    Sick of insomnia

My 6 mg = 6000 mcg That's 20x the dosage of the 300mcg pills. See what I mean about varying dosage levels being available. Some folks are more sensitive to it than others. So you don't want to overdo it. Work up to the level that helps and don't exceed it. I've been taking it for seven years trust me the dosage level is crucial.

    Sick of insomnia

Give it another try. Several years ago there were many brands of Melatonin that really didn't contain any melatonin. There are also several different strengths to choose from. I take 6mg which is twice as much as it takes for most people (doctor ok'd this for me). There are several smaller doses available that are worthless to me. Also note your body metabolizes Melatonin very quickly when you are exposed to sunlight. So it's not worth a darn for sleeping in the daytime or if you take it before the sun goes down. I had to learn all this stuff against my will.

    Sick of insomnia

I haven't slept unmedicated in seven years since my accident. Believe me I've been through the wringer on sleep aids, sleep studies and sleep suggestions. I've been going to one of the best sleep specialists in the state. The insomnia is a result of my accident. Not as bad as it was but still a far too frequent visitor. I take melatonin and lunesta. That works MOST of the time. Sometimes it just isn't going to happen. Doesn't matter how much activity I've had during the day. Some of the worst nights are when I've really wore my self out and should go right to sleep and then I can't.
  5. Nice! Get some sleep. Looking forward to pictures.

    Are you brave enough?

    Ok here's a recent one.
  9. Great music and great playing. Check this video out!
  10. Thanks! I'll tell you something that is almost always true. Someday only comes when you put it on the calendar
  11. On this past trip I completed the archery slam on the four major species of spiral horned antelopes in South Africa. There are two subspecies of the Kudu and bushbuck available but these are the four major species of spiral horns you can hunt in South Africa. The only animal I didn't take at S'dudla was the Kudu. I could have completed the slam there at S'dudla in just one trip! In fact I saw seven kudu on the last day and I was not specifically hunting them! These spiral horns are widely considered some of the most difficult plains game animals to get with a bow in South Africa. I thank God for leading me to S'dudla!
  12. Thanks! The FDA won't let me bring meat from Africa into this country but trust me I ate my fill there!!!
  13. Yep the 340 has a little shorter power stroke and more forgiving brace height. But since I shoot a 31inch draw I get that full power stroke and all the performance of the 350.
  14. I shot Gerhard's 350 Destroyer when I was in Africa. His draw length is an inch shorter than mine. Without changing the set up I honestly could have hunted with that bow right then. That was comforting if something had happened to mine. The 340 will fit me better and actually will go to my exact draw length. No reason for me to get a new bow right now but if I was buying the 340 would be my first choice.
  15. I've used both. Lately I've been very impressed with Slicktricks. The 125 grain Slicktrick Standards worked very well for me in Africa.

    My Eland Bowhunt video

Total arrow weight was 416 grains. That's the weight of the arrow with the broadhead. The broadhead I was using was a 125gr Slick Trick Standard.
  17. This was an outstanding hunt. Enjoy folks. Cape Eland Bowhunt South Africa
  18. Yep they do. I've shot the Strikers too. I got a passthrough on the eland bull I shot in South Africa with a 125gr Slicktrick Standard last week. Eland are as big as moose. This is a huge animal. Passthroughs on them with a bow are not common. I'm seriously impressed with these broadheads. I'll post the video in a couple days.
  19. When the fletchings are hitting a drop away, this is true most of the time. Your rest height is wrong. And/or your nock height is wrong. In many cases both are too low! Try raising the rest height some and raising your nock point. Most bows (not all) like a slight downward angle at full draw on the arrow with a drop away rest. Walk back tuning is a good way to set nock height. It is possible to make some drop away rests drop too fast but the trophy taker is not one of those rests with that issue as far as I know. The rest that is most notorious for being setup to drop too fast is the Muzzy Zero Effect.

I need to add I very much prefer broadhead tuning to bare shaft tuning. The reason is simple if you are going to hunt with this bow. Know your bow is tuned to getting the most accurate broadhead flight possible. This is of primary importance when hunting in my book. Bare shaft tuning is limited to short range results. Broadhead tuning you can take out as far as you want to shoot.
  21. There was a game camera that was taking shots of me and the activity while I hunted. This is what I did with the photos. Click the triangle on the lower right to play the video. A day in an African Ladder stand You even get to see them helping me up there. I was wearing a full body harness.

The angle it's hitting the target isn't as important as where the bare shaft is consistently hitting in relationship to fletched fieldpoints. If the bare shaft is hitting up of down of the field points you have some nock point issues. I would correct nock point issues before moving on to spine optimization. The following is true, if you are right handed. For left handed archers it works opposite. The bare shaft hitting consistently on the right means turn your poundage down. Loosen a quarter turn on each limb bolt. Try again. The bare shaft hitting consistently on the left means turn your poundage up. tighten a quarter turn on each limb bolt. Try again.
  23. You're right about the bushbuck! I knew when I got him. I absolutely realize, he's exceptional. I'm still waiting on the official score after the drying period. I think he'll just barely miss the top ten taken with a bow but he should still fall comfortably somewhere in the top twenty. A guy from Texas killed one that may be the new number two bushbuck with a bow a couple weeks ago near the same area I was hunting. So I guess there was something making the big boys walk going around past couple weeks. I actually saw another very good bushbuck that was really hard to pass up a couple days later. You better believe I'm thanking God for this trip!
  24. It is really weird. I'm still scratching my head on that one. When we checked it, the bow was consistently shooting to the left. We fixed it and now that I'm back it is consistently shooting to the right! I am still trying to figure it out. Elevation is unchanged in both cases. At any rate, sure shows how important it is to check your sites when you travel.
