  2. Re: daughters first buck!! Brett-Kaylee and Tyler must never meet lol-Congratulations on the great shooting and the nice buck.
  3. Re: **PEACHES\' BUCK** nice buck peaches
  4. Re: What a Morning!! I overestimated the thickness of the ice lol or wait maybe underestimated my own mass lol. All I know it was cool on the pinkies.
  5. Re: What a Morning!! It's soo frustrating for me cause they own the land next to me but are just the most clueless hunters you canb imagine. They were out there again tonight driving down my fenceline-it just totally screws up the deer movement. I could care less if they shoot one of those big bucks but I get sick of my hunting getting interrupted by them. They've hunted that land for years and still haven't figurted things out yet. I see at least a dozen good bucks out there every fall but not one dumb enough for them to drive up too.
  6. Re: What a Morning!! He was pretty good Steve-if I'd of stayed put he might of ended up right in my lap-that hot doe was only 10 yards from me-he could of made a scrape by my bullet riddled corpse. Those clowns know I hunt there too.
  7. Re: Ever find any poly tip...... Yes Ty found the polytip off an SST in the first deer he shot with one.
  8. Headed out this A'M about 20 F with a howling wind and snow flurries was dressed to stillhunt so was a bit cold. Decided to cross this little creek and hole up on the downwind side of a brushpile-when I went to jump the running part I went through the ice up to my knees-just soaked my squaw moccasins-so I'm sitting on this brushpile wringing my socks out when this doe and fawn come barreling across this field and cross about 10 feet from me. The doe holds up and stops no more than 5 yards away-has a pee-scratches her nose with a back foot and decides to wait for her boyfriend-here I am with wet hands one sock on and I can't move because I know her buck buddy is not far behind-well I see him coming but some road warriors spot him too and head down north edge of field to cut him off. I sit tight and he's headed right to me except he stops to stare at truck with his lungs pretty much inline with my head. The truck hits the brakes-I jump up and do the one foot hopand wave so the idiots don't shoot. The doe and buck kinda stare a few seconds than he passes to the north of me at about 15 yards just outside my property. GOD I HATE ROAD HUNTERS!!!!!! They cruised up to the fence to chat but I was wayyyyyyyy to steamed to visit with a bunch of lazy slobs. P.S. my feet did kinda warm up on the 11/2 miles back to my truck.
  9. Re: 2004 ND Rifle Buck Beauty!!!!
  10. Re: Curve Ball\'s of Life Wish you the best of luck-and I think that muley hunting is best therapy for the spirit I can think of.
  11. Re: Just sick!!! He might of got into posted land on either side of me so can't get into there to look for him-I used to hunt both spots but the owners got so sick of road hunters that they just banned hunting altogether. I'm pretty sure he's dead in that jungle he got into-we'll keep looking. Speaking of roadhunters had a truckload drive down my fenceline and chase all the feeding deer off Sat. A'M' just makes my blood boil. I managed to get a certain partially frozen finger in an upright position when they got into view and they wisely vacated the area-lazy slobs.
  12. Re: Mule Deer Rutting Hard (photos) Hey SaskMan remember the last spot we looked on Friday there were three big 5x5's a 100 yards north of that fence Saturday morning-another buck straight west and a decent buck right at the creek. Hope she's still shaking on Monday.
  13. Re: daughters first mule deer! Hey glad you got into some good hunting-I'm sure that rancher would accept a beer lol.
  14. Re: Holidays!! how did you make out phoning hassum.
  15. Ty and I were stillhunting this A'M when we got face to face with a nice 5x5 at about 15 yards-he was doing the head bob-then finally quartered towards me-I shot himright on the shoulder was sure it would punch into his heart and lungs-staggered him and thought he'd be dead within 50 yards. Well I tracked him for a half mile on my hands and knees through a willow jungle-picked up a handful of bone fragments along the track but finally lost blood. Left him for 3 hours then Ty, Saskman and I looked for 3 hours this afternoon. It's so warm and no snow-heard the coyotes start up just at dark so I think I know what happened to him. I was shooting a handload and maybe it blew up on his shoulder-I'd tear my tag up but I need to carry it to look for him.Unbelievable how tough those big whitetailbucks are.

    Despondent!

Re: Despondent! 10acboy now where did you hear that one-reading in the supermarket checkout line lol.
  18. Re: Loading a deer Saskman you never fail to impress me lol-and if you forget your ladder just call 'Ernie' lol.
  19. Re: Canadian forum member get together. I think early spring would be a good time-combine shed hunting and gopher smacking.
  20. Re: Loading a deer I'd like to see you pick up a deer in Saskatchewan and just 'throw' it in -tooo funny. Take a sheet of plywood-tie a rope around head to front of truck-put end of plywood on truck bed-roll deer on other end-lift it up and wiggle it in. Like someone said a come along woreks good-or I just 1/4 them in the bush first.
  21. Re: Name that tune *(revisited)* 'At it and too it and too it and at it' 'You gotta tune your attitude in' 'If you don't get at it-when you get to it' 'You won't get to it-to get at it again' Bet nobody gets this one lol.
  22. Re: What\'s the best scope for the money? My Leupold is 21 years old the finish is worn off-I've shot dozens of deer, yotes, moose, bear etc and it never moves -awesome scope.
  23. So Pelk did your muledeer hunt live up to my advance billing lol.
  24. Re: No stopping a buck in rut! I heard the funniest story the other night my taxidermist shot at a buck 22 times while he was following a doe-it's all on videotape too-she says she couldn't hit him to save her life-in fact he bred the doe twice while she shot at him-he finally walkied into the bush where she tracked him and killed him with her 23rd bullet-now that's extreme buck fever and wild deer lust all combined.
  25. Re: My Remembrance Day Big Typical Muley Nice buck and good looking country for sure-wait till you see superguide's jr's field pic it will show how adaptable mulies are. Totally different terrain from there.
