks stonecold!! Who do we have left that has not checked in yet? Any team name ideas? Here's a couple: Team Antler Freaks Team Camo Comrads Team Oh Deer!
  23. I just got my first homebrew trail cam...I am very impressed...way better photo quality than my Leaf River but my Leaf River is pretty good still:) I used to have a Scoutguard 550 that I really enjoyed as well.
