Go to www.gobblerguns.com Call them and ask them what choke and shell they suggest for that particular gun. They will save you a lot of time and money in trying different shells and chokes. They will swap their chokes with you until the gun shoots the best. They wouldn't make that offer unless they were very good at getting it right the first time

I'm not a Mossberg fan. But I am a fan of Overbored barrels for shooting great turkey load and duck load patterns. Both of my Brownings have that feature. The 535 does NOT have the overbored barrel. The 835 does. For Turkeys and Waterfowl I'd go with the 835 over the 535 if you want to stick with Mossberg.

I know the Limbsavers are popular. I've got some but I like the Hi Viz better. http://www.hivizsights.com/XCoil-Redi-Fit-Pad-P11C4.aspx Also look at getting a mercury recoil suppressor that fits in the magazine in place of the plug (magazine tube). http://www.mercuryrecoil.com/suppressors/index.htm#top Both of those items together will really take the sting out. Another option is to install a magazine extension and use the weight of extra shells to take the recoil at the bench. When you actually hunt with the gun simply don't put as many shells in it and the gun is lighter.

Believe me this will save you a bunch of time and money. Call Gobblerguns Tech and Inquiry at 1-870-251-9955 Tell them what gun you have. Make, model and barrel length. They will have the best suggestions for what loads and which of their chokes will work best for your gun. They don't just make chokes they custom modify guns and confirm the patterns. They have a very good database on what works best with most guns. If you just want a choke that's fine. They'll give you their best suggestions. If the choke doesn't perform well enough they will exchange it for free for a different choke until you are satisfied with their choke. I've got two of their chokes for two different guns and was immediately satisfied with their performance. I've cleanly killed five gobblers with their choke. Gobblerguns will save you the expense of testing different loads and chokes. Here's a video of me using their choke.
