  1. Now don't think in a moment I'm one of these "dominating" type husband that believes a womans place is in the home. My wife probably only cooks a true "home cooked meal" two times a week. But I swear--almost everytime she does I get the call at 5:55--can you stop at the grocery store for this or that. It never fails either--it's always on a busy day that i'm beat and just want to get home and relax with a cold one. Also--the kids were at school all day--she passed the grocery store two times without the kids--once after dropping them off and once on her way to pick them up. I spend my lunch hour going to the appliance store to get a heating element for the dryer--then spent the time after dinner repairing the dryer. I've enjoyed the thread!!!
  2. heck ya---i'll hunt for a morning then walk right to the food plot and pluck a turnip and eat it right there. I was walking my food plot just last week and plucked some cowpea pods off the vine and ate them. Heck--if they can grow big horns or deer no telling what they can do for me:D
  3. congrats big guy! I'm happy for you two. todd
  4. Here's the deal--you guys/gals tell me if I'm just an old grouch or do I have a valid point?? My wife is a stay at home mom. I work a good 40 to 50 hours a week. AT LEAST once a week she calls me and wants me to go to the grocery store--after a long day at work--to pick up a few items. So this afternoon she calls me at work--"Todd, can you stop by the grocery store and pick up a loaf of bread, some lettuce, a tomato, and some Ranch dressing for dinner tonight?" My response---"Didn't you just pick up the kids from school? Couldn't you have left a few minutes early and stopped by the store?" Wife: "Well I didn't know what I was going to cook for dinner when I left to pick up the kids." Todd: "Then why didn't you cook something that didn't require the above items?" Wife: "Fine--I'll just wait until you get home and I'll go get it." Todd: "No--I'll go ahead and get it." Wife: "Fine---click!!!" hmmm--Don't you just think God was bored when he made man and woman:confused:
  5. it's tough to find a breeding when you have the male. There are so many nice male labs out there with hunt test/field trials titles and all the health clearences (hip, elbows, eyes, CNM) that it makes it tough for the guy who has a male that is a great hunting dog. It might be easier in the long run to get you a nice female yourself if you want to breed him. good luck todd
  6. might have something to do with a buy out clause of over 2 million--however I do believe both him and the AD will be gone after this season. How 'bout those Cowboys!!!!!!!
  7. looks good Todd. Both the deer and Grandma will be happy.
  8. yep--that's happened to me a few times. Just too hard to say no.
  9. they still have 3 weeks before i need them.
  10. yep--seems a couple times a year this question gets asked--and I ALWAYS get brought up. Share a life changing experience with a group of friends and look what happens. mine worked out fine--only problem is everytime I see a fire hydrant I really get the urge to PEE:)
  11. sorry for the loss of your friend. I hope God grants peace on all his family and friends
  12. come on guys--let this thing die. It took me months of therapy to get that pic out of my head. Now it's all back again. I don't know if I can take it.
  13. while goose hunting. Tragedy for the Avery Company It was just announced that Avery Pro-Staffer Josh Leger was tragically killed yesterday while hunting in Quebec. Details are sketchy, but someone thought their Snow Goose spread was real geese and crawled up close enouth to fire a .22 rifle into the spread that struck Josh above his eye killing him instantly. His hunting partner heard the whine of the bullet and a tiny impact and asked Josh if he had heard that. When he got no answer he got out of his ground blind and found that Josh had been hit and killed. I hear the shooter is in custody. This hits me hard as I had this happen twice to me in Arkansas years ago and luckily nobody was hurt. This is why I don't spread hunt Snows anymore there. What a senseless act by someone knowing he was breaking the law in the first place. My youngest son, Stephen, works for Avery and it hit the company hard to loose such a good friend to many there. Please keep the family and friends in your prayers. This was copied from another forum. I don't know the original author.

  17. and being led by an OKIE!!!!!! Holliday is a heck of a player.
  18. maybe it has something to do with the offensive line also????
  19. Did a quick early morning bowhunt (with no success) and took a few pics walking back to the truck: Creek plot: This spot only gets abut 4 hours of sunlight and the soil stays very moist--i'm guessing that is why it is doing so well. The soil type might have a little bit also. Goose/Deer plot. Mainly wheat with a little wildlife mix added: This is my new perennial plot I replanted this fall. Might be a LITTLE thick on the annuals: A little close up of all of the Hamann Farm's perennials:
  20. seasoned opened monday--i'll be going out for the first time in the morning--wish me luck. It was in the 90's today--too hot for deer hunting but what the heck--sure won't see any in bed.
