Does anyone have any experience with the Burris Signature Select series of scopes?
I am looking at the 3-12x44 with the Ballistic Plex in matte. It will be going on top of my 7mm STW. I really like the Zeiss Conquest series, but I am looking at the Burris due to the Ballistic Plex.
Thanks for any input.
Re: Matte finish - rebluing?
I know that Gander Mountain provides these services, but I have never used them. You can check their prices and services at www.gandermountain.com.
Re: Good Hunting Boots
Mach1,
I guess your brother got two bad eggs. I have about 1000 miles on mine. My Rocky's have been all over, from Northern Quebec to West Virginia and then some. Sorry to hear about his misfortune.
Re: Good Hunting Boots
I am like most, I have two pairs of boots. I have my Muck Boots and a pair of Rocky's (older version of the Bearclaw). But, you might want to consider Irish Setter also, never heard a complaint about them.
Got my first groundhog of the season today. Got him at 90 yards with Remington 597 .22 Mag. Not to pat myself on the back, but it was a sweet neck shot.
Re: Pope and Young Club
If I ever get my lazy butt to an official scorer I will have my bear in the books. You need 18" for the books. I roughed him at 19 3/8.
Re: How much $$$
Rayzorp,
I sent you a PM for a Davis Sports Shop in Sloatsburg, NY. Great shop. I bought my bow and several guns off of them. Very nice people.
Re: Reload your own
I will have to get back to you on this one. My buddy and I just picked up a press and dies and all the fun stuff. But I have yet to make a bullet. I will be reloading for my .270 and 7mm STW. Once I get a chance to play around I will let you know.
Re: \" Brush guns \"
I read an article many moons again in some publication in which they did a test on what they thought would be the best brush gun, under 75 yards. They set-up a target beyond some simulated brush. To simulate the brush they took a bunch of round dowells and lace them between two pieces of wood. Then they fired rounds through it to see how much they deviated from course and weighed the bullets after. At under 75yards the winner was the .35 Rem.
Now for my preference from the gun closet. My .30-30 for the shorter brush shots, under 75 yards. I shoot the Remington Core-Lokt 170gr.
Re: Any new toys planned this year?
So far for the year I have added a Kimber Tact Pro II .45 and a Remington 700 7mm STW. I think I am done for the year. Unless a deal that I can not pass up comes along.
Re: New Kimber
I have a Kimber Tactial Pro II. I love the gun. I would not trade it for any other 1911, with a 4" barrel, on the market.
Good luck and congrats.
Re: Rainwear??
I spent a week in Quebec in Cabela's Rain Suede. I rain just about everyday at some point in time, and snowed at others. I stayed very dry. Was very impressed.
Here is a link to the jacket. They also have matching bibs.

Does anyone have any experience with Jard triggers? I am looking at the Jard Model H Trigger Remington 700 32 oz Complete with Safety Silver. Midway has it for $133. Just wondering if anyone has any info on the triggers before I spend money.
Thanks
