  10. If you have to take pain pills to work, you have to stop. The more you work while on them the worse you hurt yourself. Pain pills don't heal anything. You will start need more and more for them to do anything. Find something to do you don't need them for. Get off that path of taking them so you can work.
  11. It's most likely a battery issue. Lithium Batteries and sealed lead acid battery packs are pretty much the only batteries that are going to function in freezing temperatures.

  13. The dove hunting and quail hunting is awesome where I hunted just across the border in New Mexico. You can probably find some great bird hunting near El Paso too. There used to be some big desert mule deer near Las Cruces and Carlsbad. The desert has lots of coyotes to chase as well. The rancher I knew that lived there no longer owns or lives on the ranch.
  14. Definitely look into and apply for an Oryx hunt in New Mexico! There are several hunts available. Not all of them are once in a lifetime. Only the White Sands Base hunts are once in a lifetime. If you are a resident of NM and a Vet they have special hunts for you. These are absolutely gorgeous animals and you will want every scrap of the meat! http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/publications/documents/rib/2012/sections/oryx_revised.pdf There are some decent pronghorn antelope west of El Paso. There are also free range Auodad's in West Texas. You'll have to buy or get permission to hunt a private ranch for these. The Auodad hunt would be on my list FOR SURE!!!
  15. Yeah it hurts like heck at first. Barring strings with my pinky was painful at first. I actually could not physically play it the same way Hedges did so I had to use the overhand fingering. One benefit I've noticed is that developing that method actually helps strengthen traditional grip playing. My former hand therapist from years ago would be proud I'm still exercising my digits

    Back from Texas

There are reams of misinformation floating about on these animals. Some more truth. There are hunting outfits in Africa that have hundreds of Scimitars roaming their lands. They absolutely will allow you to shoot one over there but you can not bring it back into the USA. Many other countries don't have the import of these animals blocked. It's primarily the USA. If you live in the USA. The only way you can legally hunt them is on a ranch with a permit.

USFWS has NOT banned hunting them. The difference now is that a permit is required to harvest one. I do indeed have the permit for this animal. Yes it's more of a hassle to hunt them now but it still can be done legally. The FOA lawsuit only succeeded in adding the permit requirement. This severely limited the number of small ranches that had them but larger ranches have permits and still hunt them. Anti's 0 Leo 1 If you want to hunt one. Call several ranches, ask about the permit and shop around. The anti's would like you to believe that hunting them is banned. It simply is not the truth.

The landowner of the ranch was reluctant to let me bow hunt his place. Luckily the outfitter knows me well enough to get me permission to deer hunt there with a bow. I think I changed the landowners mind a little about bowhunters after my hunt. These deer had been hunted hard with a rifle this season. They were very twitchy and nervous. I was seeing lots of very hair trigger wired does. Finally, I used some Code Blue estrous spray in the area. This helped calm the deer down considerably. Best last minute purchase I ever made on any hunt. It really did the trick!
